Well I read your comment as making a connection between David commenting on Lisa's breasts to him being an abuser. Which seemed like an outrageous leap to me.
I've read through your comments to try and understand what you're saying and I'm just not sure I'm getting it. Are you saying commenting about someone's breasts is sexist or am I over simplifying things?
Making one comment may or may not be sexist, but the male culture that simplifies women in terms of their beauty is harsher and more critical than the kind of discussions women may have about men. I'm saying that socially ingrained judgements of women's beauty is detrimental to their self-worth, so it's important to encourage people to be sensitive around that and not purport the idea that it's 'normal' and 'fair' for women in to judged in that way, when men don't experience that kind of scrutiny on that systemic, day-to-day basis. Saying 'boys will be boys' doesn't help gender equality at all.
