Episode Day 11 (18/09/2014) Daily Show

Ads pay the bills I know... But really?

This is why I normally just watch online later.

This is why I record it and watch it and skip through the ads. It takes me longer to catch up on here, than to watch the programme itself. Thats about 50 minutes, minus 20 minutes of ads. On here 34 pages. I must say that here is more entertaning than the programme. Did I miss the 4th quarter final of the pairs competition? Who was it between and who won, I could see male pictures? Just wondering if I missed it, or whether my senility is kicking in, or more likely they stuffed up the editing and forgot to show us :-).

This was the whole group together in the Diary Room whilst in the house though.

I know my head's not necessarily in the same space as a TV producer's; but ... heya, whoa; "isolation", "lockdown", "no contact with outside world".. and then flashy ads (*that because of the love of the, um, less than usual sources for after-hours viewing and unstable work hours, I'm definitely not in a survey household...)

I *know* you get it ... just SO PISSED OFF about the manipulation of established rules...

(ps, didn't you say yesterday you were going to bed? Tell me you've slept; because your frequency of posting makes me doubt)

I've also this week changed from starting work at 5am to starting at 1pm. I'm as jetlagged as hell. If I make no sense it's a) that; b) bourbon; c) me. <3

Did I miss Dion and Jason's and Sam and Ryan's task? Or did they actually just skip to the semis without showing us...? =/
Exactly what I was thinking - seems they skipped it completely, the task where the Heads of House face off against a pair they create to weaken in an effort to win the cash, a decision they spent 90 minutes of live TV on on Monday night.

And I'm fed up of the "poor David" show. The only saving grace for tonights episode was Skye barely got a look in.

Yeah, I had this show in the background while I was playing Marvel Avengers Alliance on FB. It seems we did miss a part of the task.

Neighbourhood kids set one up to slide into our pool years ago. Had to take one kid home with a cracked head. Yep, mother of the year I was. Was not serious btw, you know how head cuts bleed, but they can be dangerous. My kid cracked his head on the same neighbour's swing set and needed stitches so I guess the other mother won.
That's awful - bet it took you ages to get the blood out of the pool! ;)

So Sandra could only last on the thing for 4 hours, that is piss fucking weak.

In Survivor S2 Tina won an immunity challenge by standing on a poll for something like 10 Hrs and in S10 Tom won the final immunity by standing on a poll for 11hrs.
Sandra was playing for AUS$15,000, the Survivors were playing for a decent shot at $1m (and I think there is a runner up prize of $100k) - and weren't hugging a bloke with a beard.

one of Davids sisters mentioned about the beard in his appreciation thread
"David has been sporting a clean shaven beard for about two years. He went on a ski trip to Japan earlier this year and the growth of the beard built from there. I actually don't think he's that attached to it and part of the reason he kept it was because everyone kept telling him to get rid of it. But that's my take on it not his. We've said from the beginning that it may be subject to a challenge or task but my feeling is it will have to be for something amazing"
Wouldn't be surprised if producers told him to keep the beard, and the beard is probably part of the reason he's in the house.

Re: timings. My download checked in at around the 31 minute mark. It felt a lot longer - and not in a good way!

This. On the proviso he shaves it off and 'wows' everyone. Cue all the chicks wanting to pash him after him 'coming out of the bearded closet'

... It's probably the twist.

I agree. More screen time for Ned and Kelly. I want them to have their own story lines and tasks.
Install some hoops in the backyard for Ned and Kelly to jump through. Too much prancing around and not entertaining enough.

Whoops no, that message was meant for the housemates.;) The dogs are adorable, followed by the flamingos.

I don't mind her. She speaks her mind, and I like that quality in a person.

She is a serious little big monkey, that is for sure. But she adds an element that is interesting, and l enjoy watching her.

If she was ever on our screens that is. Where the hell do Priya, Gemma, Ryan and Dave go whilst the others are reinforcing Travis misguided belief that he's good company???

Very good point.

Your last sentence hits the nail on the head. I like the way you think ;)

I think she is struggling to fit in but she seems quirky and not afraid to say what she thinks even if it comes out tacky. I really hope she stays as we need diversity not all harmonious.

Of course she is. That's why they picked her as a housemate.

I think she just says what a lot of people think.

She won't stay, the general public prove time and time again individuality, difference and diversity is not what the majority want to see in the BB house.

Ha!

I had like a Davidiphony last night and just fell a bit in love with him.

He is my absolute favourite male... Beard, hair part and all!
I hope your Daviphony becomes infectious, the more peeps fighting over the scraps means its easy for good lookin blokes like mwah to score with the hotties 🤣

Seriously, wtf!! This is by far the worst Big Brother edition of the franchise, which is seriously depressing considering I am Australian. How can you spend 30 minutes showing a nominations ceremony (on episode 9) and completely skip an entire round of "the biggest task in the history of this household". Who even cares about nominations? There are 4 couples up for nominations, out of 7, so more than 50% of the people who can actually be nominated. And out of those couples we haven't seen all the footage so there is no way of the audience actually knowing who these housemates are. And we can't even evict the couple we dislike, we just have to "vote to save" our favourite, which in itself is completely ineffective. Then even after that the whole pair doesn't even go, it is just one person from the couple chosen by the housemates themselves. Ultimately nobody even cares about who goes home because this series is a complete disaster. I am so glad that Alex Mavroidakis is in complete control of this train wreck because when he is the reason that a major Tv series was cancelled he will never be invited to produce a Tv show again *cue heavenly angels singing*. The most like format of Big Brother to ours is the UK season and the first nomination ceremony took place over the entire day and was broken up with footage of the housemates going about their day. This episode was 45 minutes total and was easy to watch. Whereas in this show the nominations took up an entire 30 minute block of the show, without breaks. Which is great for me because now I know when nominations start I can end watching the episode and go online to see who is up, and then not vote once and see the people leave who deserve to leave anyway. It is seriously not hard to kill a show where you place people in a house to live for 80 days. You need a house, people and 80 days.. where is this going so wrong? I am sorry to rant so much but when I was watching tonight's episode and saw that Jason and Dion had won their round without no prior footage, there is only so much you can take..
