BBAU 2014 Launch Date 7th/8th September

If I was a betting person I'm almost about to put my money on Monday 8 September.
It's an interesting one. For once we pretty much know for certain when the season will end since the ratings period closes on 29 November, the finale must be by that date. Double and multi evictions are going to become a whole lot more predictable.
It also means BBAU will be definitely be around the 85 day mark with no possibility of extension if the producers prove themselves and get good ratings. Wonder how Alex feels about that.
For the record - BBAU2012 - 87 days, BBAU2013 - 101 days (longest ever BBAU).

That would deliver us the shortest ever series, not including Celebrity Big Brother. Something like 81-82 days in order to have the finale on Thursday or Friday and not the weekend. NRL would be finished by then so Friday would be OK.
The only way you'd get more days is to push the finale into non-ratings, or hold over BB til the ratings start again (send the finalists home for Christmas! Haha.... No, just no. Don't even think about that Channel 9
).
I'd think an extra week would be necessary at the least, to allow for a proper 85/86 day season and a finish on Mon/Tue/Wed. That'd make it September 1. 1st day of the month has a better ring to it in promos and the like anyway.

And if I was a betting person I'd bet on you being correct.
The only downside on my own behalf to that being the launch date is that I won't be around at all on Sunday the 7th, which would mean no live spoilers from the pre-record for me.
(If we even get any at all this year, that is.)

I doubt it, a launch and a finale are two very big tv events for a channel, putting them on the same night would be stupid. But hey, it is nine!
It's been done before. I wouldn't be surprised tbh, but we'll see...
