In the first series the small documentary that played before the launch said they got the entire compound built in seven weeks. That was also from the ground up. It’s possible. And the photos they’ve posted definitely aren’t real-time. That building has been closed off for a while.

Will Barrels Burgar Bar replace KFC as their fast food provider of choice? ;)
I’m half expecting it to be DoorDash

It’s possible but I’ve given up some hope of a purpose built house tbh.

They have at the very least 6 weeks to have everything sorted, housemates selected and have stand ins to do rehearsals for the house cameras, etc. In the grand scheme of things, 6 weeks really isn't a lot of time, so I'd hope that they're well on track.

It wouldn't surprise me if they're not far off from finishing it, and the stuff they're showing were photos taken weeks ago.
The type of house they seem to be building actually goes up quite fast 6 weeks is a decent amount of time considering the original house at Dreamworld was built from the ground up in 10 weeks.

Did anyone else notice on The Cheap Seats last night when Tim asked Mel if they were building the house right now and Mel quickly said, “Sure.” It makes me think that they aren’t building a house but using an existing building or will be setting up something temporary.

Or just as easily mean that the construction has finished but on socials they're presenting it as being done currently.

Was it on last night? The only one I can find aired last week?

Both can be true as well.. most of the construction is done outside of the building that hosts the house anyways. Inside the studio space, it's merely assembling the pieces, making minor corrections and maybe making some minor corrections.

I saw her segment where this comment was made. Her response just made me believe that she's implying she can't say anything or talk about it.

The control room in the promo makes me believe it was just a set and not the real gallery.

Was this true in the original 10 and 9 days? With the space they had then being a separate compound I would've thought they'd have just trucked materials in and built everything on location. Back in the day the UK house was it's own compound and tabloids used to post aerial shots of the compound covered in tarps in the months leading up so the construction changes for the new house couldn't be leaked. I work in film production and if 10 is indeed using an existing building space (or a loosely defined "soundstage"), they should be constructing the house in real-time inside if they're following any sort of traditional set construction with blue prints. Studio lots typically have mills where the wood paneling and such is measured and cut, but everything else happens on the soundstage. Dreamworld, not being a studio lot, there's a chance walls, mirrors, etc are being pre-fabricated off site, but construction itself is done on the spot.

I had expected another tease on construction updates by now. Or a Coomera local posting an update. I have a feeling the dirt lot is being utilised. It's too close to the event centre and has enough empty and valuable space to not be used in some form.

Soundstage is what I meant when I said studio space, e.g. they are not trimming wood panels at the exact spot where the house will be but rather prepare the walls somewhere else and then put it together in the studio.

I didn’t mean to suggest that they carry all the walls hundreds of kilometres through the country.

The flats (fake walls) in the video going up almost certainly confirms the house is in the exhibition centre... complete with the sound of park attendees screaming in the background. Still can't rule out it's the stage, but I don't see why they'd use flats for that. Surprised this guy was able to get into a spot to even see that.

Edit: also looks like a piece of mirror by the curtain on camera right.

You’re the best at this.

EDIT: Would they really get rid of those trailers though? I imagine they could be used as production offices.
I imagine they may just relocate the demountable buildings to another area of the park temporarily. Maybe the vacant lot next to WWW may get a use after all 🤣

I'm just here hoping that they don't make it look "modern". I want something groovy like back in the day!
Yeah the 10 houses had a very specific look to them. I didn’t really like the 9 houses apart from 2013, I found 2012 and 2014 to be really tacky. I didn’t mind the 7 houses but I wish it was more open plan rather than having a massive corridor.

It's going to be a production nightmare trying to make this show so close to the noise of 1) roller coaster. 2) a public car park. 3) general theme park and water park noise.

Also takes away from the isolation the house mates are meant to experience.

The original house was out in the middle of no where. I don't think they've thought this through.
