I adored the 50th and detested the Christmas special Matt finale....Moffatt is weird, he can write a good story but he is shit at being the overlord/producer/director...just shit.

But Mud, I appreciated Matt much more on 2nd viewing, he acts his little heart out and is wonderful as an old/young Doc, tragic and sad.
I just grew to love him to bits and ignore a lot of the shit story going on.

I loved Amy/Rory - but detested how Moffatt kept torturing the poor things. Sick to death of River, please never ever come back, sweetie.
Moff must be due to leave soon surely.

I felt quite a bit like you Mud until I started watching Matt/Clara series 2nd time around. Moffatt was so annoying - then I just focused more on the actors and really enjoyed the last few episodes and the 50th.

I know but even the 50th anniversary thing to me felt kind of meh. Only episode I loved was Assylum Of The Daleks.....

Good grief, have you checked the prices - horrible, poor families with kids, will just have to hang about stagedoors.

Interesting that they are doing this though, and Rory/Arthur is coming too.

Right now it feels weird that they don't have a last new series of Matt ready to run.

Have just found out it has been cancelled.
Karen pulled out and so now has Matt (family reasons)
"I am deeply saddened to have to advise that I will not be able to come to Australia for the Hub Productions' Whoniverse event. Although I wish it were otherwise, due to a personal family emergency it's not possible for me to leave England at this time. I truly regret the situation, and the disappointment it must be causing, but I'm hoping to be able to reschedule as soon as possible for the future; I look forward to see you all then."
The organisers have said they are working to try to bring the team to future events, but in the meantime, Ticketek will be in touch regarding refunds.

^ Well as a big Matt/Karen/Arthur fan, at least I don't feel like I'm missing out now.
I can put that regret off til later.

It is no wonder they both pulled out - the whole thing sounds just wrong, charging for a signature at all let alone that much is bullshit.

Peter Davies was free at the ABC shops, boohoo I missed him.

Matt is busy filming cameos for Doc Who:)

Is that actually official though? I was reading up on it, but I think its only a rumour.

Don't get me wrong, it sounds cool. But one website mentioned showing Matt when we're trying to get used to Capaldi might not be the best move.

I'm happy to wait & see though. Matt is MY Doctor after all :)

Aww poo, I thought it was a confirmed thing - it was reported as a legit news item.

Checking a bit - seems, we maybe get his voice calling Clara in this scene, don't look if you don't want to but there isn't any sound so it doesn't give much away.

YOUR Doctor should have done one last series I feel, his Doctor deserved a happier series.
And I choose to forget that hideous departure episode and focus on how beautiful the 50th was.

I had a weird thought. I consider the Peter Cushing movies canon but set in an alternate universe, where a human invented a TARDIS...

Now imagine if that version of the Doctor met the TV series Doctor Who......... That first introduction would be interesting if awkward.....

Ahuh... Spoilers! :P

I agree, Matt Smiths send off was atrocious, up until the Amy appeared to say hi & bye to her Raggedy Doctor.

I really, really want to love Clara, but alas I cannot :'(

Oswin on the other hand... ;)

The Name of The Doctor & The 50th Anniversary special were BRILLIANT!

I'm rewatching them all at the moment. Just finished The Lodger - Matt Smith at his finest!

You beauty, David has another awesome TV show coming our way:)

Next week SBS premieres the 3 part UK drama The Escape Artist starring David Tennant as a brilliant lawyer, adept at getting the guilty off the hook.

Thursday, 20 March at 9.35pm on SBS ONE.

Episode One:
Will’s case sees him defending Liam Foyle (Toby Kebbell) who is on trial for the brutal torture and murder of a young woman. Despite the overwhelming evidence against Foyle, Will cannot help but be brilliant and gets him off on a technicality. However, Will questions the morality of what he has done, and fails to shake Foyle’s hand at the end of the trial. For the first time in his career, Will’s work dangerously creeps into his personal life as Foyle begins stalking his wife and young son.

Sounds great, written by Spooks writer.
David Tennant is certainly in demand and making excellent choices.

It's so great that actors who play the Doctor are not typecast anymore, like with the classic series.
Nowdays being Doctor Who opens doors.
Which is great for fans too, because it means that terrific actors aren't frightened to agree to play the role.

Keeley Hawes has been cast as the villain in the new series of Doctor Who, to screen later this year on BBC1. She will play Ms Delphox, a villainous banker with a dark secret.

She was superb in Ashes To Ashes. Not only a brilliant actress but quite beautiful.

There's a rumour that Paul McGann might be cast as The Master

Who is that avatar with the wobbling head?

I'm referring to the picture not the actual poster.

Classic DW fans, did you see that Kate O'Mara also known as the Rani died a few weeks ago. She was an amazing character. I read one article where they describe her as "Dastardly, glamorous, ruthless but most of all fiendish cleverness." So true!!

RIP Kate.
