Episode Day 0: 2025 launch day taping spoilers and speculation

So this housemate who supposedly was a risk? The guy who is far-right and is ‘anti-woke’ (from what I’ve heard).
They did this in the current season of BBUK it created interesting footage for two hours and then got really old really fast because every episode became about political arguments. Australian audiences will definitely not be receptive to this if it happens.

BBUK has been rife with them this year and I'm sick of it. Can't believe it's happening on BBAU as well. And the fact they think it's "incredibly risky" means they know full well what they're doing (not that ITV doesn't – I just mean that it's just as scummy 😬).

We've had a really awful misgendering of a trans Housemate, a Tommy Robinson supporter, an incel Nazi who got removed for (by his own admission) "justification for the Holocaust" – and literally still in there is someone who's managing to pass as this year's "token Tory" even though she's a Terf who's literally worked for Charlie Kirk. (She was evicted on Day 1, but got brought back.)

It's been miserable, and I was counting on BBAU to be my escape from it. At least I can count on Australia to put up a less flimsy resistance to it. 😄

As much as Caroline sucks, this doesn't deserve to be included in this list. Caroline was asking a question about who out of the other HMs Nancy would want to repopulate the world with, and got an answer that made no sense (as she was unaware someone else had rephrased her question).

Her response was poorly worded as she spoke without thinking, but wasn't intentional and was just a mistake. Her intention was to convey that Nancy and Zelah couldn't possibly repopulate the world together.

If Caroline had changed her behaviour over the course of the season I'd agree with you. But she's shown a repeated pattern where she says horrible things then tries to sweep it away with "I just want to have a conversation" or "it's just a joke". I've seen this play out too often IRL - she knows what she's doing.

When she heard Nancy was pansexual, she asked whether she has sex with pans. 🤷‍♂️ I didn't include that on the list, because it was stupid and ignorant, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she was trying to be "silly".

HOWEVER she said repeatedly, in front of the whole House AND to Zelah's face, that he wasn't a man because he "doesn't have a willy".

I'm sure she didn't mean for it to slip out on TV, if that's what you mean, but no one "accidentally" says stuff like that unless it's what they actually think. And as @Tim says, she made no effort to learn afterwards. Weird to try to defend her tbh.

I would hope if a similar weather event occurred, they'd just film Mel in the control room.
My money is on a cover getting put up pretty quickly over just the stage area in the next week or so. Last night would've been a bit of a wake up call since the future shows are all live and they won't have the luxury of being able to wait it out.

I agree, it would be a very wise investment, even if it's a short run. With a minimum of 2 live shows per week, it's not worth the risk leaving it as is.

Was just talking to my husband about the anti-woke token housemate and he brought up a good point: When it was done on BBUK this year the other housemates were mostly intelligent and articulate enough to keep it all relatively in check. I don't have the same confidence that the other BBAU housemates will be able to do this. The far-right idiots tend to suck up all the air time if not contained properly.

Dreamworld has awnings and tarps all over the park. This can’t be a huge task for them. Although I could see it obstructing the wide shots showing the park behind the stage.

Someone mentioned it was a budgetary reason as to why it wasn’t initially installed. Likely why the living area doesn’t have a ceiling. Budget, budget, budget.
