ikr? I had completely given up hope of the show ever returning in AU, so this was a real WTF moment. Especially after Seven's ratings for it. I guess we'll find out if we were right all along that people had abandoned it because it wasn't live, had no live feeds, was completely contrived, very poorly cast, etc, etc. Hopefully we'll all be vindicated. We can BRING BACK THE HYPE.
Yes I use Kodi but 10 locked down their channels years ago. But it's a relief to see my VPN is apparently undetected by their system (at least for now). I hope it lasts. Would not be the same to be unable to watch it live with everyone here.

oh yes, ofc. I've lived away from Australia for more than eight years now so I've been using them for all that time. There are very few shows I want to actually want to watch live though so it's been fairly easy.

Everything from the mention of sponsors, brand names, people's names, all the MUSIC, appearance of HMs, hosts, guests, family and friends, as well as the sheer volume of content and episodes, are just a handful of reasons why officially releasing past seasons of reality shows like BB is quite literally impossible…

Pre recorded Big Brother sucked so bad. The Channel 7 era basically obliterated everything that made Big Brother worth watching.
Channel 10 have come at a good time. Does anyone remember watching the original series on 10? I was only 9, it was absolutely revolutionary TV.

When I saw the post from The Project's Facebook page announcing the show's return, I was genuinely excited. Never did I think that a third revival would happen this quickly.
At this rate, given what the Theorist said about names, sponsors, etc., we're probably relegated to the uploads on YouTube.

Not sure about Australian copyright laws and all that, but: The US has all seasons available on Paramount+, Portugal re-aired their first season in 2020 in the run-up to their revival. And most interestingly: Banijay recently launched an independent "Big Brother Classics" channel on a German streaming service that airs the first two German seasons with plans to air more seasons later. They upload clips on YouTube, too. Which was a bit strange because they started to do that in conjunction with their rebooted civilian season. The German team even re-edits all the videos to blur all the shower scenes (at least on YouTube, not sure about the Classics channel because I can't be bothered to subscribe to the service that carries that one). But they keep all the celebrity guests in it.
So I think there is a small possibility that they might do it in other countries as well if rights and laws permit it.. Banijay showed that they'd even do it without the support of a traditional broadcasting partner. But at the same time, I don't think that it would make them a lot of money and justify the effort, even if there is minimal editing. Many of the German YouTube clips that were uploaded recently get less than 2000 views. There is so much to watch these days, who'd take at least an hour each day to re-watch content? And it's not like this content has been unavailable over the last couple of years. You can already watch the entirety of Big Brother Australia online. Hardcore viewers will have already watched it a couple of times. I wouldn't be surprised if they're not following up with their plans to add more seasons to their Classics channel.
