Big Brother 2006 on official YouTube Channel (Live-streamed 26-28 Sep & 3-5 Oct)

Eviction #1 is missing some on-screen graphics (like the voting graph) comparing it to the HD project versions from the 2006 broadcast. So we're seeing some footage that has never been seen before.

So is why some things are looking a little awkward at certain points.
 
It's interesting watching this and just seeing how young Krystal seems. Versus what I thought 20 years ago when I was in that age bracket.

Yeah I’ve said previously how whenever I rewatch I still view it as I did then and I always feel closer in age to Krystal than Karen but I must be getting old because suddenly Krystal does look quite young! No shade to Karen but she still seems way older than me. I hope I can still rewatch this in 30 or so years and see if Karen starts looking young.

I think it was a youtube issue. I am watching Part 1 still and got kicked out of that with a Youtube error message at the time you guys mentioned it. Restarted playing again it with no issues though.

To quote my partner last night watching this, "Karen looks older than us," and we have a few years on her now. Maybe it's because her and I have good skin and take care of it, but we can't help but constantly notice the lines on everyone's faces. Even the young ones. It's just interesting because we were in our early 20s when this season aired. These are people around our age. Was it a requirement to have never worn sunscreen to be selected to go on Big Brother?

Another aspect of looking back at these old seasons is how at the time I thought the people around my age were more experienced in love, life, sex, the world and everything than I was at the time. I wasn't some sheltered virgin or anything. I was a good looking young man with an active social and dating life. I probably just fell for the confidence and forthrightness that people on the show presented themselves with.The difference between why they would get selected on BB and I know I never would be.

Another odd thing is how I used to think the guys on the show were all really muscular and in good shape. Now that I am into fitness, I can see that's mainly just low body fat doing the heavy work as opposed to big muscles for most of the guys.

ok that doesn't explain why Part 1 dropped out as well as it was already uploaded with episode points and everything. Strange coincidence?
 
Its so interesting seeing brand new camera footage due to the missing onscreen graphics on the master tapes.

The nominations tally board was just missing.

Yep let Karen be a cautionary tale in tanning! She really leans into the MILF angle and would have been younger than other school mums but frankly she looks much older than 36.

But yes agreed it’s so interesting to compare the physical and emotional traits back through a different lens.

Once again becoming old because I started to feel like a prude which is not how I felt when watching young.

Yeah, it’s weird. I asked if those graphics were only output to the broadcast versions. The nominations timer seems to be missing, too. Strange so much is missing from the digital masters, but other stuff remains.

I love the Gretel expressions we're getting because she knew she was off-camera at the time so her face was showing what she was actually thinking.
 
Maybe the digital versions that were archived on tape, like they mentioned last night, are from a production feed that was missing any overlays that were created or put out live as the episode aired. The graphics that remain all seem to be things that would’ve been pre-packaged and ready to play.

Hopefully this doesn’t cause problems down the track. Shame for these archival copies to be missing so much info, especially if it stays like this til 2008. It’s a big deal if we miss out on all the eviction voting graphs from here on out.

BB: “We've added this as a note to check while prepping the S7 tapes. If there is an issue with future seasons we would still need to digitise it how it is on tape but can try to add them back in for final YouTube upload”
 
I fell asleep early last night, what info is missing? The voting graphs? If I recall correctly we didn't see the official voting graph in full with complete %s until the week 7 eviction. The first eviction showed a very old school computer generated looking graph and then the next few showed the evict and save bars with only the evictee's % being revealed.
