It should be noted that a while back the BBAU social team who run the YouTube marathons specifically mentioned Uncut/AO/Uplate are absolutely not part of the current iteration’s plan for 2025.

The latter certainly isn’t a problem, as we’ll have the live streams to supplement such as programme anyway.

I’m not surprised open showers aren’t back, tho I always considered those to be a signature of BBAU. So I’m guessing also no version of Adults Only or Uncut.

This house seems HEAVY with LED accent lighting.
Agree. LOT of led strip lighting everywhere.

I do wonder if these showers have cameras though? The idea is that they shouldn’t be able to escape anywhere…

Anyone care to theorise about what the "M" rating on the 10 website is about?

We don't do TV age ratings in the UK, it's all just based on time – can a show that's on at 7:30pm even *be* M-rated in Aus, and include more mature discussions and stuff? Or is the TV show still going to be PG, and the "M" is there because of the live feeds? Will we maybe get clips of more adult stuff, like the old BB06 "Premium" thing?

I would assume so for safety, if nothing else? Like how they always have them in the toilets but just don't air the footage unless someone's in there doing something non-toilety (e.g. having a meltdown). 😅

I would assume this will either change or there’s another show that will air that’s more adult oriented. It’s the same - there’s restrictions on the time of day you can broadcast certain things.

Interesting, thanks. I now realise that if I'd scrolled just a tiiiiiny bit on the link I just posted I would've known that, I am so dumb 😅

Although it does say M-rated programmes can be shown from 7:30pm, just not MA15+ ones (which I guess is what Uncut was?). UK watershed is 9pm, with 18+ material after 10pm.

I always found it wild uncut was MA15+.

Do we think the "tacky" look is due to budget cuts and we could see a slightly better house next year if things go well? Given a lot of the forum has been suggesting a much more reserved budget than previous seasons, could it just be due to a much shorter season they didn't want to go "all out"? Or is this going to be the norm moving forward?

I think they’re looking to see how this goes. Either way, they’ll be contracted for a few seasons unless this reboot absolutely bombs.

Next year I don’t anticipate a huge change, at least in the house. We’re all hoping for a longer run, but if it stays in the exhibition centre they need to consider revenue loss due to the longer closure of the neighbouring rollercoaster for that same length of time. Either we’re going to be stuck with short seasons in a “generic” house for the foreseeable future or they’ll end up moving it to make a longer season work.

Until I see the house as a whole I’m not sure about the extent of the budget cuts. It certainly doesn’t have the budget it used to.

I suspect the plan was for them to be open and this is a last minute fix. It does feel too much like a set from what we've seen so far - I do think if budget really was an issue they'd be better off doing as Germany did and going for a back to basics house and making "budget" part of the design.

Agreed. The vibe I'm getting from it, coupled with the reused house and similar styles in the UK, it's almost like a "tacky chique" sort of look. But for some reason they're determined to provide this "luxury" style house. We'll know by next weekend :)

Some mildly relevant info. It’s happening - Ten have caved and is finally reducing the disaster that is 10News+ to just 30 minutes. I know we had a chat about this here a while ago.

From what I understand, the original plan was to eventually cull Deal Or No Deal from the line-up, in favour of Hot Seat next year. But when The Project got axed, and 10News+ subsequently bombed, Deal’s ratings skyrocketed in comparison. Now they intend to keep both game shows.

This gives us insight into where Big Brother may sit for the network next year, likely keeping a 7:30pm time slot. But also the kind of lead-in it might have, with two properties that are known to rate decently enough.
