The eye is very ugly, but I also don't really care. There are much more significant creative aspects that will make or break the reboot.

I just find it really bizarre from a staffing perspective. When BBAU ended, over 300 people in the production lost their jobs. We're now in August. The second half of 2023 with it apparently starting in late 2023 and they still haven't locked in staff for it?? Admittedly not all 300 staff would be highly skilled but when they do decide to get the show up and running how are they going to recruit the people they need?
I suspect the staff are largely locked in - they've certainly been recruiting and they'll be pulling people in from elsewhere within the company too. Also there is a major issue at the moment in the industry with unscripted staff especially not getting work, so getting staff for a reality show shouldn't be too much of a problem.

No real news here. I had zero doubts a second series was inevitable. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a CBB series added post Love Island next summer.Apparently ITV are already committed to the show returning next year.

Interestingly, Big Brother is partnering with Subway for the new series (they are currently casting for the advert). I have no idea what this means in terms of the show itself, but along with Vinted, it's nice to see big, popular brands attached to the show rather than Supercasino.
Although product placement rules have been relaxed in the UK in recent years I don't think we've ever really seen a sponsored competition or event with Big Brother (or Love Island for that matter) - it's usually much more low key than that such as hair products in the bathroom.
Even back in 2006 when they did the Willy Wonka style "Golden Ticket" they never actually mentioned within the programme which chocolate bar they were in. Kit Kat had to advertise that themselves.

The ones that spring to mind is the Paranormal Activity 3 premiere, a club album compilation disco and OK Magazine - all during BB12
I remember watching BBUS live streams probably about 2007, and the camera literally zoomed right in on a cigarette packet which was standing upright on a table in the yard. I was so surprised given that BBAU didn't allow smoking in the house at all.
I'm wondering what the shows stance on smoking will be this year. I think C5 continued having smoking areas but I'm sure Love Island doesn't show smoking on screen, though I believe they have an "off camera" smoking area.
I think you can get away with making it a condition of the civilian series that there is no smoking, but they won't get away with that if they do revive the celebrity version as well.

The Power Path edit just shows how easy it is to manipulate reality TV. Cirie took 12 minutes, Cory took 53 seconds - but the footage played out implied Cory struggled with it more.
Stupid move by Matt though to save someone not very useful for his game and remove his own protection the next week. Interesting though Jag got in the top 4 on that poll - not sure if he's more prominent on the feeds but all I know about him from the show is he spent a week dressed as a chicken.

Do they still show smoking on I'm a Celebrity? I feel the backlash for smoking on Love Island was that they bill the show as sexy and glamorous, almost an aspirational way of life for the younger viewers. Because Big Brother is supposed to be more of a "slice of life", I wonder if that means it will be kept in? I guess they can always have an additional yard built on the house, where the housemates can go one at a time for a quick cigarette if they don't want it on screen, a la Love Island? I feel like the smoking area of the house (much like in a club) is always a hub for drama.
