I imagine such an integral figure must have been planned to be a part of the concluding Nolan take on Batman.

Ill put it this way.
I was so against the idea of ledger as joker. But he absolutely proved me wrong.
So. Im open.
What I am excited about is that it is purported to be back to early batman days.
Focusing more on the worlds greatest detective angle and film noir.
