🇬🇧 BBUK 2025 - starts 28 Sep

Two hosts seems like too many with BBLL gone. What will they be doing most of the week?

That finale showed exactly why 1 host works for a show like Big Brother. Hopefully now BBLL is axed, that will get the ball rolling for more changes and Will is dropped.

There were parts of it that were good, but mostly it was cringy. Agree that it should be revamped and maybe a couple of nights a week is enough.

One extra show per week is all that’s needed and preferably one that isn’t strictly a panel show. This is really where the idea that modern audiences have short attention spans comes in to play not that we won’t make an investment in a full length series. We don’t have time for unnecessary bloat.

perhaps the studio too so with interviews done outside as they were in Celeb BB
If they do, then we're in for a new outdoor set. I can't imagine they'd take the BBAU approach of crossing their fingers and hoping for the best with the weather - since its quite common for the umbrellas to come out on BBUK.

I would love for the show to go back to the drawing board and look at what has gone so wrong since the 2023 revival. They had the potential to reboot a brand, to invest in it and create an exciting new era for the show, but they’ve squandered the interest of the fans who returned when itv took it on.

The show seems to be back where it was in the C5 era, losing viewers every year until it’s no longer profitable.

The problem is, if nothing changes, ratings will continue to fall, so the advertising budget is cut, the spin-off is trimmed and (potentially) the live feed is axed. So viewing figures continue to drop and the show disappears once again with a whisper.

The brand should be building, not shrinking. The running length should be extended, the (now extinct) app should be expanded, the live feed should be longer, and the public’s faith in the show should be strengthening. But 3 years into the reboot and the show seems to be on its last legs.

Completely agree but also worth noting other factors like a complete collapse in the advertising market and co-funding for drama drying up so ITV diverting funds in that direction.

Hopefully ending Late & Live sees them make the Sunday and Friday shows 90 minutes now and the live feed (assuming they're not foolish enough to axe it) start immediately after the show.

Is also a suggestion (from fans rather than ITV) they might go down the "visualised podcast" route which is increasingly common to do TV spin off shows on the cheap.

It's what Love Island Australia does this season, a visual podcast with the guy who does the narration is uploaded at the end of each week.

The one thing I hope ITV do next year that BBAU has done that was genius is expand the livestream to TikTok and make it 24/7. Its definitely been worth the effort because the show is reaching way more people than it would've otherwise. Even people that don't care about BB are having things show up on their For Your page.

Though there's not much else for BBUK to copy from AU, since its so heavily UK inspired itself. 😂

I would become permanently couch bound if BBUK were to livestream on TikTok!.

That, and also upload the episodes to YouTube for international viewers. They definitely should take BBAU's current lead on giving BBUK fans our version in real time, so they should repay the favour.

A 24 hour live feed adds so much more than an hour of Z-listers and riff raff talking about what the HMs might be doing. I'd be interested to know rather cost difference too - a live show with an audience isn't cheap.

I suspect I'm a Celeb All Stars will take the CBB slot. ITV2 would then be wise to air the regular BB straight after in Apr/May before Love Island in June. I'd then put Zeleb BB in early September, finishing up before it gets crushed by Celeb Traitors in October.

That said though rather than running a Z-list Celeb BB they'd be better off just giving the main series the extra 3 weeks instead.
