Hmm not sure that I agree it is "pretty poor" of Tim to announce that on twitter. What difference does it make? It doesn't reveal anything or hinder anyones chances. If he named names then yeah that would be very poor of him haha.

So ...
If the block doesn't start this weekend (which it obviously won't now) there is now no time to run an 11 week block plus 12 week BB series in by the end of ratings. So either one or both have a shorter season or somehow they run concurrently.
Last year BB was actually about 14 weeks long (101 days) but 2012 was 12 weeks.

I have a question about the non-ratings period... Do the networks get less ad revenue from advertisers during non ratings or is it just less people are watching TV during that time and therefore the networks don't schedule new programs at that time?

I know there have been lots of discussion about abandoning the weeks as they results are still collected during non ratings weeks anyway... I guess it was the weeks when tv viewing was down. And also provided good holiday time for tv people. Haha

I wish they would run them concurrently as it would probably mean BB gets moved to a later, more adult spot. This won't happen though - but a boy can dream.

Having worked in media sales before, there is generally a significant drop in viewers (as holidays commence and people go away), therefore a drop in quality programming, and subsequently, a large drop in the prices charged for advertising space.
Why is Tim Dormer still relevant? Can't wait until BB starts so he finally fades from existence.
His "I know a few people going in" is blatant self promotion. He doesn't know any differently.
