Episode BBAU 2023 Uncut - Week 3 Discussion

Quite a tedious episode.

Too much Dion, he has no off button.

They really aren't delivering on the promised nudity.
The one scene that had three guys in the shower was so tightly edited to have a girl's arm blocking the view.
Which is actually more than we see from the girls (if that's what you're into), who apparently shower in the bikinis they walk around in all day.

Yeah they definitely edited it very carefully to reduce any views to nothing more than fleeting, partial glimpses. Chopped up a bit as Josh was naked and showering, then clothed and undressing to shower. Conversations about sex and circumcision status was as raunchy as it got. Weak.

Did the housemates know that this season was going to have an up late before they entered the house?
Apparently not. But it depends on who you ask.

Supposedly the idea to produce the Uncut show came around about mid-2023 after filming ended in November 2022. Multiple "insiders", as well as housemates, have claimed that they had no idea at the time of going in, but were called ahead of the season starting, were shown all Uncut footage that was to be used and permission to use it was requested.

Seven however are claiming that the housemates were made aware of its existence before entering the house.

A Nudity Rider is a very serious aspect of signing someone to appear in a production. They can't show people naked who haven't signed one without potentially facing serious legal consequences. It would also be a very low bar to prove in court. "They showed my dick and my contract didn't say they could." It's basic stuff.

There's a long history of productions trying to get around people who haven't signed one. Often a lot of persuasion and extra payment when extra bits get caught on film and they want to use them. It's possible they may have reached out to inform and maybe with respect to the housemates asked again when they didn't have to.

While I don't know about Big Brother specifically, one has to assume you wouldn't cast anyone on a regular version of the show without having them agree ahead of time to show everything that happens in the house. This would happen in seasons without uncut. It just makes sense.

I recall someone in the 2020 season saying somewhere that their contracts still included clauses regarding nudity even though it never ended up seeing the light of day. Apparently that clause was retained for future seasons since the So Dramatic article has a quote from a HM saying that the clause was in their contract for the season.

So that clause could be what Seven are leaning on with the statement to So Dramatic that the housemates knew prior to entering that footage could be released.

They know they are being filmed. We have seen discussions about being naked in the house.

Who was it from one of the past channel 7 seasons that said they were naked so often that a lot of their stuff never made the air?

Oh the contract would be watertight saying anything you say or do in the house could be broadcast. And even if they thought that because Seven had not previously been showing nudity they'd be safe, there are still cameras on the wall in the bathroom that move and follow them around. So whether or not they knew there'd be an Uncut show is moot.

I disagree on that.

If they didn't know that Uncut was making a comeback and the nudity stuff in the contract was just viewed as being standard at that point, you'd be less inhibited while in the house because your thought process would be that the chances of the footage ever being released is pretty low, if not at 0%. At least according to So Dramatic (which may or may not be correct), they did reach out to the HMs to get consent for footage to be released so its not too bad in this instance. Allegedly.

Given how shady some reality shows can be these days, I wouldn't be surprised to learn production had decided that Uncut was going to be a thing from the start but didn't tell them so they could get the footage and planned to tell them after the fact. Which would extremely underhanded if that is what happened.

And yet the boys are all covering their equipment with their hands, so it's pretty obvious they knew there was a possibility it could air.

Big Brother or not, it is a criminal offence to distribute/broadcast images/video of peoples private parts without their consent.

There are plenty of other places you can find that type of adult content online these days if you really want to.

So? Do you think I don't know that? Whats your point? This show promised full frontal nudity and has let viewers down. It's a weak as piss version of the show it's named after. They should have called it Big Brother Highly Censored.
