Worth remembering they're not billing this as Celebrity Traitors.

Well that makes more sense, although adding some total unknowns would have been good too.

I’d assume most of the audience would be reality tv watchers regardless of who they put in, so would at least know a few people from the cast.

Assuming 10’s budget wouldn’t be the biggest, I think it’s smart the way they’ve casted it and personally really like the cast.

I think they’ve also done the best they can considering how many other celebrity formats already air on 10, the cast is actually really well rounded and has some surprising picks in there as well. There really is something for everyone in the cast.

I also think it’s important to remember that the UK Traitors has been steadily building its profile for a few years. The opulent and flamboyant nature of the format aligns really well to the ‘prestige’ of higher profile names like Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith or Tom Daley. The Australian Traitors feels like it’s in a much better position to succeed and build a stronger profile - but only if 10 properly backs it and gives it at least 3 seasons to do this.

I wonder if we might see this show earlier than expected in I’m A Celeb’s usual January timeslot? It has just finished filming, and they are already promoting the cast (and briefly uploaded that Gretel clip on their instagram). Though that would put it up against the Australian Open. Maybe a good time to have the best chance to succeed would be between Australian Survivor and MasterChef starting? (April) after MAFS finishes. The two seasons of The Traitors failed to achieve success at this time of year (Sep/Oct/Nov), so it is probably best not to relaunch it again in those months.

2026 for 10 could be:
The Traitors / Australian Survivor / I’m A Celebrity (Easter) / MasterChef (shortened season) / Australian Survivor vs. The World / Big Brother (extended to 8 weeks) / The Amazing Race: Celebrity Edition / End the year with a new reality format

Of course, this is all speculation and mock scheduling . Aus Survivor vs the World and Amazing Race have not been renewed yet, but they did rate decently this year, and maybe it’s too ambitious and expensive for 10 to get a new reality format.
