Drew (BB12) drags Matt (BB12)

I think Matt had condemned himself, and there's no question of what he is. I just happen to be of the opinion, based on my own experiences, that this kind of tactic doesn't fix what talking to someone about their fucked-up beliefs often can.
I don't think it will change him one iota, but I'm glad his prejudices have been questioned. I'm not sure what people want Drew to be. If he models he's shallow, if he finally takes a stand over something that matters, apparently that's not okay either. What he's done with Matt just reminds me why I like him. I'm tired of everyone standing by and letting racism happen. And if Matt is caught in the crossfire, it's no less than he deserves.

Drew can do whatever he likes, but after watching him on BB and kind of stalking him over the last 10 months or so I get this vibe from him that he thinks he is superior to most people, might not be true, but that is how I feel.

And I did say that Matt is in the wrong.
I think it's bizarre that people think Drew "thinks he is superior to most people". The level of projection here still surprises me.

For lack of a better analogy, Racism in Australia is like when someone farts on the dance floor. Everyone can smell the stench and knows it's there and yet everyone tries to pretend they don't notice it and keep dancing.

Although I don't think Drew's motives for dragging this up were pure (I say that because bringing attention to issues like this aren't consistent with his SM activity) - Racism is a big issue in the country that needs attention ASAP...although perhaps in a more educational and less "screenshot and shame" format.

I guess I just don't see it as something so strong as "taking a stand."

I'm horrified (though not surprised) by Matt's stance. I like that Drew was angered by it. That doesn't mean I have to think he took the best approach in addressing it.

Education in its more traditional forms hasn't worked unfortunately. Drew speaking out won't hurt, no matter what his motives.

He's calling Matt out. That's a stand of sorts and really, wouldn't anything else be seen as even greater grandstanding? Unless of course you think Drew should have phoned Matt and asked him nicely to stop. I'm not trying to be snarky @littlebear, but racism in Oz is an ongoing source of shame to me, and Matt stirring up negative feelings at this point stinks to high heaven. He's a creep.

Don't forget I'm American. I get the shame thing all too well.

I know you do and I hate that of all people, I'm disagreeing with you, but I'm one of those who think that when good people do nothing we're worse off. I think Drew's the right kind of good person ;)

Drew is a weakling. He wouldn't have the guts to confront Matt face to face.
