Episode Day 11 (18/09/2014) Daily Show

Did I miss Dion and Jason's and Sam and Ryan's task? Or did they actually just skip to the semis without showing us...? =/

They had semis?!

Seriously, wtf!! This is by far the worst Big Brother edition of the franchise, which is seriously depressing considering I am Australian. How can you spend 30 minutes showing a nominations ceremony (on episode 9) and completely skip an entire round of "the biggest task in the history of this household". Who even cares about nominations? There are 4 couples up for nominations, out of 7, so more than 50% of the people who can actually be nominated. And out of those couples we haven't seen all the footage so there is no way of the audience actually knowing who these housemates are. And we can't even evict the couple we dislike, we just have to "vote to save" our favourite, which in itself is completely ineffective. Then even after that the whole pair doesn't even go, it is just one person from the couple chosen by the housemates themselves. Ultimately nobody even cares about who goes home because this series is a complete disaster. I am so glad that Alex Mavroidakis is in complete control of this train wreck because when he is the reason that a major Tv series was cancelled he will never be invited to produce a Tv show again *cue heavenly angels singing*. The most like format of Big Brother to ours is the UK season and the first nomination ceremony took place over the entire day and was broken up with footage of the housemates going about their day. This episode was 45 minutes total and was easy to watch. Whereas in this show the nominations took up an entire 30 minute block of the show, without breaks. Which is great for me because now I know when nominations start I can end watching the episode and go online to see who is up, and then not vote once and see the people leave who deserve to leave anyway. It is seriously not hard to kill a show where you place people in a house to live for 80 days. You need a house, people and 80 days.. where is this going so wrong? I am sorry to rant so much but when I was watching tonight's episode and saw that Jason and Dion had won their round without no prior footage, there is only so much you can take..

Bang on the money with your post. Agree 100% with all you have mentioned.

I don't mind her. She speaks her mind, and I like that quality in a person.

She is a serious little big monkey, that is for sure. But she adds an element that is interesting, and l enjoy watching her.

I have a feeling that if she is still there, that there might be a task soon, where the team with her in it, has the advantage of her height.

He's definitely growing on me!! I hope he doesn't go this round at least. Though I think Gemma has it in the bag to go..

With the housemates choosing who goes, I would have thought it was a no brainer to send the most popular contestant home. The likes of Gemma and Dave will be nominated nearly every week and can be picked off at will. They might not get too many chances to remove Jake or Sandra, because on their own, they seem inoffensive. It looks like the pairs will end after this week anyway, I cant understand why anyone would waste money voting, when they dont have the REAL power. Its one of the worst decisions for many years IMO.

Haha told you -Sandra is completely repulsed by him.

I have just watched the ep and read through the thread. I have seen a few people post that Sandra is repulsed by David and was uncomfortable on the pole. When they were on the pole you could see them in the background of some shots and she was rubbing his back in a very comfortable and affectionate way. She also had her hand up his sleeve at one stage. I don't think she is that repulsed if she is doing these things. If I was repulsed by someone I wouldn't rub their back or slip my hand up their shirt sleeve. Just my take on it :)

I think some posters at the start of the show seem to be taking David the wrong way (about his views on marriage) just like the HM's do lol

I don't think he really thinks marriage is like that, or bad...
Wasn't he the one on Launch Night telling Sonia that he hopes he finds a long-lasting marriage like his parents?
I think with the HM's joking around that him and Sandra bicker like a married couple, he was just taking that joke and running with it.
it's been joked around for years that once people marry that the sex stops, or you only get lucky on your birthday /xmas.....not that it's true

I do think the HM's treat Gemma a bit like David and she's social awkward as well but what annoyed me on last nights show was Gemma telling Jake that she will get the Sympathy vote and he will get the Likeable vote...
I hope she isn't playing the victim herself with her pillow hitting tantrum etc to get the public's sympathy.
I think you are quite right about David. I think it's his sense of humour, and not many people get it, he is growing on me, I kinda feel sorry for him, I don't think he is a bad person, just a little misunderstood. Now in regards to his beard, from what I have seen of some pics that sweet geek posted pre beard, he is gorgeous, maybe he is insecure and hiding behind it:confused: Now with Gemma, not too sure about her, she is socially awkward and a little tactless, and I think she would be hard to warm to.. Just my opinion:p

Missed the ep last night so caught up today. My thoughts so far:
- Liking Sam, especially his advice for David on bringing his issues up before next nominations.
- HATE Travis, he is an insufferable little twat.
- I think David might be my favourite housemate.
- I really do like Aisha, she fits in with Lawson really well.
- Cat has had hardly any airtime but anytime she speaks my little girl crush gets stronger. She's so intelligent yet she has a lot more patience for Travis than I could muster.
- I've tried so hard to like Gemma but OMG is she annoying. Telling Lawson his gf wouldn't like this, bitching about how Dave approached the group even though she admitted she feels similar. I hope she goes home this week.
- Jake is so loyal to Gemma though, it's quite sweet. Sandra should take note.
- I'm glad Sandra and David seem to have patched it up a bit. I think Dave really wanted the money but didn't want to push her considering how much flak he's already got from her/the group. He's a sweet dude. I would so stroke his beard.
- Lawson is HOT. That bod mmm-mmm.

I liked that ep though, felt a lot more relaxed. I really do like these housemates I just want to see MORE.

I recorded Tuesday and Wednesday's episodes and watched last nights, it feels like I didn't miss anything. Still going around circles!

What bothers me about the show this year is that I'm confused by the continuity - It's so choppy and it's hard to get a good idea of what's going on and when things are going on. That's my only criticism - oh, and of course the fact that the majority of contestants know someone from previous seasons - oh, and the fact that they are all around the same age - oh, and the fact that 99% are Caucasian.

I think Priya understands David humour although it might be because she is a stand-up comedian, as she mentioned him being dry- witted.
a few of the girls have said bad things about his beard and I think Skye and Aisha probably think its eww as well...it does make him appear older/dad and like a bushranger, so I think if he didn't have that bushy beard the girls wouldn't have been so hard on him with his jokes or whatever.

BB does show Cat saying some wise words to the HM's and she seems nice but Priya saying she thinks Cat is holding back...maybe Cat is trying to keep in everyone's good books?

That's true, I was going to add I think Cat is a lot like Priya but more charismatic or something. Maybe she is just holding back a bit. I'd love to see her stay to open up a bit more though.

Could she be sitting on the fence? I'm sure he is hating being paired up with someone who does not even know who mother Teresa is. I think she is trying to not cause waves, which is smart ides to get along with the entire house, but on the other hand it means she won't be getting lots of screen time.

In the meantime I think Sandra was right to give up on the task. BB won't let a pair win that's at risk to be evicted. The money, all of it, has to stay in the house, so people can be manipulated into spending it.
But then... if the winning pair receives the least votes, BB could make them bribe the others when they have to vote who stays in... That would be interesting to watch. On second thought, I don't really think that will happen.
(Is a nominated pair still in the game?)

He really is just a LUMBERING OAF.

Prisus comes across as a lot more confident and comfortable with herself than Cat. Cat actively goes around seeking approval with inane conversation topics like "who likes who in the house". Bitch please.

And you can TELL she finds Travis absolutely ABHORRENT. Who can BLAME her.
