Estelle appreacian thread (i can't spell)

She's the most amazing person ever!





Well basically Estelle is not a sheep house mate. She is happy to be herself and not conform. She's a little odd, but that's fine. Generally she seems intelligent and a genuinely nice sort of person. Unlike most of the house mates she does not get involved in the bitching and rises above a lot of the bullshit most of the time. She's basically never mean or cruel to the other house mates to their faces or behind their backs. Even though she is aware they are frequently doing that to her. She rises above the status quo of bad behavior. Isn't interested in forming bitchy cliques. Has more the attitude of, "we don't have to like each other, but lets be civil and get along." Even though the others don't share that attitude she doesn't compromise and try and fit in.

Frankly whether you think she'd be someone you'd get along with or not. She's a better person than anyone else in the house. Except maybe for the apparently unbelievably perfect Sam.

Fair reply. I guess it's what you look for in the show. Some people are more inclined to support a HM on the basis that they aren't as bitchy as others, but I'm always going to go for the person I could get along with, and I know for sure I could never get along with Estelle, as she represents a lot of things I dislike about certain types of girls.

We must all remember that the picture that is painted for us is far different to what's on the inside, but that is indeed all we have to go off. I must emphasise that if we were in their position, I really think our take on Estelle would be far different (well, for those who favour her above all others).

I just don't like the "she doesn't conform" argument in favour of Estelle. It's a moot point in my opinion. I don't see how people can be anyone but themselves while in the house; it's just a matter of her not getting along with the others. If everyone was like Estelle, then, say, Michael would be the one on the outside. Even if they try to "conform" to some common theme within the house, if you're not that type of person, you're inevitably going to find yourself struggling to get along with others as you revert back to your real self. She just isn't their cup of tea: she speaks over others, she isn't funny, she's really strange and she says stupid things. She would rub quite a lot of us the wrong way. Of course, bitching isn't the best way to go about things, but, as I've said before, they're in a house with no current knowledge of, or real access to the outside world. All they know at that time is each other so of course they're going to say both positive and negative things about one another.

And, having said all that, I don't really think Estelle is that much of an outsider any longer.

ben, he is fine when he is sincere, which is about 20-30% of the time otherwise bitchy

sam, my 2nd fav at the moment

so for people who dislike bitchiness, estelle is the one to go for. i guess lots of people dont like bitchiness, not all of them love estelle, its more of dislike the rest.

Or is Estelle only considered not to be bitchy because she has no one really to bitch to? Bitchiness is inevitable in the BB house, even Mother Teresa would have given it a go.

She's had quite a few lengthy chats with ray, Ava and Ryan and there's been no real slights made on anyone. Though saying that of course I haven't seen everything, only what the live updates and TV show provide but if they've been able to show it for others you'd think they'd be able to show it for her too.

Estelle has always said she doesn't enjoy gossiping. She's conciously chosen not to partake in that type of behaviour. I respect her for it. She tends to deal with her problems directly with that person. She confronted Angie and Benjamin about her issues with them as well as Josh. She strikes me as someone that has a lot of intergrity but is just a little misunderstood.
 
I quite like estelle but she is going to be mortified on stage when they play her "rap talent" back to her.

I, literally have to look away when she goes in to 10 cent mode.

I actually think she has picked up on and played the victim well. Ava goes this time perhaps she will not be nominated next time. perhaps Michael et cronies will think that she is fireproof and not bother.

Have a feeling that Estelle is a heck of a lot smarter (in terms of playing people) than she gets credit for.

You see the glee Bradley had at the thought of annoying her by interrupting her mediation. What a wanker.

There was an interesting clip a week or so back where she was basically saying something along the lines, or with the meaning of, "yes it's crap, I know it's crap. That's part of the fun and why I do it." Which was interesting. Her basically saying she doesn't think it's good, and it not being good is the fun. Although generally in such situations people often hope it's good. Still it puts a different and more understandable perspective on it.

I think it's just a way of self amusement. So who cares if it's good or not? If she enjoys it is all that matters.

Usually I would say you are full of merde and she is that but you make a good point. Self amusement may be her coping mechanism. like Josh feels the need to look like a starved dick. (I was a supporter when he started)

Although we shouldnt be exposed to the really crap stuff. ANd...if they edit down like goon said to 10/1000000ths of fuck all from footage then that ....is her best!

they all play to stay, i think the difference of estelle's game, to an extend of sam's game, is that they dont elevate themselves by hurting others.

she has alot of time, opportunities and reasons to bitch to ava when she came along. but she chose not to. i really admire her for that, coz i know if you put me in that enviroment, i wont say i am an 'angie' or 'stacey', but yeah i will bitch.

she is smart and keeps things close to her heart. she knows others are bitching about her behind her back, yet she is continuously trying to build a bridge.

take angie for example. i think estelle makes an effort to befriend with her (or try to change angie's hostile attitude towards her)

she know angie talks over her then blames her, she knows angie bitches behind her back, she pointed out to angie that angie didnt seem to appreciate her peace offer, (note! she didnt bitch to some other HMs, she spoke to angie face to face), even after angie bluntly replied that she didnt feel estelle was making an effort of befriending her, and they didnt have middle ground, u can see from updates and videos, estelle still maintain a friendliness between them.

i guess her way of being accepted is not to reduce herself to their level, but rather rise about and hope they will accept her difference one day. sadly the HMs are just too immature to appreciate.

But surely Estelle is holier than Mother Teresa.*

*Some would argue that many people are but that's a debate for some other forum.
 
Alex tweeted last night that he would no longer be sharing the percentages, saying all he got was negativity. I am suspicious though that the real reason may be that voting is not close. He did however say we would get our first look on Sunday night, presumably during another nine show or the official site?

Anyway, let's keep the votes coming in, it might really make some of these people think if Estelle can be the most saved in a week where she is head to head with Angie, who after what happened a couple of weeks back they would all think is very popular.
