BBAU Rewatch

Other than Zack and Bodie, the guys were so boring that season. I think it was because of the turkey slap the year before, but they played it super safe with the male casting and we got so many forgettable men. Jamie was meant to be the new Timmy from 2005 but he ended up being a big dud.

Yeah I’m not sure of the timeline but I did wonder if Laura had known? I guess regardless she didn’t know that Emma had just found out.
Apparently Emma's dad died a month prior to Emma knowing (being told by BB). Maybe Laura entered the house knowing Emma's dad was sick with cancer?

And yeah, Laura would have no idea that Emma was told her dad had been dead the night before.

Yes very probable, I think it had been reported in the media but not sure if Laura was in lockdown by then? Maybe it was top of mind and hence she had that dream.

I believe they are in lockdown for a week before they enter? Not too sure. BB fanatics can confirm this.

Oh yeah, Laura quickly assumes Emma is upset about her father when she asks "is it her dad?". I mean, maybe Emma could've been upset about many other things from the outside world, so why would it be her dad of all things? So it's kinda weird...

Racism or just really naïve on Terri's part? Either way, I thought it was funny (as someone who has small eyes myself lmao).

I could swear that the kiss between Logan and Michael was fully shown in a more clear angle. But maybe Uncut showed it in full?

Came across this yesterday. At first I thought it was going to be a bit naff, but I ended up watching the whole 34 minutes. Very impressively put together, nicely edited and well spoken. A great watch!
I was going to post this, but couldn't think of a good place to put it. 😄 I really enjoyed it too... I wonder if he's one of us?

He credited @BigKevin for the videos, so... 👀

Literally the only nit-picky thing that kinda threw me, is when he said Merlin smuggled his sign into the House in his underwear... was that the "official" story at the time? On the eviction show, he visibly tears open a patch on his T-shirt and pulls the sign out from there, so I always thought it was obvious that's how he got it in there.

May not be the right place to post this, but some relevant tidbits that got revealed tonight by the BBAU social team during Part 1 of the 2004 marathon:
  • they are taking notes from these YouTube livestreams “just in case” for potential use in the upcoming season
  • they hope to capture some timelapse footage and/or drone footage of the 2025 house build, but can’t reveal too much at this stage
  • they will be officially digitising every episode of Ten’s run from 2001-2008 “before the tapes degrade any further”, including the stuff they’re not uploading / can’t stream (i.e. Uncut, CBB, etc)
  • the master tapes actually remained at Dreamworld for many, many years before finally being moved to a proper media archival facility - they were not properly stored for a long time, hence the damage on so many tapes (or tapes completely missing, as is the case for 2001’s Big Brother Revealed and Big Brother Secrets specials, as well as 2004’s Day 2 Daily Show… so far)
  • there are teams currently “chasing down plenty of leads to see who still has DVD screeners or backup tapes” of the 2003 and 2004 seasons, as so many episodes from the master tapes have degraded too much - they are aware of “a few people in media ops (with) personal DVDs, but a lot of them got lost as they were never intended to be a true backup, only for screenings”
  • confirmed that they do not have any tapes or footage from Nine’s 2012-2014 seasons
  • given the nature of digitising analogue tapes, the entire series is being watched in realtime so this is also being used as an opportunity by the team to “look back at the full channel 10 run (and it) will be good to see what worked and didn't work to make 2025 the best it can be”
The last point in particular seems very promising.

Hi :)

I cannot for the life of me remember where I heard the underwear story, I filmed and researched this a couple years ago. I must've read it somewhere. In hindsight the sewn into his clothing story is probably more plausible.

Belindagate while not the best of circumstances was the reason a show like Uncut was so vital. It gave them a chance to highlight a moment (while once again not the best circumstance/heavily edited) that couldn’t be featured on the daily show. Now not all of said content needs to be “extreme” but it’s an outlet to show the house from another angle. Sorry for continuing to beat a dead horse but I do think it needs to be considered if the series is expanded. Not everyone has time to watch the live feeds and TBH if they aren’t generous with clip sharing Uncut is a good way burn off extra content for more casual viewers.

100%.

As a compromise, I would even prefer a 8pm or 9pm timeslot for Daily Shows, in favour of a separate Uncut show, if it meant they didn’t have to censor as many conversations that can’t go to air earlier.

Yes but even a more adult oriented series like BBUK I think could benefit from a weekly clip show. 24 hours is a lot to compress in to the daily show leaving a ton of content that doesn’t fit in to the main storyline.
