I'm not from QLD. I always watched Uncut so I'm surprised I don't remember this quite gruesome conversation.

I'm trying to find out if the two guys got out of prison. A search for Peter Noel Stephens brought up this paywalled Courier Mail article so he may have got parole (if anyone can access that).

I have the full uncensored footage of the Belinda incident somewhere, capped directly from the web live stream. It circulated online back in 2003. From memory, it’s super LQ but it’s the rawest and most complete version of that moment that exists today.
 
It's incredible that it was allowed to be streamed in full at the time though. Was the feed editor asleep?

Well, the streams were rarely - if ever - censored in the early noughties. It wasn’t until 2006/Turkey Slap and the subsequent introduction of federal laws surrounding internet streaming that things changed and became scrutinized more heavily. Not just for BB but everything else online too.

It was a different time. (Plus, there was also no real way they would’ve had any idea where Belinda was going with that conversation before the fact.)

Ah but once she started to clarify things it should have been cut immediately. Back then they had staffers watching the feeds continuously and taking notes for show content, so surely someone would have said something?

I had Bigpond cable installed before 2001 aired and I remember watching it a lot. But I don't remember the editing/moderation of it. Blame the weed.

Internet was a pretty unregulated place back then. Laws that applied to broadcast television often did not apply to the same content online.

I wonder what happened to Belinda's homophobic sister? Hopefully she has turned her life around and is now a productive member of society.
