David Appreciation Thread

Less Talk, More Action For Power Player David

resizer.aspx

Ryan has passed The Power baton onto David, but what will befall the House with Strategy Dave leading the team?

Australia decided to (as Ryan put it) “let him off the leash”, giving David full rein when it came to holding the most Power in the House.

His first Power Play? To invite just one of the Housemates residing next door, BACK into the House for a party (after hearing their pleas of course). “The person I did choose was Cat,” David reported back to HMs.

His motive? Not as pure as his HMs in the Sanctuary gave him credit for. The four had expected him to choose Cat, knowing he was closest with the fairer half of #Clawson. But – unfortunately for Cat – his true intentions weren’t so gallant.

“We’re all up for Nominations and we need the public to continue to see their relationship,” David whispered to Aisha in the Backyard – explaining why he didn’t choose HER House beau, Travis.

“It’s survival of the fittest in here,” he declared, despite admitting he felt “ice cold” for selecting Cat for that reason. Aisha didn’t seem too surprised, and let David know she thought his decision was “smart”.

But did Aisha really admire David’s plan to keep #Clawson in the spotlight (and the minds of the voting public), or did it actually sound alarm bells for one half of another House couple?

“I love Dave so much but I watch what I say around him,” Aisha confessed to her gal pal HMs in the Parlour.

And while Lina disagreed with Aisha’s wariness (“I don’t see that from him”) – Penny was totally on board.

“Smart people will use your weaknesses against you,” said Penny, all wide-eyed and serious (for once).

Do we trust Aisha with that?
It was interesting though to hear David and Aisha say some good things about each other, after getting to spend more time together with the others in the sanctuary.
David has never nominated Aisha, where she's nominated him once, and when paired up with Lawson
David has also never nominated Cat,Travis or Ryan

Do you mean the delay between pulling a strategic move and it actually have an effect on the voting public? They need to know they need to pull strategic moves three or four days early. David's choice of Cat probably had little to no bearing on the result.
I wonder if Cat will get a surge of sympathy votes after Lawson's eviction, with some people thinking their 'love story' isn't so bad after all?

I am actually going to throw Leo some votes tomorrow now Dave is safe. Both for the reason you mentioned and because he's in my top 3 and I felt sorry for him tonight :(
Yeah I felt sorry for Leo because we heard that Skye was now crushing on Ryan with Leo next door, and then Skye choosing Priya over Leo to come visit.
I'm hoping to see if anyone tells him what had been going on...otherwise I guess he will hear this thoughts about it, if he's evicted tomorrow night.

I was just reading Tim Dormer's thread and saw @davidftw had asked if he was sent into the house with specific instructions to get David to "lose the beard"? and Tim replied that 'Daves shave was my own doing. The producers actually said they didn't think I would be able to do it.'

Yep, Tim was answering questions quite quickly and in real time over on his thread at about 1.30am. So I took the opportunity to ask whether the beard shaving was a specific producer request. Apparently not.

Good job on asking!

Tim was on these forums quite a bit before entering the house. A lot of us asked him if he could get Dave to shave the beard, and stated that maybe it will change the hms opinions on him if he did. So I believe the forums were the reason he asked Dave to shave the beard and for those reasons too

I'm on a high after that. He got such a good edit :)

How are you feeling @MelKen @BigSisterEm?
I am super stoked he is top 4 - keep telling myself it was my extra votes that got him there but I know really it was a massive team effort by us all and I am super proud of us all.
Really hoping David gets the deadly dozen and if I was him I would use 1 point each to see where priya, Skye and Ryan were and then throw 3 points each their way to try to knock out another big player as we know each week now has to be at least a double. I would be keeping the new housemates in as long as possible as they haven't for the same fan base as the originals so you stand a good chance against them.
In an ideal world I would like the other 2 couples broken up which would mean Leo and either Aisha/Travis going tomorrow and if I had to pick I would prob want Aisha gone as I reckon Travis will go mad with that and might end up going a bit crazy and lost followers.

David and I spoke a lot about wether he would shave the beard and he always said it would have to be for the right reasons. Would have liked it to have been later in the show but then I hated the beard so happy to see it gone!

Oh I bet you guys were cheering when it was off! Your mum seemed so happy when she spoke to Mike goldman that he had shaved it haha. I didn't mean David didn't do it for the right reasons, sorry if that's how it read . I meant that Tim convinced him that it could be a gameplay moment that can change the course of his game and give him momentum because it really was a defining moment for him.

I liked David before the shave, I not once thought of him better because he shaved his beard. But I will admit that seeing that handsome face underneath was wonderful lol.

The power play David had of bringing back Cat to get the public eyes back on them was pretty clever. In fact it was some brilliant strategy. Unfortunately, even though Lawson got evicted, it wasn't due to Davids great power play because WE DIDN'T GET TO FKG SEE IT UNTIL MINUTES BEFORE THE EVICTION. (yes, I know I'm yelling).
