HI all, didn't know where to post this but I have had some spare time and have made up some various little promos for the upcoming season. I'll be honest they're all pretty similar, I just kept chopping and changing things and didn't realise I had made so many haha... but if you're interested here's the link to the folder:

to borrow another analogy from the autistic adults social group i ran, it took us trial and error to find the event runtime sweet spot.

we initially ran for 2 hours but members complained that just when the momentum of the night was picking up it was pack up time.
we later ran for 3 hours but members complained that after 2.5 hours they were feeling bored/drained hence half of them left early.
we ended up settling on a 2.5 hour runtime, which is long enough to have some fun but not too long to bore or drain the members.

if this new BBAU series' runtime hits the sweet spot then viewers, just like our members, will never complain about this topic again.

How insightful, I personally hope evictions are an hour long and they don’t pack them full of those shitty video packages of the housemates at their best and worst to pad out the time slot, play the housemate best bits after you announce the lines are about to close.

I really think 10 need to give this era the full treatment with both the eviction and nominations taking place in their own shows… They really need to play in to the experience and make the show event TV again. You just aren’t going to get that in a 60 minute live/highlights show.

Part of the reason I despise the ITV era of BBUK is its rushed pacing and overall its lack of atmosphere. I also don’t think “padding” is inherently bad as long as it adds something. Bring back interviews with friends/family, go out and actually talk to the fans etc. Don’t just give us shit for the sake of filling a segment.

The last season of BBUS did a really good job bringing back a sense of grandeur to thier eviction nights that had really become quite drab in recent years.

Just be prepared if it’s not too late to get things - fill the bathtub with water so you have water if you need to flush toilet, have flashlights or even better those battery powered candles, first aid kit, weather radio that is battery or hand powered and can charge phones. Clean water and canned food and a barbecue for cooking too.

I live in Melbourne in a suburb that is (relatively) spared from natural disasters. With the approaching cyclone in Queensland / New South Wales I was hearing a bit on the TV news about disaster preparedness. They mentioned filling the bathtub up with water, but aside from drinking water or cooking, I couldn't think of any other reason why that would be useful. Reading the post above I find myself more enlightened ... "so you have water if you need to flush toilet" ... ha, I didn't think of that one ... isn't it so obvious once you know!

I don’t think Ben realistically knows anything about production, a lot of his tips from 7’s revival never ended up materialising

I would be interested to see how 10 would execute an uplate revival, the old format was tacky but Mike Goldman’s seedy ex-housemate interviews were gold. I’d like to see Uncut and Up-late consolidate into one nightly program without a host that acts as an adults only daily show with uncensored highlights or extended scenes from the daily show that originally had content that wasn’t able to be shown at 7:30.

Channel 7 nailed BBAU uncut during their last series. It was the ONE thing they actually got right.

As for Uplate I wouldn't be surprised if that's just a live streaming window, whether on a TV channel or just on 10Play under the Uplate branding. I think a hosted format is an unnecessary expense really although I guess if the narrator is in daily they could just record an opening to it.

A broken clock (Channel 7 Reality) is always right twice a day.

All you need for any form of an uncut show is slightly more mature content (like riveting discussions about politics, religion, and the global economy), mixed with a few very-brief pans to scantly-clad housemates.

None of this softcore corn show nonsense that got 10 into trouble.

The stakes are much lower this time around for Ten and given the state of their network a “headache” as you put it could be exactly what they need to get eyes on the show.

Also as I see it the core audience at least to start are going to be the Millennials and older Zoomers that grew up watching the OG run and while some like Gayspie may still act like annoying kids they’re well within Uncut’s demographic.

In other words I don’t think Ten can afford not to and they’re certainly not going to face the same government pressures they did when it was originally axed.

Not to mention societal progression, meaning the types of things that got them in trouble in the original run either wouldn’t happen in 2025 or would never make it past the control room.

I am being mindful of the fact their may be underage users on this forum hence am refraining from explicit language.
