🇬🇧 BBUK 2025 - starts 28 Sep

BBUK
I remember enjoying BBUK19. It really felt like they had tried to plan something to kinda refresh the show a little - but it ended up being for nothing since Channel 5 swung the axe before it even launched.

Also, we're now only three weeks away from the finale of the current season - and in typical UK fashion, they've got an overcrowding issues as there is still 13 people in the house. :/

All of the housemates just seem tired of the format and with each other.

The airline task was well put together and obviously had a lot of budget but they bailed after 30 minutes.

The only interesting thing lately has been Elsa casually dropping she's bi, explaining trauma very intelligently and seeing demons around the house.

I think the non stop mini tasks to pit the HMs against each other are completely wearing them all out.

No they didn't. The audience rightfully sent your ass out the door as soon as they could. She's a deluded idiot.
Will be interesting to see who goes out of her and Caroline this week; both are guaranteed to be up. Although Caroline could save herself by buying the power available this week at the market.

Surely must be time to start doubles or they'll do a backdoor eviction the night before to air on Halloween.
They have said there will be a shock eviction in Halloween week so I would say there's a mid week eviction in addition to the normal Friday eviction.

Halloween IS Friday this year so what better timing than to link it up to the actual front door eviction with the bells and whistles unless they still want it to be a surprise but you know, they could still get a silent crowd in like they used to for a secret midweek boot.

This year they are doing a live eviction on Halloween night. Could even be a double eviction as they are advertising it as a 'very special' night when you apply for tickets.

Oh lord now there's a save and replace and it's Caroline.

I can't even remember if this season has had a normal nomination-eviction cycle yet with no meddling.

Has there been a normal nomination-eviction cycle ever in the ITV era?

IIRC, ITV's first season started off decently. The first eviction had some minor twists (Olivia facing eviction, then having immunity because of tasks; only one nomination vote) and then there were 2 or 3 eviction cycles with no twists until halfway through the season, when there was that Halloween twist to nominations. And after that, I think there was still at least one normal rounds of nominations.

But it's my biggest worry for the new Australian series. It's an international phenomenon that producers for some reason think that they need to have special rules every single week. I guess the official reasoning is to make it unpredictable and thus supposedly more exciting for viewers, a view that I don't share though.

I guess there have just been so many nomination and evictions twists this year and last year that I had completely forgotten how it was in 2023.

Knowing that Caroline now has another week where she's effectively immune has just made me even more disilluoned with this series. I can't stand her.
