Big Brother Canada: Season 2 Discussion [SPOILERS]

The HoH power is normally reduced in some way through twists because otherwise the gameplay can get too predictable on strategic BB. It could just be about which alliance wins HoH every week and little more as the gameplay is never as cut-throat and flexible as it is on something like Survivor.

Adel made a bonehead move today by taking Allison out of the POV comp with his power without telling her he was going to.
It might very well bite the SS alliance in the ass.

TBH my biggest change would have been to dump the veto and replace it with a public vote... Nominations would have worked similar to the first half of the last BBUS series with 3 nominees... Originally the plan would have been to have the HoH do all the nominating like normal but I actually don't mind the idea of giving a second person nomination power though... The public vote would eliminate one nominee and finalize nominations for the week and the remainder of the HG's would then vote to evict from the final two nominees...
I would stick to the two nominees and just have it that if the Veto is used the public decide the replacement - adds a bit of unpredictability to the routine.

If that's the case you might as well go for a straight up public vote to evict... I have a feeling something like that would just result in the game becoming more of a popularity contest...

I'm not so sure as it would be a wise move for the HGs to keep the nominee chosen by the public.

I do wonder who Canada would nominate if they voted again this week - Sabrina probably still go up but I'd be interested to see how Arlie faired now.

Wow - did not see that coming. Not surprised Arlie is nominated but didn't think he'd nominated Adel over Heather.

Heather Neda and Jon are a solid 3, Heather and Neda convinced Jon to switch from putting up Allison to Arlie
Allison used her secret veto to save Sab who was already going to be safe, it's only a good move if they save Arlie but she did it simply to save Sab :wtf:

i could not have scripted this any better. Arlie will go, the evil gremlins live another week, Adel got a kick up his arse, and Allison put a target on herself, again. best outcome EVER

loving this :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Even in that case it's a bit more like the public directing the action rather than being given a more active role in it... It wouldn't take long for both the public and the HG's to figure out how the power worked and manipulate it... I think in the case of the public voting to remove one of three nominees without a replacement it should still be a two way race between the remaining nominees... Simply having the public name the replacement could potentially create a situation where it's a one way race to the finish line... If anything it should encourage smarter nominations, basically eliminates the backdoor, and the pawn... Both are elements of game-play that I find extremely boring...

That's just a myth... The PoV is often the deciding factor in the weeks eviction and often fringe voters hold the most power in deciding how stays and who goes... In the US game especially the twists are used to further one persons chances rather than shake up alliances and strategies as they should do...

Agreed.
Take this week for example. For a few day at least it seemed that Arlie was going to stay, he was working the gremlins + Allision hard and almost had their votes. Those 3 had the power in this weeks vote not Jon.

Well my perusal of celebrity gossip just got a little x-rated! Ladies and gentlemen-so-inclined the bearded hunk of man candy known as Kenny has gifted the interwebs with a scandalously delicious nude pic. I won't link it directly to protect y'all modesty but you can find it on Perez and various other blogs.

I may need to take a moment.

Kenny's beard really distracted me, i never noticed. KENNAYYY. wonder what he did with the rest of the horse? why aren't the BBAU males leaking?
 :shamefully: ;)

But isn't a big part of the game sucking up to who's HoH? And seeing the power go to someone's head when they are HoH can be pretty annoying.

so Alison gone in the instant eviction (Sabs and Alison were up) and then Adel wins HoH and looking like he'll put the Gremlins up (Sabs and Rachelle) but could backdoor Jon still if one of the Gremlins win the POV...
glad to see Alison gone - she was such a disappointment! and such a pathetic drunk too!
really think Neda deserves to win ... although Heather has played it well too

hope the live feeds will come back up soon !!!
