BBAU Rewatch

^ I liked the live nomination shows with Gretel. They felt like an event especially in 05-06.
Were noms not done live originally? Up to week 3 of season 1. When he nominated, Todd had spiky, Kramer-looking hair (from when he had his dreads cut off). When nominees were announced, his head was shaved to a #3 or #4.
Speaking of Season 1: Remember on the second nominations week when Sharna was nominated and she had a tantrum. That was a classic. 😆

I don’t necessarily think nominations themselves should be live but the show and the announcement could be. I always hated BB pestering HM’s for an answer and no matter how much you pressure them to be prepared they never are. Just pre-record them and edit out the BS.
Yes - I prefer to hear a HMs own reason for the nomination however pathetic it might be rather than Big Brother forcing a soundbite out of them and grilling them with things like "but how does it affect YOUR time in the house".

It is nice to have them live but probably best have them do at least the first set pre-recorded so they get familar with the process.

I also hated the whole “what are your trying to say? Get to the point! How does this impact your time in the house”

I don’t really give a fuck that much about the indept reason. I just wanna know who doesn’t like living with who and who’s nominated. But the live show was a great addition and I hope it returns in the reboot. Surely it will right ?

It's also use for the Monday night slot when there are less highlights to show from Sunday with them generally focused on the post-eviction period rather than full day.

It was! The OP was like “it only went on for a day or so and wasn’t that big a deal” (or words to that effect)…but there’s nothing ‘not a big deal’ about “fuck you’s all I hate everyone”. She was vile.

Something else I always associate/remember about Sharna (and I might have mentioned before) thats a bit of a time capsule was that she worked for Ansett didnt she? And this would've been just before it went bust in administration later in 2001 and was liquidated during 2002.

I recently was rewatching Season 1 of Popstars AU (Bardot) for its 25th anniversary, and theres scenes when theyre jetsetting around where Ansett branding is still all over the airports alongside QANTAS and all that. As well as Sydney 2000 Olympics promo material in offices and stuff as well as It was then happening that year.

One of the things that sticks out to me about Popstars was how amateurish the audition process was, compared to nowadays! There are scenes where Jackie O has shopping bags alongside her from having gone walkabout for some retail therapy on her lunch break 🤣🤣

I’m now about halfway through season 1. Peter has just been evicted. Things that stick out:
-I don’t find Ben “boring” at all! He’s funny and seems lovely and would be great to have a drink with!
-I understand the love for Sara-Marie, but as a 40-something with more than a bit of autistic burnout under my belt, I find her laughter and shrieking SO. SO. GRATING 🤣🤣 much more than I remember it being. In saying that, I’m fully aware that this is a “me” issue, and still think she was a great HM!
-Pete is more of a dickhead than I ever remember him being!
- The ‘dancing doona’, though controversial at the time, was a fart in the bath compared to other ‘couple’ antics in later seasons

and Anita isn't as horrible and unlikeable as I seem to remember her being :p
