Holly and Colin need to go. I cant stand how Colin talks into his microphone and then goes up to the cameras, looks into them and acts for the camera. Also last night Holly and Colin got in trouble because they went off by themselves and took their microphones of so they could whisper to each other. At one point Holly said something to him along the lines of "we cant give the viewers what they want this early" when it seemed like they were talking about how interested they are in each other. It seems clear she want a romance/showmance for the sake of the viewers and entertainment.

I swear I saw someone like Colin on another reality TV show really recently. I just can't place what or where. Same gross young person styling and silly way of acting. Struggling manner to speak.
He acts like a young silly YouTuber who thinks he's all that. He reminds me of this animated character Chase from YouTube's What If/Chase Dies in Space channel. He acts very similar to him: šŸ˜…

Loved the launch! I was just frothing’ everything! It was a trip! Yes my expectations were low, and apart from wanting a bit more cultural diversity in the house, loved every second.
Also, someone needs to control my wifi access or I might lose my job. I am SAT for the live feed. Send help!

They are going to when they see them spinning around and zooming in on them. Always loved that AU hid their cameras. This will keep happening.

Those comparing Mel to Gretel. You have to remember you are comparing the experienced, polished version of Gretel who could host a live BB show with her eyes closed come 2007 with Mel doing her very first one. I thought Mel was fantastic, massive upgrade on Sonia.

Overall I think they’ve done a great job with the cast. At first I thought they’d gone overboard on big personalities and there were too many extroverts causing a wall of noise but I had to remember it was night one and they’re all excited and chatty. They’ll naturally find their roles over the coming days.

I must say, whether it is the production style in 2025 or something else, it felt nothing like OG Big Brother. It felt closer to Channel 7 to me… in saying that though, a channel 7 version that includes the original format, live feeds, and Mel as host over Sonia could still be really good. Sort of re-setting my expectations to align with that. For whatever reason I just don’t think the magic of the early 2000’s can be captured in this day and age with how reality tv and the world in general has evolved. This series definitely has potential though!

I also agree with the consensus on here, longer opening credits and no fucking music during daily show highlights for the love of god! Completely ruins the vibe.

Last thing, I don’t know if I’ve just got used to streaming services without ads like Netflix, however, fuck there were a lot of ads… Once the housemates were in, it felt like we’d get 2 minutes of daily show content and then another fucking ad break… I hope the actual daily shows provide a better content to ad break ratio. Did anyone else feel this or is it just me?

Also forgot to mention, something about the house feels off. The layout, the proximity to park patrons. The fact people on rides can SEE the backyard.

If this returns next year they need to find a better solution. The house just ain’t it and is contributing to the lack of ā€œmagicā€ the early 2000’s had.

First time I had seen Mel, thought she did great.

There's way too much snarkiness and bitchiness here, about such tiny and insignificant things. Also finding the nicknames some of you are giving housemates are so deplorable and disrespectful. Use the housemates actual names and show some respect.

Personally I think it's a great group of people this year, and it feels REAL again, unlike the ch7 rubbish that was survivor in a house.
lol girl are you new new ?

Most to Least Memorable. Least for me would be Edward. When 'ttI saw his name on the cast list I didn't even remember there was an Edward who went in. The HM I would like to see more of is Abiola.

I don't see Mia as least memorable either.

I think I voted Michael for Least Memorable on the app. Or maybe it was Emily.

I wish I copied my answers so I can compare when they finally reveal the results.

I don’t recall anyone comparing Mel to Gretel. Mel has had non-stop praise on here since she was announced.

I agree with your post though. I think the disappointment of the closer similarities to 7 and the current BBUK models compared to the original 10 model are echoed pretty much by most on here. Some high up producer somewhere thinks the UK version is the model template for how the show should be produced. As many have said, a little more originality would’ve gone a long way.

The house is a whole other rabbit hole. They can’t do anything about the piss poor house decisions now, but they can certainly tweak some other stuff, such as the editing style.

It’s a promising start and I hope some effort is put into refining their product.
