Episode Day 19 Daily Show - 27/11/2025

The problem being that the relationships are the central emotive theme inside the house.
not enough time
Skilled TV producers and editors can fit more than one storyline into a 1 hour episode. I know some people love showmances and we can still have them, along with other storylines for variety. We can see from the live streams that housemates are absolutely talking about other things in the house.

A big criticism I have of the daily shows is that production seems to only have the resources and/or talent to be able to include one storyline per episode, and it’s usually Colin and Holly.

In fact, there really has been only 1 storyline this entire season - Holly and Colin. It’s growing old even with the showmance lovers and shows a lack of creativity and motivation to do anything else.

Even the Channel 7 era episodes had more than one storyline going at a time - however they also had weeks to months to edit the footage, so maybe the team at Endemol Shine just don’t have the ability to do good edit work with 24 hour turnaround.

Previous seasons of BBAU had multiple showmances going at the same time. However the 30 minute episodes still managed to follow other storylines to give variety for the viewers who aren’t interested in that.

This entire week's worth of episodes have been heavily skewed in favour of Bruce and/or Holly going. Notice how the other two nominees have barely featured this week? (And the content has definitely been there for them to do so.)
But in a vote to save format dont you want it this way? If they show next to nothing of people what reason do you have to save them if you hardly know they exist?

Yeah, somehow with double the airtime we're getting less story than the OG era. It's feels like they've forgotten what BB is at its core and are treating it like a Bravo production instead.

I'm really disappointed that Bruce's convo with the girls didn't make the cut for yesterday. Even from the snippets we got on the live feed, it's one of the more compelling convo's to have happened in the house.

Instead we get more of the same will they/won't they have Hoggy and Colon which is just exhausting (and not in a compelling way). Even the people living with them are tired of it, but that tension is barely making the edit either because it might undermine the two forced favourites.

I was scrolling through TikTok today and got a video where someone watching the livestream (I assume) noticed at one point Holly was sitting on the couch next to Colin and looked around, and she spotted a camera pointed right at her. She stared for a second and then suddenly starting cuddling up to him for the camera. 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮

Edit: Found it.

Showmance, I am certain she is being paid big bucks to carry on with Colon.

I said this yesterday but if this was 2001-2008, and that was the task, they still would've failed. The guests took it too far, as did the staff, and their unification, working together and dynamic as HMs as a whole was completely compromised.

They should not have passed. At all.

Too soft.
The task was to be the guests from hell. Which is what they did. Any season of the show that would have been a pass

They posted it on Instagram...about half an hour before they did it on the live stream.

There's no way it's legit. Just like everything else "interactive" they've fooled the general public into believing.
You had me in the first half. Lost me in the second

Who do you think would have been evicted if it wasn’t a legit vote to save? I called Michael leaving in the first week and Mia and Jane leaving in the second week based on save to vote and that’s exactly what ended up happening

I had to work all through my 20s

Some of us are still working in our 30s, 40, 50s and beyond
I wish I could work. I never wanted to go on the disability pension. I probably could have gotten on it a lot sooner but didn’t apply for it because I WANTED to work. I was in my mid 20s when I applied for it and felt like a failure. But I had already been diagnosed with nine medical conditions and needed a break from all of the hoops that you have to jump through with Centrelink when on unemployment. So after I had been diagnosed with nine medical conditions I applied for the disability pension. But it was never going to be permanent. It was going to be me not having to deal with the hoop jumping of Newstart because when you’re on disability all of that hoop jumping goes away. I was just going to focus on my health entirely, get my health back on track and then go back out again. Which didn’t end up happening as I’ve been diagnosed with more medical conditions since and now can’t even leave my house

All that to say a lot of people don’t realize how much purpose people have from working and contributing to society. A lot of the time I legit feel like I don’t have a purpose. I don’t know why she was crying talking about having to work

OK, I'm coming in late here. I watched the episode late last night. I haven't read much of this thread so I apologise if I am repeating anyone else's comments ...

  • They passed the task. I don't necessarily disagree with that considering the task was all about the secret mission to be "guests from hell" which they did very much succeed. That said, I think they should have won only half of the luxury shopping budget ($250 instead of $500) as punishment for the staff going rogue and eating food and drinking etc.

  • I did see a lot of hypocracy when Coco went crazy over the coconut water. I mean, she complained about being staff, didn't want to do the job, etc etc ... and then gets a luxury that she loves at the end and goes all happy-jumping-up-and-down crazy about it. Hypocracy girl, hypocracy. To be fair though, I didn't think she complained as much as Ed and Bruce.

  • I normally can forgive a little bit of showmance stuff. Key words "little bit". But the Holly and Colin crap taking over the last half of this episode had even me wanting to vomit. I mean, seriously, surely there must have been some better stuff to show us. What we saw could have been cut right down in to a smaller package. And, for hecks sake, what the damn hell does Holly see in that guy?! To tell him we'll see how this goes on the outside, and it may last for two years or longer ... or not ... is, well, I dunno ... what does she see in him!? I'll never understand "love". Never. (Is that even the right word to use here?)
What does Holly see in him? Honestly from my perspective? Votes to stay

I really enjoyed the have / have nots task this week. Knowing we only have a week left is crazy and depressing tbh. It just feels like things are only just starting, which we all predicted when the dates came out that it was only going to be 4 weeks. Though last night's episode, being the Holly and Colin show, made me rethink that I wanted the show to be extended any further. I'm so sick of them.

Catching up on Tues-Thursdays eps I think in one of them I noticed Conor was barely in the edit for the majority of the ep until maybe the end other than making a 'meep' when Bruce was flipping his shit about the vent cover and a bystander in the group convo about continuing the task or whatever in the yard until he pops in at the end with 'so... can I grab a coffee?'

To be fair there is only so much of a relationship that an audience could tolerate. If it’s just the “happy couple” and footage of a happy couple then it’s boring af. The interesting part is how everyone else sticks their nose in it, and I for one am finding that interesting how they navigate it.

Same here Colin is so immature enough of the pretend love sick couple its so fake. Holly wouldnt introduce a guy to her family when every second word is dude this bro that....or is he putting on an act?
