Bitching on Tahan worse than anything by her

Exactly, so why is it okay for some and not others then?

theres still a right way and a wrong way

For example someone might start a horrible rumour about 2 people, ones reaction could be to cry in a corner and the other might start throwing punches at people and things, but they're both expressing emotion over the same thing so does that make it ok?

Well obviously not punching someone - my point was that some people can vent and go on as much as they want and it's excused while others can get reamed on here for every comment they make. I just think that it's not the action people are reacting to sometimes, it's the person.

It all comes down to how these emotions are expressed. e.g. Someone falls over on their arse in front of me, i think its funny but is it OK to laugh in their face? No - its not 'socially acceptable' and generally frowned upon.

Same kind of thing here. Tahan should of realised that belittling the others items wasn't going to be a good look, regardless of what she thought of them. Its not up to her to decide which items housemates hold dear to them.

I'm not saying she shouldn't express her emotions ever but in particular instances its better just to suck it up and keep quiet (risk coming across like a brat!)

But that's now how she is. She got annoyed, was was annoyed. She vented to her friends and to Big Brother. She did keep quiet towards others. She can't just turn her emotions off. It's unreasonable to expect that.

It's a far worse trait that when someone is upset, to them get shitty at them for having emotions. To bag them out for daring to have emotions.

In the house and on the forums people seem to attack her for her emotions. Confusing the very fact she has emotions we can read with there apparently being some giant big display. When there generally isn't at all.

The suck it up princess attitude is a much worse trait to have.

If someone falls on their arse, it can be funny or not. It's perfectly fine if it's funny and your natural reaction is to laugh. Very few people are self actualized enough to have that urge to laugh and in a microsecond process it's not appropriate and stop themselves. So it's a bad example. It also doesn't really apply here.

The issue with laughing over if someone hurts themselves really extends beyond any initial laugh and what you do. Laughing at someone who needs help ect. Which yeah doesn't at all apply to this situation.

If anything Tahan actually managed the situation quite well. She was shitty, she wasn't having a go directly at people. She wanted space from others. So she kept her distance, told them to leave her alone. Isn't that a socially acceptable way of dealing with her emotions?

Or is she required to be a robot and have a magic off switch with them?

I react to the action... But i do think that sometimes because of things they've done before i react to the person

Most of the time Mikkayla can do nothing right in my eyes, her comment weeks ago about wanting to warn nathan about Tahan was the nail in the coffin so since then i think i react more to her than what she's doing

I've just seen the her and Tahan situation as much like the example i gave before...
They don't like each other, they both continuously get frustrated and pissed off at each other but where Tahan has a bitch and then a full on vent in the diary room away from the other housemates, mikkayla bitches and vents to other housemates although it wasn't until the comment about Nathan that confirmed that she was trying to get people 'on her side' that to me is the wrong way to deal with your dislike of someone, it's between you and them not everyone else

I think each hm gets attacked differently. Some for their behaviour and so people exaggerate the meaning of their behaviour making them sound like the devil. Some get attacked on their looks, age and weight- where it gets as bad as making threads about them and adding awful pics to further make a point. Some are attacked due to intellect etc. I think attacking the way a hm looks is worse to be honest

Agreed. I found the thread about Mikkayla's possible pregnancy was especially hurtful. People were saying no but yes to her putting on weight and it not looking good ect. She is in no way over weight, just not blessed like the other girls, or lacking the motivation to have a strict diet and work out all the time. We can all have a little joke and jab here and there, but some people are taking things way too far. What ever the reason some people are justifying ridicule, I think we need to realise they haven't sacrificed a whole village or something and we all need to just relax!

She is a little bigger around the tummy area, certainly not fat but if they were a regular viewer they'd know it's the biggest complaint the female housemates always make....i think it's the staple diet boating them

I think with BB especially once we settle on someone we're "barracking" for, that's it, and we're pretty good at viewing all the actions in the house through that lens. If you're Team Tahan she can do no wrong and any possible thing Mikkayla says or does will be spun negatively, reverse that if you're Team Mikkayla (or Tim and Ed, or whoever).

I always bring BB back to politics and here it fits really well. The number of genuine swinging voters is pretty small. Everyone else either picked a side through silent intellectual introspection (unlikely), absorbed it from their friends (possible), or either absorbed it from their parents or picked it in protest to their parents (likely). It's hard once you're a rusted on voter to switch sides - or if you do, you do it once during a life changing period in your life. From then on, the other side is garbage and it would take an apocalyptic event for you to vote for them. (I know, it's a huge generalisation, there obviosuly are swinging voters out there who carefully consider the situation each election, but generally most people at some point self-identify as liberal or conservative and, like a football team, that's it until death).

Now, the question of why is an interesting one for me. I think I might have said this in another thread, but I think the show is not so much a popularity contest as it is a personality contest (though same thing, to a degree). You pick the person whose outlook on life and values and reaction to stress you most admire, you promote character attribute X by rewarding someone else with that attribute with money, via Big Brother, hehe. And it usually comes down to the classic divide of the volatile, confrontational personality who is always willing to go at it, who you always know where you stand with but can be a real rollercoaster of drama, versus the more steady, passive, willing to let things go but also willing to let things fester type, with whom friendship is easier and more reliable but you're not always 100 per cent sure where things stand between you.

Hopefully that was a somewhat unbiased description! And I'm undoubtedly a Type B, so if you think I put that in a negative light I'm only bashing myself! In honesty I think what you need is some sort of balance between the two.

Lord of the Flies! Ed abandoned Tahan for Jade and Mikkayla who fanned his ego big time. He ain't her friend no more and I hope Mikkayla goes. I just hate it when she roles her eyes and I want to see the dissappointment in Ed's, Jade's and Mikkayla's face when Tahan gets saved yet again. It would be gold.

I want Mikkayla out tonight, but I agree she is not fat, just like I said before, a bit plump. If she wanted she could be thin in no time. She likes her food, so for now that is what she wants.

I really don't like when people pick on body issue to describe a HM they don't like. Remember Christie (I think) She was fat, but it didn't matter, her personality was really nice.

I loved watching her in the house. I was hurt, when she heard the cameraman behind the glass, saying "come and have a look at the fat girl undressing" She heard it, that was horrible.
