Episode Day 21 (28/09/2014) Daily Show (Sunday)

One TV guide tells me it's going from 9pm to 10:30pm, another says 9:30pm to 10:30pm and a third says 9pm to 10pm.

Does anyone know when and how long this show is "officially" meant to be on?

If Channel 9 didn't cram so many fucking ads into every night time TV show and scrapped the unnecessary recapping of previously seen footage on reality shows, their programming would be able to stay on schedule.

The thing is though, the two good shows a week are very much tainted by the other four. I mean, I'm glad that Alex is still trying to pump out a good show when he can, but the "when he can" part really rubs me the wrong way. What's the point of even having those two good episodes when they're smashed to pieces again just a couple days later? I feel like this past Thursday did a good job of rebuilding certain broken things and I honestly felt engaged with what was going on, but it means nothing if tonight I have to watch a bunch of incoherent, disengaging footage. We're back to square one each and every week!
I know. I don't like the whole "when he can" part either but I'm grateful that it's at least there. Especially after my constant bitching last season about no proper live streams while we at least got the hourly updates. Now the one thing I was bitching about is kaput. I just think we have to be realistic. Ch 10 said when they ditched BB that ratings were dropping and the format was tired becuse "there were few new surprises in the format, leading to reduced viewing figures". And that was 6 years ago!! Audiences as a whole are too savvy, have too many other options and are too used to whatever twist reality tv sends their way. We see through it all whereas people keep harking back to a time when this was a totally new genre and forget that it was politicians who were a big part of sanitising it in the first place. Even now all the protests about bullying with Gemma's eviction shows what the state of BB's average viewing audience is. And that's coming from someone who didn't like her eviction at all but from the media and social media fallout it's clear that the viewing audience and our culture as a whole now has changed. I don't know...I'm just tired of trashing the show because I do still find enjoyment from it. There are episodes I don't like and then others that get me right back in and wanting to watch/vote.

I can just see my reaction to Sandra's thirstiness tonight

P.S - was working the books at work, and saw Sam's biography! - thought it was interesting a housemate has a pre-existing book, thought that would make him ineligible as just a "regular guy".

I'm so ready to watch another episode ruined by the grubby paws of Channel Nine. I wish they'd just hand it back to the producers. They do a better job.
