BBAU Rewatch

I probably shouldn't share this story because it might come off as disrespectful. But when my mum was on her death bed in hospital many years ago I accidentally copped an eyeful. So my lifetime relationship with her started and ended in the same way.

Katy Perry hadn’t yet come by (2 years after) to tell Karen ‘ain’t no big deal it’s innoceeeeeeennt’ LOL.

But yeah it was a slightly different time in some respects (I also mentioned David trying to prop talk Elise by comparing her to a spicy Asian dish of the house a few pages back) haha did that age well or poor phrasing? Hmm.

Oh yeah she said she was boring and he said no you’re not boring you’re the soy sauce in the rice.

Oh my god, watching the daily shows and every single time Camilla talks its focused on her arguing. I don't remember her being THIS frustrating to watch but holy fuck the girl had to argue EVERYTHING!

I smashed out weeks 4 & 5 of BB03. Lawd the drama was intense. Irena, Carlo & Leah are all people I would’ve liked to have seen last longer. They all brought interesting dynamics and deserved more. At first glance, Ben was someone who I was like “okay cool he’s gonna stir the pot”, but honestly as time went on I found him senile and his comments to be quite revolting. Chrissie dragging him was ICONIC QUEEN SHIT. I thought him & Joanne had a great friendship and it just seemed as if he really didn’t care at all.

I felt sorry for Belinda, she’s someone who clearly struggled with a number of the people in the house. Seriously, there’s not really anything that would deem people to have such a strong dislike towards her. Because she’s generally nice? She cleans too much? I’m just left confused. It was clear that she wasn’t in the right head space, especially after the Ben situation. It’s crazy to see how the whole dynamics of the house change drastically right after she left.

Overall, I find myself binge watching this series way more than the other two.

In all honesty, not a fan of this insider twist for BB6. Michael just appears as a puppet/cartoon character and I have no sense of what he really is like. This twist made him into a character for TV rather than allowing viewers to get to know him. It is no wonder why he was getting so many save votes, the casual audience would have obviously eaten this up. BB6 is mediocre at best at the moment, theres drama happening but I feel like I don't know anything about the housemates as individuals.

Remember 'Reuben'? Oh boy did that cause Ultra drama in the house when the Insider thing finished up for Michael.

Thats the episode I am up to now. I don't remember what happens later so I will soon find out. Personally I just don't feel like these characters are being shown in a complex light in the edit for me to really care about any of them.

Watching the day 20-22 daily shows where the housemates are making a fake wedding for Jamie and Katie. Katie becomes really insecure in her relationship with Jamie and starts to question if he's into her or Krystal. What I found from watching this is that Katie was a very insecure individual who over thought everything and shied away from situations that she feared would harm her. It's not very often Gretel credits the men but she said to Jamie during the live cross that he was really put through the test of how females are hard to deal with.

I think losing Karen early did Krystal good. Having her mum there made the two come across as the evil duo stirring up drama. I also noticed everything Karen said and did was usually to defend Krystal or to help her progress. I don't mind watching that but it's a shame she went in not caring about her own experience. Whereas Catherine from BB4 really wanted an experience and did care about the chance of winning. I actually watched BB6 a very long long time ago before the 2013 series started to have a look at what BB used to be after it came back. I watched the first 2 weeks and loved Karen. How disappointing she actually ended up being lol.

I think why I'm finding I don't remember much of the season is because the storyline of the early weeks is dominated by the people who leave early. Michael is the insider, Tilli vs Camilla, Anna vs Krystal and Karen, Anna vs Camilla and so on and so on. A lot of these housemates left before the first month was over which pretty much shifted the focus to Camilla and David as well as Jamie and Katie. I assume thats why I am forgetting a lot of what is going on as it's not super relevant later on.

Also I am silently looking forward to Uncut ending. It will make the binge a lot less tedious once I get to the Friday-Monday part. Especially when theres FNL, Eviction, Nominations, Uncut and then an Intruder show, it takes so long to get to the string of daily shows that feels like it lasts all of 5 minutes.

Edit: Lol also just watched Karen receive her prizes, Gretel went to give her the last prize and Karen immediately turns around hoping to see a car only for Gretel to pull out some slippers. I sadistically laughed.

It was quite sad to see how insecure Katie was, but am I correct that Jamie cheated on her quite quickly after leaving the house? Her insecurity was her own issue but it was fuelled partly by Jamie’s words and actions and saying that she wasn’t physically his type. Katie was just such an adorable and sweet person.

Day 24 daily show and the Michael was exposed to the housemates as the insider by Big Brother. Krystal then says "is that it? Thats a bit lame. I thought there'd be more". Same here Krystal, same here.
Exposing Michael was completely unnecessary and for a small amount of drama it caused wasn’t even that entertaining.

Yeah I am pretty much agree completely. Just end the insider twist with one final task and be done with it, expose him at the finale. I couldn't even see most of the drama unfold because of the fucking 3 minute beep that aired when they were all swearing at Michael. Also showing the footage of Michael is a no no to me. Flop twist (but is that really anything far from the norm on BBAU?)
