Housemate Colin discussion

Well, it didn't take long but there has been another incident in the house with Colin getting aggressive. We only saw the aftermath on live stream but Jane was in tears by the way Colin treated her.

9:27pm - Inside Ed is saying to Bruce that "Colin needs to tone it down, he needs to be more respectful".

Bruce says yeah, "I was angry, but he was up here" (gestures that Colin was super angry).

They all agree that Colin needs to cool it down. Just then Colin comes over and they ask if he's ok.

You could go back to the internet's first day and not find a single instance of me saying anything racist, homophobic, misogynistic, fat phobic, etc. Even if it was just one incidence five years ago, it still speaks volumes of his character. You can tell Colin is a POS engaging in the most unconvincing showmance of all time, but what gets me is the sexist attitude of people not only online, but in the house, who act as though Holly is a man-eater breaking poor little Colin's tender heart, as though they're *both* not manipulating the situation. And he just sits there eating up the sympathy with a spoon, completely unconcerned about Holly being unfairly blamed, and never defending her. I'm no Holly apologist, but he's sickening. I can't believe how the promos for this season promised diversity and every single guy minus one is a right-leaning misogynist POS.
 
Reddit is a cesspool. In saying that, Colin scares the shit out of me. Maybe thats why everyone farts around him. He thinks its normal.

while it’s not impossible, i doubt ALL these people are making up allegations against Random Reality TV Contestant #272. it also checks out with his behavior on the live feeds that production refuses to put in the show

Not to sound too much like Mia, but this is ultimately a story about white male privilege and how men still get favourable platforming in Australia.

The "loveable larrikin" trope is only a few steps removed from "boys will be boys". Poor behaviour is swept under the rug and women do not get afforded the same luxury.

I do not like Holly, she's definitely done things wrong but there's also been huge double standards here. How quickly everybody forgot that Colin initiated their contact, was doing the whole head nudges thing and was fawning over her. But he can't possibly be even half accountable for things because he's just a boy and she's everything a woman isn't supposed to be in Australian society.

Australian media thrives on perpetuating these gross ideas. Fifi, Fev and Nick literally have 2 brain cells between them but there's also obviously a commercial arrangement. The audio clips they played would have been supplied directly by Ten's PR team.

We already know how this will end for Colin if he wins or is a finalist, because it happened in 2008
