1000055599.jpgIt is hard to tell if that is the actual stage or the Fan Pit. If it's the actual stage, perhaps housemates come from the left of the picture and the audience are split up the middle so there's a walk way to those stairs to greet Mel, as it wouldn't make sense for them to come in through the eye, just to go back out again... but maybe that's how they'll do it.

Or... that is the Fan Pit, and that is where the audience get to see housemates as they go in, and come out for evictions, as I can't imagine you'd need (I assume 2) big monitors either side of that eye, to see what's going on... from several metres away. They used to have several normal sized monitors showing the broadcast feed at the auditorium.

(I'm no expert) But I'm also thinking, from a studio camera perspective, the big monitors are positioned a little high (and Mel is quite short) If they wanted to show any graphics with Mel in shot, it could be done from either a crane or a static cam on the ground angled up, but it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me 😂

At this point I'm sick of speculating and arguing with myself about what that set could be 😂 I just want Saturday to come ASAP so I can see it in the flesh.

I’ve just had a thought that has shifted my theory about this. Unless I’m mistaken, it looks like there might be more than one of these small “windows” in the walls of the backyard. Could it be that this type of set-up makes it difficult to get fixed cameras in the right spots in the yard, so they’ve set up some hot spots for camera operators to stand behind and film from (like a makeshift camera run, per se)?

Either way, one way mirrors require it to be completely dark on the back side, so maybe a makeshift black out area can be placed there.

When Germany phased our the camera runs, they've kept a big mirror next to the shower for the sexy shots, one in the living room next to the entry/exit door (being used for evictions) and a couple of mirrors in the garden despite having hot heads there, too. They were no full camera runs, but camera boxes with some black drapes behind the cameras. Best video I could find right now. Not showing the drapes but the boxes that were scattered around the garden.

I think Germany used it mainly for tasks/live shows.. but that might be something Australia wants to do, too?

That's exactly what I think they could be building around the yard in that footage - they appear to be makeshift camera runs.

That eye looks to be the main stage (the scaffolding would be camera towers for the live shows). So I'd assume the area behind the stage up to the house is the fan pit. Those long white/silver bench-like things might be assembled as a runway to bridge the house and the stage?

These sets always play much bigger on camera (the OG auditorium was never as big as it feels on TV), and we're looking at it now from bad angles while it's unfinished.

You're right, they wouldn't. With little to go on, I think it makes most sense they'll walk up the stairs then "enter the house" via the eye.

I mean, I dunno... the set really isn't too dissimilar to BBUK.

There's also no sighting of any other big screens, so far, in a relative outdoor area. This area does match the description of the Fan Pit, as described on the Dreamworld site. @imsocold, I wouldn't be surprised if the entirety of Launch is filmed from here (makes sense for many reasons) but I do suspect there's still a separate Live Stage for Nominations/Evictions that we haven't yet seen, which may even make its debut on Monday. Obviously could be wrong, and happy to be - the only thing we can do for now is theorise (;)) - but I'm not yet sold that this is the main stage. The most obvious sign is no shelter from bad weather for interviews, etc... I know the ticketing website mentions outdoors but I'll be shocked if there isn't an undercover studio space as well.

Especially in STORM SEASON 😂 like you're playing with fire here BB haha

I honestly just think the eye is actually the main stage and the space behind the stage between the eye and the house is the fan pit.

There is no where else it could be based on the ticket T&Cs all saying it is standing only and filmed outside.

It is very UK based, which is no surprise, albeit it, from drone footage looks smaller, but can always make it look larger through the magic of TV. I guess this also makes it look fuller from a crowd POV, if ticket sales start to drop off (UK audiences have been very small this season and it is noticeable and lacks atmosphere).

My only concern (storm season aside), is eviction interviews. I’m guessing a one chair each on the stage and that is. I do have full faith - and maybe im naive - that at night, with lights etc, it will look much better than the drone overhead we have now.
