Episode Day 9 Daily Show and Nominations - 17/11/2025

By making this an ✨ optional ✨ power, the producers have really undermined its purpose. From now on the HOH will simply avoid using the nomination twist to avoid putting a target on their back. It would have been so juicy if Holly had saved someone and Conor had gone up instead, that would have made for great TV. Let's be honest anyway, Big Brother, had your golden boy been nominated this week there's no way you would have let him leave.

Oops you did a Holly there, I think you meant Colin not Conor?

Found the Allannah / Coco / Bruce conversation interesting. I think it was a super healthy discussion and finding common ground. Politics and even just having any opinions have become too divisive and polarising for me these days. So I found it refreshing that there was obviously a pretty conservative guy chatting with some more liberal thinkers and finding understanding and acceptance. Need more of that in society imo.
From the Day 8 thread, it closed before I could articulate my reply a bit more lol FWIW:

I also thought the same. Although some think he’s now backtracking and or playing the game, I also didn’t think the first conversation was anything too outlandish like some of the articles I skimmed about it were (imo) making it sound like he was championing the tradwife thing and being super misogynistic, and Mia’s diary room about it came across to me as if she maybe appreciated the debate even though Bruce and Michael appeared to have some outdated and archaic views.

I can appreciate that it might also just be a bit of pantomime/ taking the piss out of the ‘villain’ character as well, but we can and have seen people go in not liked on initial impressions sometimes for the caricature they present in their opening VT and actually have some journey/development arc, or shown there’s another side to them.

And I think that’s a really cool part of the social experiment part of Big Brother, having people from all walks thrown together and having all manner of conversations and viewpoints.

As long as it doesn’t detract from other goings on of the game in the house too much going into political tangents and such or become a bullying etc situation where BB has to step in, rather than some of those that are saying why are we platforming them/having these conversations and assuming or jumping to conclusion they are just going to be a stereotype or whatever, let them cook a bit iykwim.

For example can you imagine them airing something like the 2004 Paul/Merlin citizenship argument in this years show?

I dunno it’s just an observation I’ve made lately.

Given the early comments, I decided to watch tonight's episode on delay at 150% speed (that's one way to make overly long transitions less long...).

Liked hearing more of the BB theme through the ad intros and outros, keep it up👍. When Mel said "and later, live nominations" - they're not live. The announcement is, the head housemate power is, but the actual nominating is not. Let's not tell lies here...

Soppy music with Colin in DR, argh.......🙄. Fast forward, fast forward, fast forward .... Nice to see the ad break at 7:53 pm skipped the unnecessary padding with Mel 👍 - more of this please during the DS segments. Also, what's with this echo during BB's head housemate announcement? I find it distracting.

Now on to Michael's interview with Mel - how awkward is this without a seat???? 🫠 Wait... his chat wasn't even 3 minutes long! Some traffic lights have taken longer to change than this 😵‍💫.

When Big Brother delivers which housemates are nominated the suspenseful music is far too loud. Can barely hear BB! I have an idea: Let's just axe this music altogether, please!

Why don't they at least bring out a couch and a roof to that stage? I can't believe they're using the entry path still as the interview and hosting space?

Did they use up too much space for the house this year and don't have a place to host? If they fixed that part, it would feel so much more settled in and comfy, at home. And will give the host time to sit down and actually have a proper chat.

I've only watched a bit and tired of seeing audience members limbs all over the staircase.

Cutting out Michael calling out Alanah/Mia/Abi? for "Playing the victim" in his goodbye message sucked, was looking forward to seeing that part.

Also the power is stupid, should be forced to save one like the old days, would be way better television to see Holly put Conor Colin up there. Not a huge fan of immunity either, the power is basically immunity enough (And would 100% have been immunity for Holly lol), and it's great to see them accidentally put themselves up for nominations.

Thank. God. For the livestream, it's basically the main show for me now. Happily it seems to be doing well so we aren't likely to lose it next year.

probably gonna be a bit controversial here, Although i was initially critical of a lot of their choices, very disappointed at the start of the season and wanted a strict copy of OG big brother, im actually starting to get behind a lot of their decisions and can see why they’ve made them.

although initially i wanted the show strict to back to basics, i now think i’d rather them please and cater for the larger audience which is the casual viewer and for the show to rate well.

although at the start i absolutely hated the music added in daily shows, i now think it is necessary, although i do think maybe it has been used abit much. i don’t think a casual viewer these days would be able to sit through a show, reality tv specifically without getting bored at some point without some type of music added in, in their brains the show would feel very slow and a snooze fest. for the casual viewer, their brains are most likely programmed for this to be expected to come with a show. i 100% think it’s fine in transitions, start of ep, during task reveals and some light hearted moments like secret tasks and maybe just some moments occasionally although i’d probably strictly keep it to that otherwise it does just feel like a generic overproduced show which would lose authenticity.

i am actually enjoying the mix of music used in the live shows, traditional bb theme grounding the show and don’t know what to call it but pop/modern music, whatever tf it is, which i definitely think would appeal to a casual viewer and keeps it fresh. just because it is big brother, i don’t think they need to stick to the theme, and i think it’d get boring.
