...after having had watched yet another good episode of our beloved show for the 3rd time now I think that it's time to make some comments... some of my comments are going to be me in '
picky Sticky' mode again I'm afraid... I just can't help myself lol!...
...I so loved this little house... I would love to walk around inside it lol!... I saw a few houses like this throughout England when we went over there lol!... now!... to the episode itself...
(1)... I'm positive that when Bill said...
"do you sleep here?"... (in The Tardis)... The Doctor said something like...
"I've no need to... sleep is for (Tortoises?)... unless we've regenerated or have had a big lunch!"... and then Bill asks...
"regenerated?"... and he sort of fobs her off when he replies...
"oh questions questions questions... that's all for now"...
...is The Doctor aware that he's beginning his next regeneration process already for some reason and is 'preparing' Bill for when he actually does?... did he sort of drop her a hint?... and if so... is his regeneration going to be sooner rather than later perhaps?...
or... is it going to be drawn out throughout the entire season step by step whereas he's breaking down slowly until the inevitable happens maybe?...
(2)... ('picky Sticky' #1)... why is Bill moving in with 5 other students and not just living in The Tardis itself?... Rose/Donna/Martha and Amy did... and Clara did some of the time... so why isn't Bill now?... has Moffatt and co decided on a new format when it comes to companions now?... and if so... why?...
...also... won't her 5 new friends be asking constant questions on where the hell she is all of the time?... let's face it... each time The Tardis pulls up with all of that noise it's not as if they're not going to notice it is it?...
(3)... I had to laugh when they all kept hearing the noises and one of them said
"Paul go and have a look!" and he says
"why me?" and the reply was
"physically you're the biggest!" and another one of them pipes up
"and the most expendable!"... lol!... that's so typical of spooky movies isn't it?... the big guy has to be the one that sorts it all out lol!... and all the time it was The Doctor anyway lol!...
(4)... another good scene was when Bill called The Doctor
"her grandfather"... he was really offended and said
"let's say dad!"... (was that a nod to Susan and the original Doctor by any chance?)... it makes me wonder...
(5)... ('picky Sticky' #2)... when they all started dying did anyone else notice that Bill isn't so shocked by seeing people die now?... she was so horrified about it just one episode ago after all wasn't she?... is this episode supposed to suggest that it's possibly a couple of months since the last episode or something because Bill seems more sure of herself now and was even a bit dismissive and even embarrassed about The Doctor in front of her friends now... or is it just me that gets that vibe?...
(6)... ('picky Sticky' #3)... why doesn't
ANYONE ever notice The Tardis when it lands in the street like it did?... it always amazes me that people don't... okay Sticky... get over it... move on... move on...
(7)... I so loved the interactions between Peter Capaldi and David Suchet... David Suchet wasn't actually on screen that much when you look at it for the 3rd time when I look at it closely... but when he did his presence was always so strong... as far as I'm concerned his minimal presence carried this episode for me... when he plays Poirot his full acting abilities are obviously suppressed by having to play such a 'stiff' character as Poirot... no wonder that he jumped at this opportunity...
(8)... ('picky Sticky' #4)... surely with all of the previous batches of housemates that have been 'absorbed' in the 70's and 90's etc that when they suddenly disappeared why hasn't anyone reported them missing before?... surely they told their families as to where they were moving to with forwarding addresses?... and how come they weren't returned with the latest batch?... (they were digested so long ago that they couldn't be perhaps?)... that's my guess anyway...
(9)... when David Suchet's by now sad character said about his mother...
"if you could save the one that brought you into the world... wouldn't you?" to The Doctor did you see the expression on Bill's face?... what with her 'discovering' photos of her mum and having had put her mum's photo up in her room I'm thinking that there will be some kind of arc which involves Bill meeting her mum alive in a future episode or two somehow... call it a 'sneaking suspicion' if you like lol!... you know how 'The Moff 'loves his story arcs after all don't you?...
(10)... I loved it when David Suchet's character went from being sinister to being childlike in a blink of an eye like he was able to... such is the greatness of his acting abilities... and when he started to cry and say
"please forgive me... please forgive me!" like a little naughty child at this precise moment...
...I have to admit it... I teared up along with him... (yes I know... I'm a little wuss aren't I?)... he carried that scene so well... what a bloody great actor...
(11)... I liked the way that it was Bill that figured out that David Suchet was not the father but the woman's son... well done for them writing it that way...
(12)... and finally... it looks like Nardole finally gets to join in on the action at last in next weeks episode thank god... he's being so wasted at the moment... although... Bill isn't looking too happy in this shot is she?... lol!...
...anyhow... those are my thoughts on this weeks episode... overall I loved the episode even though it was riddled with with some cliches' from myriads of stock standard Horror movies lol!... although... I'm glad that it did lol!... David Suchet's performance was magnificent and the highlight for me and he carried the episode even though he barely had much screen time but such is the performance of the man... him and Peter Capaldi together was just sheer pleasure in itself too... cheers.
