A lot of people are dubious about the baby news because they announced the birth on April fools day and there's been no word since.

Oh come on lying about a baby is a bit low....... I'd like to err on the side of caution and give it the benefit of the doubt.

Elisabeth Sladen dead today aged 62 after a long battle with cancer.

You know I got the shock of my life hearing this on the radio this morning at 630am my time. I had no idea she was even suffering anything. She's such an amazing woman and I was just watching "School Reunion" "Journey's End" and "The Stolen Earth" and could not believe that she was 61 when she did those episodes. She just looked for want of better words bloody amazing.

As Sarah Jane Smith she was one of my favourite companions in the TARDIS and fond memories of her in Dr. Who.........

RIP Elisabeth Sladen Whereever you are

I just got home from work & a friend had emailed me about this, I am absolutely devastated. I've never cried over a celebrity before :(

RIP Lis, the best Doctor who companion ever & star of your own show (& I was looking forward to a new series, i had no idea she had cancer). So, so sad,

She joined the cast of Doctor Who in 1973 playing the assistant to Jon Pertwee's incarnation as the Time Lord.

Sladen remained on the BBC show for a further three and a half seasons, continuing to assist the Doctor in his next incarnation as Tom Baker, before leaving in 1976.

As one of the most popular Dr Who assistants ever, the character of Sarah Jane was brought back for the new series, appearing alongside David Tennant.

Popular: Sladen appeared alongside the current Doctor, Matt Smith, in an episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures

In a 2006 interview ahead of rejoining the series, she said: 'I think it has lovely layers and I'd defend the programme to anyone.

'I'm very emotionally part of that programme and I think a lot of the people who worked on it are. You used to love going to work every day.'
Her return to the franchise was such a success, she then appeared in a spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures, which was broadcast on CBBC.

TV classic: She remained on the show when Tom Baker replaced Pertwee as the Doctor in 1975

The show proved popular with young fans with the fourth series being screened last autumn.
The BBC had planned to produce a fifth series, but that now looks unlikely following her death.

Sladen is survived by her actor husband of 42 years, Brian Miller, and their actress daughter Sadie.
Among the stars paying tribute on Twitter was Dr Who fan Jonathan Ross, who wrote: 'RIp Elisabeth Sladen aka Sarah Jane. Sad news.'

About The Program
In this new series, The Doctor (Matt Smith) returns, alongside newlyweds Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill), to face monsters and mysteries and adventures all across time and space.

Four envelopes, numbered 2, 3 and 4, each containing a date, time and map reference, unsigned, but TARDIS blue. Who sent them? And who received the missing number one? This strange summons reunites the Doctor (Matt Smith), Amy (Karen Gillan), Rory (Arthur Darvill) and River Song (Alex Kingston) in the middle of the Utah desert and unveils a terrible secret the Doctor's friends must never reveal to him.

Placing his life entirely in their hands, the Doctor agrees to search for the recipient of the fourth envelope - just who is Canton Everett Delaware the Third? And what is the relevance of their only other clue: 'Space 1969'? Their quest lands them - quite literally - in the Oval Office, where they are enlisted by President Nixon himself to assist enigmatic former-FBI agent Canton, in saving a terrified little girl from a mysterious spaceman.

***Note to self, must not forget to put kiddies to bed early Sat night, ready for some mum/Dr who time***** :D

I watched it, it was good.

I do it proper though, 1080p version of the episode on a big screen.

Wellt that was good.... But again we carry on the tradition of "we mustn't tell the Doctor what is about to happen" from last season... It's getting very old and tired.... And old and boring already.

That was good, better than last season, had some quite touching moments
