Episode Day 9 Daily Show and Nominations - 17/11/2025

I'm calling it, this was the worst episode of the season so far.
I agree with everything except Holly knowing that Colin was 4th. I was watching the livestream alongside the Ten broadcast and it did look like Live Noms was the first time the power had been explained to Holly and the other housemates. During the Ten commercial break, BB was explaining to her that the nominees had to plead, and confirmed with her several times "do you understand" before the commercials ended.

The flip side to this nominations interference though is now everyone will follow Holly's lead because they don't want to look bad.

Michael is too dangerous to have on live television.
An example of producers plucking a BBUK idea but not properly thinking it through for the BBAU format.

For those who don't know... this year BBUK went out of their way to have right wing trollbaiter housemates. BBAU has followed with Michael and Bruce. The difference is that over there, evictions happen around 10pm so they can have controversial interviews.

BBAU is interviewing people at family hours at a family theme park in front of a bunch of mums and grandmas. Production was probably shitting themselves so they coughed up the "word association game interview".

The show is being run by people with no imagination outside of MAFS production and on a minuscule budget.

I feel the same.

Any goodwill I had left for the show was extinguished last night after seeing the constant shots of Ben Norris in the audience. It really triggered me into an angry emotional state. WTF! And also, the Colin favouritism really brought back the Channel 9 feeling when the producers' favourites were shoved down our throats, and you just know Mike Goldman has a hard on for him (from his comments on social media). Then evictee Michael came on stage, which was completely pointless. It doesn’t look like we will even get highlight packages anymore. And to top it off, the music was too bloody loud when Big Brother was announcing the nominees. Shit shit shit.

I’m pissed off. 😡

It's most definitely a scam. Maybe not for money, but for something.

I reckon they've got some TV show hosting role lined up for Colon and are using Big Brother as a soft launch...

Not necessarily a scam in that they defrauding the voter in any financial way
But it quite possible the actual votes are not truly being reflected in the result - in other word they fiddle the vote numbers to get the result they want

He couldn't host his way out of a paperbag, who in their right mind would want to watch him do that?
Who in their right mind would want to watch him in the house either?

Trouble is there are so many people not in their right mind who are lapping it all up, the lemmings would follow him off a cliff. So they'd watch him try to host a show.

Let's hope he learns to read before then, otherwise an autocue would be useless 😒

Effectively everyone already has internet, so it's not any EXTRA cost to vote.
I thought there was a link with the internet provider and the channel to gain revenue from the stream and that would cost come from consumers in some way But Im not fully up with all the technology but doesnt logging on here make money for the site? I would think the tv channels would have a big slice of it somewhere

The streams on Ten's website and via multicast channels will cost them money, which they make up by showing ads on the stream.

The Tiktok stream probably costs them a very small amount of money which they can justify because it sends a lot of young people to watch the television shows (where advertising is shown).

Your internet provider is not really involved.

Also, can’t wait to see how they spin this tonight… FYI last night on the streams the producers Big Brother told Holly to set up a date for Bruce and Coco. Even though they both weren’t really into it. Even gave the pair alcoholic to persuade them. This show is becoming more and more scripted.

Let’s see how much of that they really show tonight…

Hopefully not much because the 'date' became a nothingburger as a result of Bruce and Holly making it as mundane as possible.

Does anyone remember from the original livestreaming days, did they ever censor or cut away to different housemates if things got juicy, so they could put it into the DS? Or back then was it literally just the raw feed being played out with zero interference?

It wasn't completely raw but I remember it being fairly lax.

The reason the 2006 Turkey Slap Incident even became known was because it was shown on the live stream, captured in the Fan Diary here and then I posted articles about it (back when BBB had a news area).

There was a huge debate at the time because Ten technically didn't break decency rules because they only applied to broadcast television, not live streams (the laws have since been updated).

In a parallel universe where BBB doesn't exist, the turkey slap happened but no one found out.
