"Big Brother: House of Love" confirmed for late 2023

Totally agree. Once it's no longer live, then the appeal is completely lost. The excitement is that you experience the show alongside the housemates.
We had it really good in the early years.
Live nominations. They never did that in UK BB.

Im up to partway through BBUK5 in my watch but so far BBUK2 had a Live nominations show as a filler for the first Friday show (to use Davina being in the studio but there being no Eviction first week I guess) Iirc CBBUK1 also did it. Davina even had a physical abacus type thing to count nominations tally and everything. Haha.

But yeah we also had those fun Intruder goes in live on ROVE moments and stuff too in BBAU.

The off season hype for this series compared to last years is just sad.
Is it really surprising though? Of course there is going to be more hype when Housemates of the past are returning. Its hard to get hyped up about seeing people on your screen that you previously didn't know even existed - especially when the season is still 6+ months away from airing too.

Not surprising. by sad I meant pathetic.

They should be doing the same thing again this year.

If they're dropping the "House of love" subtitle it's probably because they thought they had it with casting but no housemates ended up hooking up. Classic BBAU casting curse from the Ten days.

Or they realised they couldn't possibly compete with MAFS.

They found out the hard way you just can't recreate magic like Chad and Sophie..................

Thought time. Maybe it's too niche a market, just for people on here. There is a lot of BBAU content created which could be repackaged. "House of Love." Why not just make a series which is a retrospective on some key relationships in the house? While I would bet money it would be too cringe, but it would be interesting to just see stuff focused on the Cat and Lawson relationship. Take out one storyline from a season. Make an episode or a few about it. It surely can't be that expensive.

Just look at youtube. Solo people do all sorts of versions of this stuff. Hell there's the most documented person in human history, who you've never heard of with a 70 plus episode series on their life on youtube. It can't be that expensive to get some editors and writers to rewatch a past season and cut together something. It'd also keep interest in the brand around if low rating cheap content between seasons.

It's kind of odd they didn't do it again.

At this rate if there's another season it'll feature dinner parties MAFS style, with one couple hosting and cooking while Manu and Nigella critique.

Would unironically probably be more interesting than what they're doing.
Nothing is going to work now, they’ve tarnished the BB name again and we’ll have to wait years for another network to bring it back.
It’s really depressing.
