Looking at channel 10's ratings, even if BB rates around 500-600k it will be deemed a success. Last night 10 News+ only had 129k watching at 6 and a Deal or No Deal repeat got 115k at 7 pm, horrendous ratings for what is meant to be one of the 3 main broadcasters in Australia.

10 News+ will continue to exist despite its disastrous performance, it’s too inexpensive to cancel.
“Success” for 10 at the moment isn’t completely reliant on ratings, it’s more that they’re trying to limit the amount of losses that Paramount ANZ are contributing to the overall Paramount Skydance conglomerate..

Very much doubt it's that inexpensive for 10 to be happy for it to rate under 150k much more than until the end of this year. Its also starting to drag down their entire line up.

What he said is most likely what happens during during lockdown, even the timing and duration. But yes, the format of his BB experience compared to the OG is absolutely chalk and cheese.
I'm not sure about them being "in lockdown" for 10 days to two weeks and apparently still having their phones and laptops, while they get taken out for photoshoots and video packages. That's not lockdown despite being locked in the room, because they still have unlimited contact with the outside world. You could look on Grindr or Tinder to see if anyone's within 20m and potentially make contact with other HMs.

Yeah sorry that threw me off, because it is usually a week before Launch that they get locked down (max 10 days even) with NO form of contact with the outside world, bar the producers.

I didn’t even recognise him, wasn’t he like the third boot of the season? Laughable indeed lol.
I expect a lot of channel 7 housemates to try and sneak in to make themselves relevant. It will be funny to see some of them humbled. But can’t blame them tbh, I’d imagine a lot of them will be feeling like they were robbed of a true experience.
I’d imagine several alumni from the Nine era will do the same, of course there’s more respect for them to do so. But I imagine ten will ignore everything after BB8

Compared to the amount they were spending on The Project, it’s pennies. If 10 cared enough about how awful its ratings are, it would’ve been pulled by now.

Yeah his name seemed familiar I remembered he had some type of backstory/casting quirk before I went back and looked it up, yep from the 2021 Season, one of the few that has his own wiki page as part of ‘The Naked Magicians’.
They may have seen the public's social media response to Seven's Survivor-in-a-house show, and recognised there's an appetite for the original format. Not just being live with live evictions, but 24/7 live feeds as well, which is better than even Nine managed. I think everyone here on BBBA can take a bow. We've never been shy to point out what's wrong.

There were rumours 10 actually wanted BB back in 2020 but were outbid by 7. I also don’t think they ever exclusively ruled out brining the show back at some point but obviously made the decision to move on. As for why now? They obviously need something to put them on the map again and giving the show they’re undoubtedly most known for a fresh start makes a lot of sense. Also streaming is king these days and I guarantee BB is likely going to pull in huge numbers for them in that department. Especially if the feeds aren’t behind a paywall.
