Episode Day 18 Daily Show - 26/11/2025

Agreed, but Ten is footing the bill. Unfortunately, aside from a longer run next year I don’t expect much to change format wise.
I don't have any big problems with the format, some adjustments and improvements each year and I'll be happy. What's important is that they keep making new seasons. Arguably, the housemates themselves have far greater value than the production of the show.

Indeed the housemates themselves have great value, but how the show is being run and edited presently isn’t allowing them to do what they were cast for. This format adjustment we’re getting is a heavily edited reality soap. Or a reality drama. Neither are the promised “OG” which many members are annoyed about.

Arguably, I’m not convinced this specific cast is likable from any angle. But that’s subjective and just my opinion.

Yeah the editing is something which is debatable. People want raw, but production also think that audiences today want to be nanny fed and need to be entertained, so the stockpile for the final edit is more than likely based upon what they cannot ignore, the things that they cannot supress that might bubble to the surface - eg. Holly & Colin relationship dramas, Holly talking about Allana behind her back - these core things that will affect relationships in the house are things they can't ignore. Then there's the produced side of the show - the tasks and how the tasks affect the housemates and things related to what building materials they have put expense into. It's a load off (savings on) editing time to show the housemates stretching for 10 minutes and telling us 'its a new day'.

But this season, we have the live footage (for what it's worth, and what we're able to get out of it - only one camera feed for us which is frequently muted and half the time it's watching the fishbowl). Still, this is WAAAY better than we have had in years. Just this novelty is making this season so cool for me. Give us a second camera and I'll be cheering big time. This forum + live feeds + daily shows 6 days a week is a great step forward.

An official diary and more raw footage added to the daily shows, and special features like psychologists (what happened to Carmel!) would take it to next level. The mix of cast needs more thought from the agents - a good casting agent knows what mix of characters is going to make the show great. I feel like that is missing this year - while most of them are pretty good on TV, able to talk and have some personality quirks, they are still rather mundane, and the mix is lukewarm at best. Hardly any of us (if anyone!) has publicly admitted, that "this housemate is my man / gal!!".

My hope is that they will get excited behind successes this year and bounding with ideas on what they could do to make this a much more fun experience next year.

💯 perfectly said.

Just watched the episode and they have left some conflict out of the show but overall they have covered it. I think Holly and Bruce have pissed the production team off so they gave them the villain edit but they actually deserved it with their privileged carry on.

Coco saying about Bruce is 💯.

Colin didn't receive as much coverage on his anger as he should but I think the other housemates' behaviour was more egregious so he got let off as a result.

Agreeing with this. No one stands out as someone I would love to meet IRL

Who I would jive with:

Coco - Yeah, but she's mundane
Bruce - Decent enough but he comes across as quite arrogant
Allana - Would definitely vibe with her. We'd most likely get along
Abiola - Probably for a laugh. Mary Jane in the alley outside the club
Colin - I would not hang with him, immature and his conversation style shits me
Conor - We would get along like a house on fire, I like him, but I would get tired quickly ha.
Edward - Reminds me of tradie guys who come fix things in my house, decent. But a bit up there in the blokey bloke crap.
Emily - I think we could get along but I feel like I don't really know her.
Holly - I feel like she could be fun to joke around with, interesting lady. She is a manipulator though.
Jane - Hells no.
Michael - From what I saw of him he seems like a bit of a jerk. He's around my age, we'd get along being middle aged but I've heard some things he said that I don't like.
Vincent - Wouldn't jive with him. I like that he likes his nonna, but that's about it.
