...I just love the way that he's posing off with his new sonic screwdriver lol... cheers

I have no time - ehhh, just fitting in the Doctor x 3 times at least.

@Mr Stickyfingers loving your comments, and I adore that barn setting too the lighting is gorgeous, and it would seem to be the MOMENT barn as well as his old home.

Peter looked so beautiful at times - @Mr Stickyfingers can you please stop calling him 'old man' he is only about 4 years older than River.
I love his face.

...I'm glad that someone else likes that barn kxk... it does have such peacefulness about it doesn't it?... hahaha!... I was calling him an 'old man' as compared to Clara's young age but duly noted lol!... Alex Kingston is only 4 years younger than Peter Capaldi?... wow!... I thought that she was younger than that... she is a real stunner to me even though I don't like her River Song character... regardless... I'll probably enjoy her in the Christmas special show if she doesn't do anymore of those annoying catch-phrases of hers... ;) lol!... cheers.

Alex Kingston is up for a ‘naughty’ Doctor Who spin-off with John Barrowman

Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston, who plays the Time Lord’s wife in the hit BBC show, has spoken about a River Song spin-off TV series and who should star alongside her.

Promoting the upcoming Christmas Special, where we discover she is also married to a giant robot called King Hydroflax (played by The Inbetweeners’ Greg Davies), Kingston told Digital Spy that she would like a spin-off of her own. She said:

‘After the 9 O’clock watershed? With Captain Jack? Might be naughty!’

Kingston and Barrowman together on the same screen is a thought that might get everyone hot under the collar.

TV’s John Barrowman has played the pansexual Captain Jack Harkness since 2005 and has appeared alongside both Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant, though not with Matt Smith and has yet to appear with Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor.

Alex also spoke to Digital Spy about who the next Doctor Who companion should be, and it’s not her! She commented:

‘I think the beauty of a character like River Song is that she’ll come in for an adventure and then she goes off again, and I think that’s what the fans love.

‘If she were a constant companion, I’m not sure the fans would enjoy that so much.’

In The Husbands Of River Song, the Doctor Who Christmas Special, River does not recognise Peter Capaldi’s Doctor, and enrols him in a daring diamond heist across space and time.

...the fact that Alex Kingston has stated that she's not going to be The Doctor's next companion is great news!... but I must say... if they do make a spin-off show with her character of 'River Song' and John Barrowman's character of 'Captain Jack' I would definitely watch it for sure!... mainly for the fact that she wouldn't be constantly saying those stupid boring catch-phrases of hers to Captain Jack... the dynamics of their characters bouncing off of each other in trying to see who plays the 'alpha role' would be great TV to watch lol!...

...they would be constantly trying to outdo each other... the thing is... neither of them own a Tardis so would all of their adventures be Earth bound?... unless they both have 'portal bracelets' or something similar I guess?... I wonder if Captain Jack would put the hard word on her?... (now that would be interesting to see lol!)... anyhow... what a great concept regardless...

...so River Song is also 'married' to King Hydroflax as well as The Doctor?... what a tart!!!... lol!... I'm dying to hear what she tells The Doctor as to why she has committed bigamy against him... lol!... and I would love to see how Capaldi's Doctor would react with Captain Jack... that would be such fun to watch lol!... cheers.

4.5 billion years, it makes Rory's 2000 years look a bit shabby. From here on in 4.5 billion years will be the measuring stick for devotion, and it's kinda hard to beat. Time to step it up mr nutmeg, lol.

It was such a perfect exit for Clara, I'm so happy about it. They kept drilling home the point that she was becoming the Doctor, and now her transformation is complete. Her own TARDIS, a chameleon circuit 'stuck', and she can travel as long as she wants, as long as she doesn't get caught. And she has a companion. The life she loved, but now it's forever. And I assume because she is already dead, she can't die again, except for when she returns to the raven, which she presumably won't do, so she's going to be more reckless than ever. She's going to have so much fun.

Great result for Me too, she lived through all of time and now she gets to live through all of space and time, those two make a great pair. Two immortals on the run in a stolen TARDIS, how badly do we want to see their adventures. Can't wait for the novels and audio books with those two, and their return to the show or their own spin off, if that's not too much to ask please.

Best goodbye for a companion ever, a happy goodbye, except I just wish she could tell the Doctor. Why can't she? Will that recreate the perfect storm that was the Doctor-Clara hybrid, and disaster strikes? I got a little lost there, need to watch it again.

Plus all the other stuff that happened, it will have a place in DW history as one of the best finales of all time.

...this scene really had a deep affect on me... it really hit home of just how deep The Doctors loyalty lies with his companions... it was so good to see just how much he does care for them... it kind of reminds me of when David Tennant's Doctor met Sarah Jane Smith again and she said to him... "why did you just abandon me!"... (or words to that effect)... he felt really bad about having done that... also when he had to wipe Donna Nobles mind that time... it really does hit home for him sometimes... as did this moment with Clara... such a great scene between the two of them... if Peter Capaldi doesn't get some sort of award like a BAFTA or whatever for his acting this season then something is seriously wrong in my opinion... cheers.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, how bitter sweet and utterly heartbreaking is it watching the 2nd time, when you know everything, sigh.

It is like a beautiful sad love letter to farewell Clara. From Raven to Hell, 3 parts of heartache, so beautiful.
Jenna has that perfect face, a screen of emotions. She is the lovely Clara, the one that stopped the MOMENT.

ME needs to die, and to be tortured, I cannot stand that character. Clara should dump her and find Capt Jack.
I have found the character of ME very disappointing.
Ever since that wonderful sweeping sunrise shot of the Girl who Lived set us up for something profound and majestic, all she has been is a spoilt bitch.
Fancy living forever and never doing a worthwhile thing, all the things you could do and learn and master, and she just is nothing.

I liked Maisie's performance as ME, but you're right in that they could have done a lot more with her character. She should have learned something, and used her infinite lives to do something positive. It's rather odd that Clara would opt for travelling with the person whose fault it is she's dead. I don't think the Doctor would approve.

Yes Maisie has done the best she can with a crap character, I have no problems with her acting, it is the stupid script.
Capt Jack was a frivolous naughty boy, becoming immortal, well he well and truely changed - and is another who was time tortured, buried alive for 2,000 years.

It is clara's TARDIS, chuck ME out or turn her around, that is clara's speciality. She is that sweet girl that stops shit happening, so could see ME as a project.
They could both turn up in Coal School.

...I'm so glad that someone else hates Maisie William's character of 'Me'... and I agree... that character needs to die... I was pretty excited when I first ever heard that she was coming into the show but 'Me' has been such a big disappointment to me too... she is a spoilt nasty little bitch and she hasn't done anything worthwhile as you say kxk... I so agree with your assessment of her... thank god someone has started this ball rolling... I've been biting my lip in not saying this lol!...

...ever since I started watching Doctor Who when I was a kid at 10 years old and 'The Master' was eventually introduced into the show... that is the one character that me... my brother and every other kid that I knew at the time hated because he was always out to destroy The Doctor at all costs... (we were all too scared of the Daleks/Cybermen etc to hate them lol!)... now that the show has been re-launched what?... 10 years ago?... The Master for me (now that I'm a mature adult?) became that annoying bloke that is STILL trying to make The Doctor's life a misery and is STILL trying to kill him... up until the time that The Master turned into 'Missy' The Master was the one to really dislike for me... now it is the character of 'Me'...

...I so love the character of 'Missy'... I so hate the character of 'Me'... the sooner she goes the better... to me... 'Missy' is now a 'lovable villain' ... 'Me' is just a nasty piece of work... I've no doubt that Maisie William's is reveling in the role of 'Me' but her character really needs to leave the series forever for me... I would prefer 100 River Songs saying her stupid catch-phrases than watching another episode with 'Me' in it lol!...

...that first part of your post is so right too... what a great farewell to Clara... (if it is 'farewell')... her range of emotions in this episode is what inspired those GIFs of mine above... her realisation of what The Doctor did for her really got to me... a brilliant performance by them both indeed...

...anyhow... enough of me cranking my chain lol!... a great post kxk... cheers.

...Maisie's performance was flawless... (so good in fact that I got to hate 'Me' lol!)... as I said... it was so flawless at all times and I can see why The Moff got her on board for her involvement but what a waste of her character... as you say Meglos... it is rather odd that Clara would opt to travel with her... I touched upon this in an earlier post... all I can think of is that The Moff has made her like this to be able to allow her to redeem herself for what she has done in some sort of story arc to come... in the meantime... I'll continue to hate 'Me' until such time lol!...

...perhaps that's why The Moff has put them both together... for Clara to turn 'Me' around while they travel together in that stolen Tardis?... I guess that only The Moff knows eh?... lol!... aaaaaah!... 'Captain Jack'... I so love his character and would love it for him to come back into the series... (yes... even if it involves River Song!:meh::smug::smuggrin:)... it's better that... than nothing at all eh?... lol!... cheers.

I'd love to see more Torchwood, or at least a return appearance for Captain Jack and Gwen Cooper in Doctor Who. Sadly I don't think it's too likely, as they are (the brilliant) Russell T Davies creations, and The Moff likes to reuse his own.

I pretty much love everything about Doctor Who, and all of the recurring characters. There are only a few episodes in the entire revived series that I didn't love.

...that is so true... I think that The Moff considers the show to be his own private Whoniverse and that anything that Russell T Davies created The Moff wants to change no matter what... regardless of whatever the fans wanted... that's why he tried to introduce those big fat effeminate Daleks and changed the Cyberman's armour so much just to name a couple of things... that's why he introduced the Sonic Sunnies until the fans objected too... he just wants to change things to stamp his mark on the show to make it as different to what Russel T Davis created all those years ago...

...he often justifies these changes in the shows icons as 'trying to keep the show fresh'... no he isn't... he's doing it to make the show as different as he can to as it was when it was first revived... granted... the stories of late are fantastic but it's to the credit of other scriptwriters in his stable of writers mostly in my opinion... even though they would be writing the episodes under his strict guidance of his version of the Whoniverse obviously...

...The Moff in my opinion needs to slowly back off and let the collective group of upcoming scriptwriters drive the Doctor Who Whoniverse at the behest of what the fans want to happen a bit more... but that is just my humble opinion of things... what annoys me is that The Moff loves the show so much yet still tries to change things so drastically of such iconic things of the show so much... I have a sneaking niggling little voice in the back of my minuscule feeble little brain that the next major icon that he will fiddle with will be The Tardis's exterior appearance... he just can't help himself...

...I don't dislike The Moff... I just don't agree with what he tries to change so much... those icons like the Daleks/Cybermen/sonic screwdriver and The Tardis etc are like the way they are because that's the way that they were first introduced to us and that's how most fans want them to stay... that's what most of the fans fell in love with... that's what they want... sure... do minor changes The Hoff... not major changes... the big fat effeminate Daleks were testimony to that... anyhow... that's my view of things anyway... cheers.

Great posts @Mr Stickyfingers , don't hold back when you dislike something, your posts are always wonderful to read, with great thoughts.
And it is lovely we all adore Doctor Who so much, even our differences here don't bother us much in the whole bigger picture of our collective passion for this remarkable gift.

Apparently it was RTD's idea to bring back River, he was dying to see her with Capaldi, and Moff may only do one more season, they are looking for the replacement.

Wouldn't Peter Jackson be an awesome showrunner.

And would Clara go haunting Danny Pink? Occurred to me he could be the hybrid too, soldier and cyberman???
