Yeah. Very odd. He seems awkward and then he does something that only a confident person could pull off.

I know I go from thinking him boring then odd then really entertaining and witty then wondering is he an actor then no he's real. It's a conundrum

He has put on that bogan accent as a joke several times now inside the house.

But his video says otherwise. As Cowie suggested, he said it with such confidence and a way to play the audience. It was really, really odd and out of character? This is the guy who is apparently "out of the circle" a bit and self conscious, etc. Was very bizarre imo.
