Big Brother back in 2025 on 10! AND LIVE!

Phone voting seems such a dated model now, but I'm sure 10 would like the revenue so it'll be interesting to see how they monetise it.
I am pondering the same thing. I agree phone votes are a very dated method, its very 2000s, but I do agree and think 10 would like to cash in some coin from votes. And regardless if it's dated or not the fans who vote will just pay the 55 cents anyway.

Yeah I'm just finishing off CBB7UK now and every now and again they would donate a small portion of the revenue to charity, during this series a pointed example the 2010 Haiti earthquake occurred, so there was a line added after the eviction numbers from Davina that it went towards the relief efforts (Remember the music artists also did one of those charity fundraising songs iirc).

I also remember some of the phone number suffixes they used to use and which housemate was which LOL, For example Channel 10 era from memory used 061 - 074+ for a while I think, Example During BB2003 I remember Reggie was 61, Saxon was 70 and Chrissie was.. 74 iirc?

Phone voting is only a cash cow if it's in sufficient numbers. At lower levels it becomes a loss making exercise.

App/website voting is much easier to run and verify and a sponsor can likely cover the associated costs.

^ and someone like Optus or Vodafone I can see being involved.

I know someone very close in production and they're saying that 10 might drop it and give it over to SBS! I'm scared for the shows future now - this is very concerning! SBS ISN'T THE RIGHT FIT :(
SBS could do an interesting alternative take on BB, although our other public broadcaster the ABC is way too cultured for a reality tv show like BB.

A public broadcaster having BB isn’t unheard of considering BBUK has its roots on C4, however SBS isn’t C4.

Would the cultured ABC even want to air a reality TV show like Big Brother? I assume most likely not given their disdain for most unscripted content.

If so how would they treat it? I presume the cast would be very diverse, and social justice issues would be covered in content, pissing some viewers off.

What would the political implications be of a show with a problematic history being aired on our main public broadcaster? I can just see the leader of the opposition up in arms on the 6pm news whenever there is a scandal in the house bleating about how our tax dollars are being wasted on airing this junk.

You clearly have misunderstood my comment

Are you fucking kidding me? You can’t be serious with this comment 🙄
anything that is not connected to, or conducted via, the internet is inherently more secure than anything that is.

There is a reason why most democracies have not switched to e-voting for governmental elections even though the technology has existed for a while.

Oh come on, Putin is 100% the reason the sisters won the last Seven season.
Think about it, what's to stop either a foreign actor from interfering with the results of a critical BB eviction to ensure a controversial housemate stays or goes, or a hacking ring tied with a competing sponsor from interfering with the results of a tight BB finale to ensure a desired housemate wins.
