Big Brother UK season 15 - SPOILERS

I think the question needs to be fleshed out a bit more.

I don't think that Channel 9 audiences watching at 7pm on a weeknight could handle the reality. Which explains why we have this Home and Away House Big Brother.

Channel 9 just need something that will compete with what Channel 7 are playing at the time. (Apparently there used to be a Channel 10 too but I've never seen this mythological station).

However if Big Brother were at 10pm like BBUK is (and possibly on a different channel), audiences could handle it. The main problem is that it's ingrained in Australian psyche that Big Brother is a bit of a teenybopper show. It's a shame, because it started with a small edgy, experimental element. Even though Channel 5 took over BBUK and cheapened it a bit, the experimentation element still remains. BBAU has crossed over into cheesy soap opera genre.

Yep I agree on the Australian version. The dilemma is that there basically is no tv viewing audience past 10pm in Australia.

They act like Chris is doing something wrong nominating them, have they seen the show before ? Do they really think he has a choice to nominate or not to nominate ?

Can someone please enlighten me on something... does the general UK culture enjoy crudeness? Like, I actually loathed Winston from the moment his VT aired even before he went into the house. An arrogant, sexist pig, in my opinion, and I can't stand him. Despite what he said in his VT, he got massive cheers upon entering and has been loved all-around and even gets very positive responses from the hosts.

In today's episode, I found the fact that Big Brother himself set up that mission for Winston to be really appalling. "Big Brother loves that story very much." Um...what? It's like they were bathing in how gross it was, and then glorifying it. I honestly don't get it?

I understand that the show airs later which means they can get away with the mature content. In saying that, if it had just been an explicit story told in discussion between HM's or something then this would be a totally different story, but this was literally putting it all right out there.

My personal feelings about Winston aside (I still don't understand the love for him though), but is this type of behaviour/discussion not as typically offensive in the UK as it would be in Australia, per say? I'm genuinely asking this question because it really doesn't seem to affect the audience very much. My point being, I found it quite crass for BB to actually encourage it.

Thoughts?

In a way, I feel that, out of everyone, Jale and Christopher were the right ones to hear that idiot from over the fence. Apart from the info eating Jale up a bit later on, I think they both handled it quite well. It's at least caused caused some drama though.

Edit: Um, nope. Nevermind. I am still watching the ep and wrote that before the bathroom scene. Damnit.

I dont like him either,he just seems like a idiot to me

I am finding it really hard to pick a favourite this year. I have quite a few who I like and have been close to my favourite but they have not yet done something consistently to really stand out as my favourite. The housemates I like are Jale, Chris, Christopher, Kimberley and Matthew.

Pretty much nailed my favs too.

I dont have a fav yet.I remember lasy year I hated Tim at the start and by the end I was rooting for him to win.I like Jale, chris,Christopher so far

Jale was so funny about the overheard public comment. "I won't tell anyone." Then not long after, "I won't tell anyone TONIGHT." Then not long after that, "Hey girls, guess what I just heard ..." Chris was right to think she wouldn't be able to keep quiet.

I didn't like how she was giving Chris such a hard time. All the mean things that Pauline etc said to her and she's kept her cool, but Chris hasn't done anything but what he's been told to do by BB, and he's public enemy number one. Bad time to grow some balls.
