^^That's sad.
Can't believe no one has mentioned Johnny Famechon...I am by no means a boxing fan but he was a legend as well as a gentleman.

The world has totally gone to crap lately.
It's so hard to stay positive when it seems like nothing good ever happens anymore.
RIP Dame Livvy.
I'm a huge fan, and she was a lovely person and fantastic advocate for fighting cancer.
On a personal note, my parents knew her as a teenager/twenties on the Melbourne music scene.

Trying my best not to cry at work learning of the death of Olivia Newton-John.
This one has hit me hard.
Olivia Newton-John was a huge part of my childhood/teen years music and movie wise.
Grease and Xanadu will forever be amongst my favourite movies.
Thank you, Olivia. ❤

Heard about her crash a few days ago, then a few hours ago they said "not expected to survive", and now she hasn't...

I was thinking today how a lot of people who I relate to & shared some connection with based on what they do & ... A lot of them had an impact on me in some way whilst I grew up.... them seem to be dyingThe world has totally gone to crap lately.

I hate to say it. It's our age now. And there will be more. I remember when I went home one year and my mum told me my dad was really depressed because all his old friends were beginning to die. I seem to remember he was in his mid 70's. So we have some tough times ahead!I was thinking today how a lot of people who I relate to & shared some connection with based on what they do & ... I remember when David Bowie died, that was a huge one for us as both my partner and I had been huge Bowie fans since the early 70's. It's still hard to think he's gone.
George Michael, another one was always in our lives.
And, it doesn't go to say: Michael Jackson. We all grew up with him, but I could never see him getting past 40.
A lot of sad times to come.
Long live Sting and Noel Gallagher, that's what I say. ( plus a few more I can't think of right now)
Yes those ones were important to me too. Its made worse when they die before their time too. Like MJ & George Michael - they both died younger than they should have.I hate to say it. I just read that Lillian Frank died yesterday.. She was someone I know of whilst growing up in Melbourne. My Mother was a fashion guru and socialised around the the Melbourne fashion scene - so although I didn't know Lillian well, I did on occasions run into her over the years.
And is it a sad thing of a good thing? All of my Mums friends & family died before her - she lived through all their deaths, and towards the end I didn't tell her about some. We ended up having a small family ceremony when my Mum died as she had no friends left to attend her funeral. So I know how your Dad must feel - watching my poor old Mum grieving quite a lot towards the end...
Josephine Tewson has died, her agent announced today.
The star, best-known for her role in Keeping Up Appearances, was 91.
Tewson was a star of both stage and the small screen.
Her role as Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Warden – the long-suffering neighbour of Hyacinth Bucket, played by Patricia Routledge.
I used to watch Keeping Up Appearances with my mother almost every day - my mum loved this show, probably (& she never realised or would admit it) because she was a lot like Hyacinth

My dad said the same thing on one of my last visits to NZ "all my friends are dead now". It's heartbreaking to hear and must be so much harder to experience. He kept himself busy with various hobbies and activities for as long as he could (wood turning, spinning wool - he lived in a small farming town) and still had his (slightly younger) wife to look after him. Now he's gone and she's since been shunted off to a care home by her son.
I don't know if my mum watched that, and if she had, she too might have realised it was too close to the bone.I used to watch Keeping Up Appearances with my mother almost every day - my mum loved this show, probably (& she never realised or would admit it) because she was a lot like Hyacinth
Just saw this news now. Used to love Peking Man, her band with her brother before she went solo.RIP Margaret Urlich.
Great singer, on her own and uncredited on 'The Horses'.
