Big Brother 2006 on official YouTube Channel (Live-streamed 26-28 Sep & 3-5 Oct)

I remember watching this season on youtube during the nine era, it was the first CH10 season I had ever watched and I recall being really interested when I saw Karen's intro video. And she just disappointed. Farmer Dave told me at the 2022 watch party that Krystal has become a born again christian and is quite conservative.

ETA: I also used to find John really hot back in the day, not long after I rewatched 06 I met up with a guy who told me that he (allegedly) dated John's brother (or maybe it was cousin? I don't remember) and John was very much not supportive and homophobic.

I feel like if you take away the whole turkey slap incident 2006 is actually a decent season of reality television, I don't feel like there were any slow points and the cast was pretty strong. I remember the storylines ever changing and there being LOTS of DRAMA
Loved them or hated them, the season slowed a little bit when Anna, Michael & Dino were evicted in consecutive weeks from day 29-day 43.

Camilla is such an underrated housemate though across all seasons. She was an amazing housemate honestly. Added so much to the season. Just so authentic and couldn’t be anything but herself at all times.

Yeah there was some big characters that left in succession, but then that allowed Camilla to grow into her own. She was the rightful winner in my mind, a one of a kind housemate that is overlooked.

100%, I can’t believe some people think she only got as far as she did based on sympathy, she would have been worthy winner IMO.

Plus I’m pretty sure a lot of people weren’t particularly sympathetic to her anyway and saw her as the bad guy in the turkey slap situation.

Agree - much preferred her to win over Jamie. Although, I will admit, when I rewatched I didn’t hate that Jamie won. But if I had any choice it definitely should’ve been Camilla.

I used to be one of those people, then I watched the series with an actual developed brain rather than a sooky teeanger and saw a great character who was just so true to herself and unapolgetically honest. And to anyone out there who argues her popularity came from the turkey slap, her popularity had begun long before. She was already scoring more save votes than evict votes as early as the week 5 eviction and was repeatedly surviving evictions, sometimes by as much as a 60-70% margin.

Jamie isn't a terrible winner in all seriousness. For the original Channel 10 group he's probably the third best behind Reggie and Aleisha. Definitly the best male winner until Tim Dormer. If there was an all stars in the 10 era sometime in the late 2000s/early 2010s Jamie could have been a contender to bolster his legacy.

I remember quite liking Jamie in the last few weeks, I feel like this is how he won. Before that I was pretty neutral on him. He wasn’t forgettable by any means but had it ended earlier I’m not so sure he would have won, but maybe this is just based on my own perception of him. Definitely Camilla is the true winner in my eyes.

I really like 2007 too, for some reason. Hopefully it lives up to how I remember. I last watched it (for the third time, I think) during Covid lockdowns.

Except the finale.

Yep agree, I also liked the 2006 hosue the most of the Noble era. 2005 was too small inside for me and the yard was foul. 2004 was a good reset from 2003 but again the yard was awful.

2007 is in the discussion as my favourite season. It joins 05 and 01 as my top I’d say, nothings changed in the years since my mass binge. I think some days 07 is at the top of list. I was so gay for Billy.

Gretel with that Beehive do and pantsuit was a look
For posterity's sake:

Think I might do a screencap of all Gretel’s launch looks when it’s BB07 time to come round.

God, watching this back I don’t blame Gretel for irrationally hating Michael.

I couldn’t stand him in 2006. By the time he was evicted, I remember hating him more than any other HM ever at the time. Since then, I try to look at it with different eyes and tell myself I was being way too harsh… but then I rewatch and immediately recall why I didn’t like him so much.
