I'm so sick of these games, but even if I knew when the block was starting I still wouldn't have a clue as to when BB is starting!
It's more that we know The Block is coming first so once it starts at least we know we're into the next cycle of shows. Someone on The Block page said filming finished 10 days ago as two of the contestants came into his store to buy stuff. Someone else said it's not starting until after The Voice which apparently has two weeks left. And a third person mentioned how they might be delaying the start of The Block until after the Commonwealth Games which I hadn't even considered. Ch 9 has the rights to that and it runs from July 23 to Aug 3. Basically until The Block starts there's no hope of seeing BB anytime soon so we just need them to start the damn thing already!

Ten are broadcasting the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Channel Ten have the right to the com games and I don't think 9 or 7 are afraid of the com games at all. Most events won't be broadcast till like 8:30 at night due to the time difference. Also the com games don't really rate that well.... At least compare to the Olympics.

EDIT: I'll just add that I think 7 and 9 are more scared of each other than they are of 10.

Yeah I was just coming back to edit that. I thought that sounded strange as I was sure I was watching Thorpie on Ten last night lol. I must've misinterpreted what the person was talking about... I think they were trying to say that Ch 9 might delay because of the Games but in actuality I think that would be a great time to air it.

When does the NRL finish? Now that we know that BB will start sometime in September, if the NRL is over will that mean that we will get a show on Friday longer than half an hour? I know people on her were theorizing that because of the hour long news it looked like we would not even get a Friday show. Perhaps BB starting in September is not such a bad thing.

The final isn't until the first Sunday in October. So we'll still have Friday matches to contend with I'm afraid.

Well Foxtel's showing Voice Kids and 60 Minutes for next Sunday but Ch 9 hasn't released their Monday schedule yet. I should be able to see at least up until 6pm but the whole day is blank and Ch 7 has stuck TBA in their primetime slots. Fingers crossed it's the start of The Block or the very least the last day of The Voice so we can get the ball rolling.

I know for a fact that the finale for The Voice is Monday the 21st as NZ is airing LIVE from Australia...

That's only 1 week away, surly The Block will air soon afterwards. I'm not sure if they'll start it on the next day (Tuesday), but if Nine were to wait till the following Sunday to start the block, that will mean 4 days od TBBT repeats.... Oh wait they already do that. :bang::bang::bang:

Bloody hell even The Bachelor's back already. It starts on July 30 and the damn thing ended three weeks after BB last year! And instead of once a week it's now going to be multiple nights. Man, I remember all the hoopla when they posted their highest ratings of the season so far when they faced the BB finale. Obviously not what anyone was expecting and not what you want to happen if you're Ch 9. Ch 9 sucks balls with all of these games and delays. Feels like we've been watching Glasshouse ads for two months already.

Oh FFS. Keep BBAU for 2015 and start it in April. It's looking like NINE really doesn't give a flying F@#! about BBAU, and are just keeping it simmering so that no other network (that might do a better job) gets it - as somebody already mentioned.

Agree 100% channel ten should take it back :-)

Looking back over recent series could be anything from 40-65 episodes for The Block over 10-12 weeks. I would bet on it starting the night after The Voice final - though I know with Aussie TV even a Grand Final can take place over weeks rather than a couple of hours!

I just don't get why Aussie TV is so cagey, launching shows with less than a weeks notice. Here in the UK they have to lock series in 10-16 days before broadcast, while the most competitive market in the world shows their hands months in advance. We know the exact time and date some series are starting on US TV not just in September, but also early next year, yet don't know about a series which could launch next week in Australia.

P.S. This goes against the principles of Big Brother but it would be quite interesting to run half the series this year, then let the HGs out for a couple of months, then put them back in for the second half of the series in Feb/Mar. Would be interesting to see how they change.

I think Inigo touched on this before but it's got to do with maximising ratings/ad revenue. Could be because of our rather small tv market but popular shows cannibalise ad revenue leaving a trail of devastation in their wake at that particular prime time slot so other networks do their best to line up shows when their run is over, hence these cat and mouse games with starting dates of up coming shows.

No Block next Tuesday. Hamish and Andy are still in the 7:30 spot with BBT after so there goes that. You'd think they'd want something to go up against X-Factor.

I did not think the Block would launch on a Tuesday night. My thoughts? The Block to start either Sunday or Monday week. The Voice Grand Final is definitely this coming Monday, and I have little doubt this will be used to promote the hell out of the block launch.

Of course, where that leaves BB is the big question. I am totally lost on that one!

In the vain of "something's not quite right", maybe we'll get "a Big Brother FIRST" - the shortest BB season in world history.

I can just imagine a stunt like that. :bang:
