BB/CBB UK - Rewatch discussions

"Bobby" was "Bob Righter" - IIRC that was initially linked to evictions. I really liked the ambition of BB11 - it felt like it could have been a start of a new era.

I didn't stick with C5 too long but episodes were slightly shorter though BOTS is an hour a night. OKtv was a generic celebrity show which didn't last long and think making it BB focused during CBB was a desperate attempt to save it. Can't think was BTO would have been.

Yeah, I've done pretty well, I did take some breathers between now and then as well as during, also the first couple were easier as it was less intensive with the combo of episode/season length, extra shows and whatnot which increased as it went.

But, I also think from here its kindof tightened up a little bit again (only one Big Mouth ep most weeks, no more Diary Room uncut (skimming through)/On The Couch as a separate episode, those extended BBLB's have reduced back to Sunday only etc) plus Ive been able to streamline those with things like watching a couple Dailies ahead first then being able to skim past a lot of repeated stuff in BBLBNews (although occasionally there'll be a scene or few that didn't end up in the edit) etc on the way back through.

I'm anticipating it might be easier again going into C5 - depending on how engaging I find whatever format Bits On The Side takes form in. I think I took a glance at a random first few eps length from BB12 and it looks like its a 45 minute - hour long iirc - not sure if thats a regular length what was it every day of the week like BBLB?
I might watch the first few then skim through and just cover what I find interesting or if Channel 5 starts to get a few entertaining recurring guests like C4 era has - but we'll see. I know Emma follows it over, then iirc takes over hosting the main show from Brian Dowling like someway through BB13 is that right?

Also I noticed just looking up episode lists (and to get a general idea of some season lengths I've got left to go) theres a few other side shows with acronyms apart from BOTS for some seasons like:

'OkTV' - as far as Ive been able to ascertain this was some type of panel show only done in CBB8
'LftH' - A streaming block thats present in most Ch 5 CBB seasons apart from CBB12

theres one I haven't been able to figure out though (but wont be long until I get to it) which is something called 'BTO' in BB12.

Anyways, jumping back to BB11 :)

So on Channel 5, they had OkTv, which was essentially Channel 5’s attempt to make their own “glossy” and “showbiz” early evening show - it would often have Big Brother discussions in the run up to the series launching, but it was never a BB-devoted show.

However, on the day before the CBB8 launch, OkTV: Bruv Takes Over (BTO) launched and was essentially a really rubbish version of BBLB and OkTv became BB centric. Sometimes it was called OkTv, sometimes it was called OkTv:BTO but it was all a bit of a mess and the whole show was cancelled before the year was out.

oh yeah I did see that title tagline somewhere on the list of sideshows so that matches up, as its own thing/a blended component of OkTv. Interesting.

BBUK11 Rest of Week 1 recap (Part A Cause I wrote a lot again lol):
  • So the ‘Mole Hole’ access was off to the side of the garden across from the Nest. Tree of Temptation staggers his tasks for Mario, including getting him to write things on a blow up beach ball and leave it in the garden as if someones thrown it over the wall, Dump the shopping list Vegetables/potatoes and bread in the pool, cut up someones cigarettes. Shabby, Ife and Caoimhe prank the others by writing ’TWIST’ near the pool one night, they also theorise if its not Big Brother messing with them, It could be other hidden housemates or something.
  • The shopping task involved one of those aerial restaurant dinner table things in the garden, which suspended the housemates 40m in the air above the house. Sunshine took the role of staying on the ground and painting dictionary phrases about comments in the media about the housemates entering on launch night, such as ‘Big Boobed Babe’, ‘Hunky Trio’ and ‘Wannabes’ for the housemates above to guess.
  • The final Mole task involves Tree of Temptation giving Mario and earpiece (and a screwdriver for later) to ensure he wins the getting to know you quiz. He gets one question wrong to throw off suspicion he’s guessing them all right. The tree tells him to pick the Hawaiian themed party, and a housemate to sit out and be the caterer in the Kitchen (making pizzas) John James is happy to do it.
  • Later as BB cranks the music in the task room at the party, Mario goes to the toilet in there and the Tree guides him through the vent that leads back through the Closet in the bedroom. Whilst JJ is in the Diary room, Tree tells Mario to trash the pizzas and punch bowl, smearing them across the windows and throwing one out in the garden, before returning to the party through the vent.
  • JJ alerts the others and Sunshine discovers the vent. Ife and Steve appear to cotton on that maybe they should let Mario get away with it to pass some type of task. The vote is held, although BB tells them exactly what will happen if they correctly guess the mole, which is an eviction. A couple still vote Mario, but its overwhelmingly high on the votes for Sunshine, which she doesn’t take well thinking if they truly thought she was the mole, that looks like they really want her out. Govan attempts to apologise to Sunshine for it coming across that way. Mario becomes a proper housemate.

  • Dave and Josie are voted as best dressed housemates, so they get to keep their suitcases for another task, as does Mario becoming a housemate. The task is to ‘wear it or lose it, but putting on as much as they can in 4 minutes. Caoimhe got a 2 minute penalty for entering the Mole Hole proper the other day. The following day they get a chance to win back the rest of it by doing a brain freeze ice shots challenge in the diary room, Nathan wins that.
  • Shabby gets pulled up for noms talk after inferring Steve’s snoring could be a grasping at straws reason to nominate somebody. She gets frustrated reading the rulebook in the nest at herself.
  • Sunshine hasn’t been getting on with Govan who has been bitching a lot about also Dave appearing to try and suck up to him before nominations and thinks he is fake. They also have a bit of an argument about the way they approached reasoning with Sunshine when she was upset about the vote iirc.
  • Also Ben, who keeps putting foot in mouth with Sunshine joking about using her verrucca cream as the interim dishwashing liquid (She’s upset that he’s implying she has them when she hasn’t and broadcasting it in front of everybody, also Sunshine snaps at Rachael during John James having a discussion about moving the hand soap from the bathroom to the bedroom toilet or something) and later in the week Ben asking her point blank if she has ADHD or has been on Ritalin, which she takes as really blunt and he seems to be a little oblivious to it and takes it as her being snappy/bitchy at him and a bit oversensitive, profusely trying to apologise. Ben also had a bit of a faux pas with Shabby, she got offended when he curiously asked her if being an actress meant it was sometimes hard to tell how genuine she was acting in the house and stuff.
  • He’s also become paranoid now and then about the way he’s coming across in this group dynamic, whether something he does that could be used against him for noms. The others tell him not to overthink it too much and be yourself kinda thing, Including Mario who has become cliquey with an odd couple dynamic as Mario is gay but Ben said he was Straight, but has ‘dabbled’ or whatever, and also hanging a lot with Dave.
  • Dave also got put on the spot by Josie during a conversation about if he would officiate a gay wedding, he said he wouldn’t but not in an actively preaching homophobic way, I thought he kindof put it in a bit of a personal fence sitting avoidance of it due to how controversial it is, but clearly doesn’t have an issue with gay people as seen by his interactions with Mario. Anyways Josie uses it as an easy nomination for him regardless. Nominations are Sunshine way out in front on 10, Dave & Shabby tied on 5.

  • Nominations announced - theres another twist - its a bit of a veto/save & replace thing they are introducing this season. Dressed as mice, the 3 nominees must complete the Hickory Dickory Dock’ mini challenge carting cheese pieces over spinning platforms in the garden. Dave wins and replaces himself with - surprise - Rachael.
  • Dave gets a punishment for revealing he didn’t nominate Shabby to the others, he apparently didn’t know he couldn’t talk about it after the fact. LOL. He has to give a presidential style press conference apology on ‘Badboy TV’ in the diary room to the others. Interestingly though, Shabby’s punishment never seems to arrive, as if being and staying nominated may have been enough (or at least it wasn’t shown on the main edit).

BBUK11 Rest of Week 1 recap (Part B):
  • The housemates play a game where they pass questions to the housemate they answered with sorta thing. Later when discussing it with Josie and Govan, John James seems to really have a bee in his bonnet when it comes to Rachael, thinking she seems typical stuck up with the ‘looks’ she gives like she thinks he stupid or beneahth her because of her looks and it pisses him off. He tries to have a chat with her about it and she confesses she actually thinks he’s fit and stuff and might be doing that or looking like that when he catches her looking at him. I dunno, its a bit complicated lol.
  • Anyways it escalates soon enough as they are all at the dining table and JJ cant contain himself overhearing Rachael and some of the girls joking discussing the mag deals after they get out, ending up shouting at them that he thinks their conversation is self absorbed, which upsets Rachael who walks out crying.
  • After that they are a bit awkward with each other and cant stand to be in the same room until they squabble a little about it again but then appear to hash it out after JJ calms down and attempt to draw a line under it should Rachael be evicted or stay. Even Josie and Govan cant seem to work out why its getting him so agitated and decide to leave them to sort it out between each other eventually or stay out of each others way for a bit (perhaps some girl really did him over like that in the past, or another theory on Big Mouth was he saw her VT going in, made an instant first impression judgement on. her and it was hard to turn that over and give her a chance after that or something).

  • Anyways back to the rest of the house, the Shopping task is called ‘Commission Impossible’ to test out some game show ideas for Channel 4. Presented by George Lamb on the screen, the games included ‘Old Head Hot Topic’ in which Ben and Sunshine had to guess what the Pensioners on the street were discussing in VT for some money towards the budget, next was ‘Munchamind’ which had Shabby, Nathan, Dave, Josie and Steve iirc all eating the correct answers off a plate. Dave won that one.
  • The last part involved teams of two, Ife & JJ, Caoimhe & Mario in the semi final, guessing what food was thrown on them. Then Ife answered 5 ‘Rubbish’ quiz questions right for JJ to attempt 5 tries to break open the ‘Binyata’ but they failed to gain any more money from that one.
  • There was also a South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup themed mini task for a Bbq before the eviction where John James as referee, had to direct 7 of the housemates in a continuous Vuvuzela off for 90 minutes.

  • Tree of Temptation gave Corin a secret mission to win Rachaels suitcase back (Corin chose) by telling a Lie to each of her 13 housemates. Tree wasnt satisfied with some of her lies being ‘outrageous enough’ so gives her one last go. Corin tells Sunshine she thinks she might be pregnant by way of cheating on her girlfriend to win Rachael the suitcase.
  • Eviction is done with Shabby getting saved first, and Rachael leaving. Little bit of a surprise, I thought with the way the crowd was chanting for Sunshine (which Davina did Shabby’s safe announcement silent from studio, but the main eviction outside, so Sunshine heard it and got super paranoid after as everyone tried to tell her it could’ve been ‘someone out’ because it was first eviction, hmm lol) and perhaps JJ making a mess of things with Rachael giving her a little bit of a sympathetic angle maybe? but no. We’ll see how things go with him from here.
"Bobby" was "Bob Righter" - IIRC that was initially linked to evictions. I really liked the ambition of BB11 - it felt like it could have been a start of a new era.
  • Yes So ‘Bob Righter’ (which is an anagram of Big Brother, ah makes sense) woke up earlier to spit out a card telling them noms were coming up, and on the Eviction (which also this season includes a viewer interactive segment they can call in or send a comment to ask the evictee), It seems he is for now also used as a housemate hand grenade/gift by the evictee towards the remaining housemates. Rachael chose to pay back Corin for her suitcase by giving her a ‘nice day’. Bob Righter spits out the card, which is cryptic, Saying something like ‘Bob Righter’s eyes are light, for Corin tomorrow its looking Bright’ and they don’t know whats going on.

  • Big Mouth was funny this week. Tree of temptation had a mole in the audience, making him shout out that he loved Rachael and Alexandra Burke, Davina’s ears and asking to lick them, randomly standing up and dancing the robot, and he got up and pole danced at the endSide note from the previous Big Mouth ep, They also had Bea from BB10 in audience, and David (BB10) doing a VT where he rated the housemates entrances as ‘x penises’ whilst something was hooked up to his err ‘area’ and blurred out lol. This week he did another VT and appeared at the end of the ep on Example’s outro with song Kickstarter dancing on the pole with the mole. Guests were Dom Jolly and Olivia Lee.
  • BBLB: Does have a Couch and some background statuettes from time to time, also the eviction stage looks like its brought into that main space area on Fridays too. Theres a new regular segment/competition called ‘You vs The Housemates’ where viewers send in a video of them attempting a weekly challenge (this week was ‘Candle in the Wind - blowing out a candle from as far away as they can in a blow) and the winner selected comes in to do it in studio and then the housemates will be shown it and attempt to beat it.
  • Also they have two alien puppets ’Zig & Zag’ doing interviews - they had one with Nasty Nick (BB1) and Anthony (BB6) this week. Brian Belo was back on, They had Sara (BB9) and a comedian on discussing Australian slang and John James outside, Stacey Solomon from X Factor UK (also Simon Cowell, no not that one, this one is a wildlife expert), Jessica Lowndes from 90210 reboot, Freddie (BB10) who’s doing some DJ’ing, Eliza Doolittle performing ‘pack up’, Jodie Marsh (CBB4), and ‘That Gameshow thing’ which had Emma Vs a Team of Alex Reid and Nasty Nick, amongst other guests.

    Onto the next few episodes!

For context, Zig and Zag used to be interviewers for a show called The Big Breakfast on Channel 4 in the 90s and then moved into kids TV. Ask anyone younger than their mid-30s, and they are probably unlikely to know who they are, but they were very recognisable back in the day!

BBUK11 Week 2:
  • Corin gets her pamper day, BB plays 9 to 5 in the morning and later Erasures A Little Respect, She gets her suitcase back with a new gown, Breakfast in the Diary room and a massage with hands from behind curtains in there too. She is also the one selected to play You Vs The Housemates this week. They are only shown the viewers 1 m attempt, not the second one at a longer distance which he failed - Corin blows further so they won.
  • Shabby still struggling with her feelings for Caoimhe. She tells Ife she wants to be upfront with Caoimhe not to try anything because she has a boyfriend, but in case she gets evicted before Shabby, sees the footage and thinks she was only friendly towards her because she fancied her. Ife tries to drop Shabby in it later by telling Caoimhe Shabby has something she wants to say to you and trying to walk off leaving them to it. Shabby is mortified but ends up just coming out with it. Caoimhe seems surprised but cool about it.
  • The following day, Govan seems really down about something and indicates to BB he’s thinking of leaving. He confides in Corin in the nest that he’s worried about what his F&F willl think about him (seemingly hinting at he’s having issues with owning his sexuality and how some of ‘the black community’ are really not accepting of it?). He later tells BB he’s decided to stick it out.
  • Similarly John James has a moment of wanting to pack it in and walk after he gets the shits about Josie continuing to tease him when he asked her to stop - to the point of gearing up to pack all his stuff up when Josie comes in and tells him to stop being silly - JJ has a bit of a cry and they make up.
  • The housemates get a kinda kids party with sausage rolls and nibbles, where after Ben and JJ are having a chat about Ben not waiting for everyone to be there before starting on the sausage rolls (or something a bit petty like that). Anyway, Ben tells JJ that Shabby was smirking and ‘rubbing her hands’ about JJ considering leaving before. This gets back to Shabby through Govan and Josie getting it out of JJ in a discussion later, to which Govan tells Shabby. Shabby ends up pissed off and confront Ben in front of the group, with Mario attempting to stick up for Ben. Not looking good for Ben right before noms.
  • Anyway they agree to stay out of each others way for a bit, and JJ also apologises to Ben the next morning for letting it slip what they were talking about which got back to Shabby as if Ben was intentionally trying to shit stir.

  • Not surprisingly, its Ben out in front with nominations, followed by a Tie of Govan, Dave and Shabby. Tree of Temptation gives Shabby a secret task to win a Dinner date with another housemate (no prizes for guessing who she picked). To win it she had to suck up her argument with Ben from last night and stay within arms length of him for like 2-3 hours, and pay him 20 compliments. She does this by coming to stand/lay by Ben and just listen to him waffle on. After she forgets the compliments part, Tree gives her a second chance by telling Ben the Compliments, and also giving him a minute long hug. Tree also gives George Lamb this task on BBLb with guest Dane Bowers.
  • They have the Dinner date, although Shabby is prevented from Telling Caoimhe that it was part of a Tree task, so she thinks BB is trying to be mean and force things and set her up by playing with Shabby’s emotions, whereas on the other Hand, Shabby also feels that she cant work out whether Caoimhe is leading her on by being coy with her or whether she feels to awkward to outright shut her down kinda thing iykwim, and she’s gagged by the Tree telling her she cant say anything about it. Shabby ends up going screw it bring on the Tree’s wrath and tells Caoimhe, who thinks its hilarious but agrees to keep the secret.
  • The following day Tree of Temptation punishes Caoimhe in Shabby’s place by putting her in the DR task room with pics of Ben and Shabby’s conversations and replaying them to her on loop. This means she misses the noms announcement and veto task which is to ride a scooter through a gauntlet of crash pads on either side without knocking any over. Only Shabby is able to complete a whole run without either crashing out at start or knocking any over (BB5’s Victor tries this task on BBLB during the week). She replaces herself with Mario, which initially pisses him off but gets over it. Caoimhe reenters house tell them about the punishment but didn’t say what its for.

  • The shopping task is an interesting backwards/forwards type one. BB begins the day by saying something in reverse order words that the storeroom is open to colllect a chicken curry dinner, which the housemates eat then sits them on the lounge to tell them they passed this weeks shopping task. Theres also a clock set at 7pm or something. Next BB brings them to the task room where 3 stages of completing a lego key from a puzzle of blueprints taken from a combination lock briefcase are already completed, and takes a group of them through each step dismantling everything. They seem to cotton on that they may be asked to redo this later in the correct order. (Which is exactly what happens).
  • The housemates complete the task forwards, but when Govan opens the safe its a card saying BB has news - they’ve lost the shopping budget because of Shabby and Govan code talking Mario as ‘Pasta’ during the veto save/replace task, and also Ife, Shabby, Caoimhe and JJ discussing noms in the bathroom. It also reveals Ben most likely nommed Sunshine in the first week which JJ gets uptight about. Ben further explains himself which ends up getting him into more trouble as the hot water is also taken away as well as the food replaced with basic rations. BB finally end backwards day by waking them up with the morning alarm.

  • BB gives them a ‘stuck to a wall’ task in the garden. Mario as the scientist watching on in the Diary room task room, must guess whether one, both or no housemates (one stack with Tape (Ben), the other (JJ) with glue) will stick. Ben nopes out after getting uncomfortable, which annoys Ife, but John James stays stuck for a bit. This wins Mario a private ‘sticky ribs and Sticky date pudding’ dinner in the diary room.
  • Looks like I’m hitting a bit of a patchy area again with episodes atm, Eviction 2nd half was missing as well as Saturday ep covering Friday, But for the moment I can still make do with BBLB recaps and news to bridge gaps. It seems like theres speculation Sunshine and JJ might be flirting with each other, also Govan was evicted. I’m a little back and forth on Dave, but I’m glad Ben didn’t go, the public might be coming around on him a bit after his initial reception. Although OTOH it could shake up the dynamic with Mario, but not just yet give it a bit more and see where it goes I reckon.

  • BBLB: now we are getting to the evictions, has another segment ‘Evicted Depicted’. As Rachael is interviewed, a guest draws them to add to the housemate evictee wall. This week it was Keith Lemon, who is a good caricature drawer actually. He also played with Rachael against Emma in ‘That Gameshow thing’ and attempted this weeks You Vs Housemates task ‘Pies in your Flies’ (although his attempt was invalid as he shoved the pies down his pants instead of through the fly).
  • More ex housemates, Aisleyne was on, BB9’s Lisa was on a mystic VT with Rachael, Zig & Zag interviewed Helen (BB2) and Pete (BB7). Other guests included Dancing on Ice/Corrie actor Danny Young, Dave Schneider with ‘game plans’ segment with a diorama of the house, Spandau Balllet’s Martin Kemp, Judy James, Myke Hawke and Vanessa Feltz returned.
  • Big Mouth had Terry Christian, Scott Mills, Govan, and even the Tree of Temptation was wheeled in. They discussed Nathan and Ife being a bit under the radar at this point (I also think Steve is a little bit, Judy James referred to him as a bit of a ‘passive alpha’ in the house atm). Wideboys and Majestic were musical guests with ‘In The VIP’ as outro.

    Onto the next few episodes!

Hold the Line, episodes I was missing are back some quick notes before Week 3:

- Was able to watch the second Eviction, Davina announced Mario and Dave safe at first so it was between Ben and Govan, which threw Josie, Shabby and Caoimhe in particular for a loop, Govan gave the Bob Righter nice day to Josie.
- Saturday daily covering Friday: BB gave Shabby and Caoimhe a mini task to win some Ice Cream, however it seeemed like a highly stacked task where they had to try and drain the pool in 3 hours by wearing wetsuits with sponges all over to dunk themselves and try and squeeze out. They give up partway through not making much progress.
- BB ends the punishment announcing they will get an economy budget for next week soon and gives them pizza. Later Sunshine gets a bit miffed by Josie and the others suggesting she share the crisps she got along with her vegan pizza, She wants to wait until they get bread to have a crisp sandwich first.

Theres another BB international crossover coming up - a World Cup style shootout against BB Germany.

BBUK11 Week 3 Done:
  • Josie gets to win whatever items she can remember passed in front of her in the Diary room to the tune of Sound Of Music’s ‘Favourite Things’. ‘Crispgate’ with Sunshine continues as Ife pesters her to bring them out and open them on behalf of the group, Sunshine comes out and tries to over explain she was always going to share them but also says they do have her name on them it should be her prerogative to share them whenever she feels like it - this pisses Nathan off. I can see both sides here, Like BB did give Sunshine the crisps specifically as part of her vegan option Pizza, OTOH just to keep the peace just let them have at it Sunshine its not that worth turning it into a bigger issue than it needs be, house magnifying all these petty issues and all as it tends to do. I did think it funny though BB gave them a little lunch the following day or whatever, which included, packets of crisps for everybody. Poking the fire a bit perhaps? lol. Caoimhe is starting to get really sour with her too.

  • The UK Vs Germany BB shootout takes place over video conference. It takes a little while to break the Tie but Ife finally scores the winning goal. They win watching the England vs Germany World Cup match - which England lose quite convincingly at 4-1. Shabby and Caoimhe have a slight bicker about a look Shabby gave when Caoimhe missed a goal, Steve jokes they get the sexual tension over with which has Caoimhe a bit paranoid again about how her friendship with Shabby is being perceived, confiding in Mario.
  • An Additional note last week Ben and John James were discussing different things including Ben explaining Capitalism and Communism to JJ through Animal Farm, and also JJ seems to be one of those people like Jonas in CBB7 that have their own kinda little bubble and dont pay much attention or interest in politics or certain entertainment/public affairs It was funny as even if he was politically inclined/interested on Australian Politics they wouldn’t have been aware that was right around the time of the 2010 Leadership spill that brought Julia Gillard to power that week. Later in the week Nathan also gets quite passionate with Ben discussing politicians being out of touch in regards to other professions.
  • Dave takes on the You Vs Hms Pies In The Flies challenge and beats the viewer 38-33. Its also Steve’s Birthday this week and he gets a karaoke night.

  • Zig & Zag give the housemates a task with puppets of themselves, they have to talk through the puppets all afternoon which won a bit of a party for Steve. The following day theres also a drinking with yard glasses game where Steve was the barman and however many yard glasses the housemates drank, Nathan would inch further towards a dart board to throw how many points for alcohol that evening. The Yard glasses were mostly non alcoholic beer, but there were some other concoctions such as Wasabi hot sauce and water, a marmite ‘crappucinno’ etc.
  • Nominations, Funny moment I thought when Corin nominated Mario for too much sex talk convos all the time, when Mario nommed her back for feeling like he cant have a meaningful convo with Corin lately. Its a rehash of Week 1 as Dave, Sunshine and Shabby are up. Later Dave is ‘Drunk on the Lord’ again and jokes to JJ that if he wins the veto, he’ll put JJ up because its about time he had a turn. JJ laughs it off but tells the others he thinks Dave’s actually being serious and he’s not sure how to take it.
  • BB has installed mechanical raising beds this season and uses the function on Ben the next morning. JJ & Ben end up having a bicker for a long time for something or other JJ said about him trying to promptly go back to sleep one the bed folded back down.
  • Meanwhile, Ife bargains with BB for some more Tobacco. BB agrees but on the condition that items from all the housemates have to be used as exchange, including specific items from the smokers such as Shabby’s main hat. Shabby puts up a huge fuss over this, having an almighty strop in the nest when Josie comes back from the diary room saying BB wouldn’t accept the other items she tried to exchange. Eventually she comes in with Caoimhe to hand deliver it to BB saying she hopes it was worth it. She also is thinking of requesting to walk, and confides in JJ about it. Ultimately though she decides to stay although She also tells JJ that she might still walk if Caoimhe (who had been replaced and put up by Dave winning the picture slide veto task) goes, but she’s not sure if Caoimhe would do the same for her, and thinks Caoimhe cares more about the game than she realises.
  • Josie also gets a bit frustrated with JJ seemingly overanalysing who has a game plan of late and has an argument with him in the nest over (IMO) mistaking him trying to explain his views on people who walk not realising how tough the house can be until they come in as ‘trying to twist everything back onto her’ iykwim and now she is the one looking like she’s the paranoid one. I think she overreacted a little bit there.

  • Tree of temptation gives Ben a secret task to win back the rest of the housemates suitcases - by staging an arm wrestling competition, beating a girl, and throwing in some rhyming slang. He doesn’t try very hard and as soon as Shabby shuts down the idea, he pretty much gives up. He gets told by the tree he’ll get punished the next day for not doing it.
  • Later JJ is mucking around with Sunshine, after she threw a bottle of water on him, trying to throw her in the pool. She gets a bit of carpet burn though as he’s a little rough with her and gets upset worried her panties are showing and it wont look good for her medical career kindof thing. Threatening to walk, She has BB call Mario into the diary room to calm her down. BB also gives JJ a talking to saying he should apologise after everything has cooled down the next day.
  • Ben’s punishment part 1 is that he must ensure he gets the ‘stand up’ role in the shopping task, which is themed around Jokes and Comedy. However Steve Nathan and dave spot him talking to himself in the bathroom and Ben ends up blabbing about the tree, but not the exact details of his task. Josie fails her ‘complete the Dumb Blonde jokes’ part of the task, as do Corin, Ife, Steve, Nathan dressed in various outfits trying to laugh continuously for over 3 hours. JJ and Dave are dressed in chicken suits in a chicken coop outside and must read out Chicken crossing the road jokes every time the chickens in the pen cross the road. During this time Sunshine and JJ look like they’re going to kick off and argue about the apology again, but Josie tells them to cool it and quit winding each other up. Dave gives JJ a pep talk and later he and Sunshine were on good terms again.
  • Sunshine (dressed as Englishman) Shabby (Scotsman) and Caoimhe (Irishman) have to find the punchline to the joke on screen in the small. task room by searching for pop sticks, chocolate wrappers and bon bons pull crackers that are spilled into the room.

  • The task results so far are read out - its now down to Ben’s part of the task, which is revealed t be a 90 second stand up routine - outside the front doors of the house to the eviction crowd! Shabby is a bit miffed that he might get to see or hear what the likely outcome of the Eviction will be, while the others try to speculate the logistics of how it’s gonna work.
  • Meanwhile Mario’s been a little snippy with Ben of late, at first telling Ife and Caoimhe that it’s partly he’s a bit angry with himself he gets caught up in flirting too much with Ben and its a waste of time (earlier Ben complained about being too anal and Mario replies ‘I Wish you liked anal’ lol), but also an offhand joke that Ben made about hanging out with Mario might ‘affect his US tv career’ pissed Mario off like Ben’s showed his game plan hand and he needs to be wary of him a little more now like he’s ashamed to be seen amongst ‘too much gayness’ which is ridiculous as Ife mentions considering at first glance you could mistake Ben as being more camp than Mario is. Ben as he does keeps following Mario around the house trying to apologise and insist it was just a silly joke that didn’t mean anything, Mario just needs a bit of space and tells Ben to focus on his stand up task. Caoimhe also tells Ben give him some breathing room.
  • Ben performs his task to the crowd and it goes over well, passing the task. Sunshine is evicted, apparently it was close between her and Caoimhe, and the odds were jumping around a bit all week. I think Shabby is beginning to turn a bit of a corner, also giving her and Caoimhe’s storyline more room. Bob Righter this week is in the hands of the Tree, giving Ben second part of his punishment.

  • BBLB: Zig & Zag’s interviews this week were for Alex from BB3, and Sophie from BB10. Govan had a VT with Nadia from BB5, also judging the F&F’s funny stories on the Friday episode. Matt Littler & Darren Jefferies from Hollyoaks were back, doing this weeks Evictee Drawing, and also having a go of this week’s You Vs Housemates challenge ‘Spinning Around’. Sam & Mark were also a duo back on.
  • Jenni Trent Hughes made a return appearance, also Tina Malone, Nikki Grahame on the episode with all the puppets from the task, BB9’s Mikey behind Davina and Emma testing out the stand up microphone outside the house, Emily Atack fro The Inbetweeners in the Big Mouth studio, and more. Basshunter also did the outro performance with his song ‘Saturday’ on the Sunday episode.
  • Big Mouth: Guests were Jarred Christmas, Jodie Marsh, Tom Allen back on socials. Musical guest Skepta again with song ‘Rescue Me’ as outro while BB10’s Marcus did Karate moves in the corner. They also did up Sunshine as Lady Gaga with the drink cans in hair for a mini performance of Bad Romance.

    Onto the next few episodes!

Although no contact with the outside world is a fundamental rule I did like how in BB11 they were willing to break with the format a bit, just like the revamp in BB5 saw some things done they'd have never done before.

Although no contact with the outside world is a fundamental rule I did like how in BB11 they were willing to break with the format a bit, just like the revamp in BB5 saw some things done they'd have never done before.
Yeah this was a little milder I thought as per breaking the immersion compared to and didn’t even go as far as the fake eviction in BB8 played back to the house which was much more highly controlled, with Ben’s task like they mentioned he would’ve been nervous and focused on doing his routine to be looking out for anything, plus with the spotlight on him, whether the crowd was fake/holding any signs etc for that part or not as well for all they knew.

I would think many of them would’ve remembered the BB8 one, even John James lately has been the one telling Josie etc when they might guesstimate getting a couple of new housemates based on how many weeks and earlier seasons and stuff.

BBUK11 Week 4 Done:
  • Ife takes part in the Spinning Around You Vs Housemates and beats the viewer 30-25. Mykel Hawke comes into the small task room as part of Ben’s Tree of Temptation Punishment giving him a boot camp style drill. Btw I did some more reading on Myke with some of his recent appearances I was starting to question if he was actually some type of character like Keith Lemon but no apparently he was legit from US Special Forces background. Ben draws the line at the pushups and refuses to continue, instead throwing Dave in to do it in his place, which the others chatter about Ben being so willy nilly to not do tasks for the team. Dave completes the task and wins the housemates suitcases back, except Ben, whose suitcase only contains a placard reading ‘This wrath is brought to you by The Tree of Temptation’.
  • Nathan gets frustrated over the latest shopping list chaos, again its got the others feeling like he’s being controlling over the kitchen. Meanwhile Mario and Ben are talking to each other again and kind-of make up over their falling out last week.

  • Mini task for a party for the winning team is Wheelchair basketball, ran by Steve as the coach (they had a couple of his team mates on BBLB this week). It’s 3 a side, with Ben, Josie, Caoimhe and Ife are the cheerleaders. The Nathan/Corin/JJ side wins, taking Steve and Ife to the party whilst the rest of them are confined to the bedroom.
  • However this causes friction as the bored housemates entertain themselves by moving the mattresses around, which annoys Steve, Nathan and Corin in particular as they don’t want their stuff being strewn around. Also Shabby and Caoimhe appear to be mocking Ife’s dancing through the window as ‘Cringy’ which Ife doesnt take to well. She has an argument with the both of them and is too angry to speak to them trying to explain their side until the next day. This leads to both Shabby and Caoimhe asking to leave in the diary room, agreeing to come back in the morning to decide.
  • The next day is quite eventful, as nominations loom but theres also the issue of where Shabby and Caoimhe are at. Ife calls a truce with them, but its a conversation between Josie and Nathan about the previous night and the mattresses that has Shabby and Nathan kicking off against each other and solidifies Shabby’s decision to walk, wanting to discuss with Caoimhe on her way to the diary room but Caoimhe doesn’t want to talk right now and thinks Nathan is a bully. Shabby walks and it comes as a shock to Caoimhe as BB announces it to the house as she hadn’t realised she already left. Noms take place, It’s the first head to head vote of the season as John James and Caoimhe are up. Ife slips into noms talk discussing the nominations with JJ and the others in the bathroom, so BB turns off the hot water again next day.

  • A large robot ‘Titan’ is revealed behind the panel in the bathroom, although it takes a little while for them to notice it until Steve points him out. Noms are announced, the save/replace task is a bucking TV task, whoever stays on longest wins. JJ says that he threw it to avoid having to make a decision on who to replace with who Caoimhe might still be evicted anyway. Although later in the diary room saying he wouldve probably chose Corin as the growing suspicion of her being fake from some of the housemates. Caoimhe promptly puts up Nathan in her place.
  • BB gives Josie a secret ‘Shoes for Booze’ task to bring as many of the other housemates shoes to the diary room undetected. She is allowed to enlist one other housemate for this which she gets John James to carry the first bag in, but they come unstuck as Caoimhe cottons on that her shoes are missing and the others see Josie slink away to the diary room. However BB gives Josie one can of lager for her efforts.

  • The Shopping task is revealed as the Housemates wake up to Titan in the lounge area and the robots and ‘Big Brobot’ have taken over the house (and the narration and scene titles). The task will be to compete in several ‘Man Vs Machine mini tasks against Titan, losers have to wear a robot suit and wont participate in the final battle, which is one of those Robot wars arenas in the backyard, remaining housemates rover bots having to last 3 minutes against ‘Bigger Brother’. JJ brings up to Ben that because he doesn’t care maybe he should go first in the pre tasks, should he lose become a robot now rather than not put effort in the final task.
  • Josie fails to clean the carpet faster than Titan with a vacuum cleaner, and Nathan fails to foot pump an air mattress. However Titan is clumsy and slow with a blender than Caoimhe mashing juice, Steve Whisking egg whites, and Ben cutting Daves hair (Davina also has a go at this one on BBLB although she’s not keen at all standing close to him.
  • Addition to this the housemates are told the garden is a robot zone and at any time can unleash some rover bots to chase them. Corin and Ife both get caught this way.

  • Ben gets Nathan huffy earlier in the week about a nest discussion of politicians wages, and again when they were discussing WW2 and Ben trying to explain his thoughts on Britain trying to be the worlds policeman offends Steve in the process, but afterwards they make up.
  • Meanwhile another B-plot is Caoimhe trying to Coax Dave off the fence about his religious beliefs causing a load of friction between them, Dave thinks Shabby’s antics were influencing Caoimhe but now it seems she is the one driving the mood in the house. It flares up again when Caoimhe gets annoyed Dave seems to be trying to shoehorn god and demons into it when someone brought up Hitler in regards to Ben’s WW2 debate. She later says in the diary room she was only trying to understand him more but she keeps on exacerbating the issue every time she comes and tries to smooth it over with Dave and overstate her point So she says she might just leave it alone for now to avoid more argument about it.
  • Mario, Ife and JJ also discuss Ben offloads tasks to others as JJ gets stuck into Ben about doing the washing up. Ben also attempts to explain Dave’s POV to Caoimhe whilst also bringing up an interesting point that people may be shy to nominate Steve because of his backstory. I agree in a way, Mario may have felt comfortable this week to chuck a vote his way because Steve was starting to arc up and raise his voice so there was a more tangible reason without feeling like he'd be looking like a bit of an a hole I guess, although one of Steve’s B-Ball teammates even was saying he has been quiet and maybe could be doing more to up his profile for winning beyond being just the decent guy and resting on his backstory alone iykwim. He had some moments with the whole robot task this week though.
  • Anyway, Bigger Brother bot flips and smooshes into the hole all of the housemates robots within 3 minutes, so they failed the task. Although earlier Dave’s wife spoke through Titan to say BB had given Dave a special meal planned in the Diary room for their anniversary.

  • John James starts doing impressions of Corin’s ‘you lovin it?' and 'OMG’ catchphrasing all the time. This gets back to her the following day when JJ starts doing in in the garden, which hits a bit of a trigger point and she has a bit of a go at him then retreats to the diary room where she can be faintly heard sounding off voice raised about him for quite a while.
  • The eviction takes place, JJ readies himself to go, but to their shock its Nathan Leaving (89% of the vote at that). Shabby also had a VT campaigning to get let back in as she kinda regretted walking, but still got her interview with Davina and also on Big Mouth. She also met Caoimhe’s Boyfriend during the week on BBLB.
  • 3 New housemates (Keeley, Rachel and Andrew) were previewed in BBLB and again during the Eviction show, getting ready for a big entrance - lifted by crane into the house in astronaut suits and a spaceship!. Bob Righter heralds their impending arrival by spitting out a card. Everyone gets to know the newbies as they settle in. Keeley in particular was standing next to Caoimhe at the Launch and reckons she was a bit snooty. Andrew reminds me a little of the Bradley from BBAU9/2012 kinda archetype which could be interesting, Rachel seems fun we’ll have to see how they go.

  • BBLB: Lady Sovereign was this weeks Evictee Depicted artist, also having a go at the ‘Spooning’ You Vs Housemates task and ‘That Gameshow thing’ with Sunshine. The Wanted sung All Time Low as the Sunday show outro.
  • Some of the other guests included Liz McClarnon from Atomic Kitten, Nathan from Celeb Hijack, Zoe SalmonDr Pam Spurr about Caoimhe’s reaction after Shabby left, and Basshunter interviewed some celebs for T4 on the beach VT including Jason Derulo. Zig & Zag interviewed Angel (BB10) and Michelle Bass (BB5).
  • Big Mouth had Shabby, Nathan, Tom Allen on Webwatch, Guests Seann Walsh and Jamelia. They also played Sunshine and Rachael’s spoof of the Gaga/Beyonce music video for Telephone (featuring BB8’s Billi who was also in audience) as they walked in studio in outfit. Sway was the Musical guest singing Pop a Bottle (and I think that was Jonty from BB8 dancing in a robot suit in the corner there).

    Onto the next few episodes!

BBUK11 Week 5 Done:
  • This week began with a Tree of Temptation task (after a week off) for John James to tell 11 fictitious things about Australia to win a video call home in the small task room, which he completes. Andrew takes on the Spooning You Vs Housemates task, but fails only managing to stick 4 spoons to his face, Ife gets offside with the group by arguing he should’ve gone for 6 if the viewer had completed 5.
  • JJ and Josie have a massive falling out over JJ having a go at Josie for calling him ‘Crab Eyes’ when she insists it was Steve and He should take it up with Steve rather than her. It gets to the point of Josie being prepared not to speak to JJ for the rest of the show and JJ crying in the diary room wanting to walk as he thinks the rest of his time in the house wont be worth not being able to resolve things with Josie.
  • He has BB call Josie into the Diary room to attempt a somewhat mediation session (Josie even admits its getting silly again as he fell for her lie about BB replaying conversations to her confirming she didn’t call him Crab Eyes) asking them to name 5 things they like about each other before JJ calms down and agrees to return to the house cause its getting hot in the diary room too. They end up being on ok ground with each other again for the moment.

  • There was a teams challenge to spin around then run to buzzers to answer questions about the newbies for an Italian feast. The following day was a spoof version of ‘(Don’t) Come Dine with Me’ complete with voiceover on the daily show (which I found amusing with some of the lines) for the newbies, to each cook Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner from a selection of ingredients for the others. Rachel cooks Bombay mix omelette, They quite liked Keeleys Rice curry and anchovy wrap, but then conspire to give Andrew a lot of 10’s for what he was left with being a liver, dragonfruit custard and pastry concoction. They had Chef Aldo on BBLB showing maybe he would’ve been better separating those dishes. Nevertheless he wins some cash. Dave also randomly decided to dress up in lip gloss and a wig.
  • Steve and Keeley appear to be getting on well and mucking around a lot, nicknamed the ‘Baron and Baroness’ of the house as they think Keeley may be vying for some position of authority in the house (also discussed by Judy James on BBLB). They become a little self aware if maybe the play fighting may come off looking liker flirting (Steve’s wife on the phone on BBLB seems to think theres nothing suss about it). but then Steve suddenly has a bit of a cold shoulder on Keeley the following day for a bit for some reason thinking she’s trying to take over or something. However they later clear the air about it all and that theres nothing flirting going on kinda thing.
  • Dave and the others keep Ben awake one morning and he wasn’t happy about it. Josie and the girls are also very jokey with Andrew about being a ladies man or whatever, whilst Mario kind of sets him a secret mission to have a conversation with each of the girls and kiss them on the cheek.
  • Nominees announced: Ife, Caoimhe and Corin - the veto task is a cowboy quick shoot with paint guns, having to hit a target on each others front. Caoimhe wins it and swaps with Mario, which he is initially again a bit annoyed by. Ife realises that the others may be playing a bit strategically, thinking perhaps Caoimhe maybe could’ve put Steve up instead of Mario. Josie also is annoyed with Dave about commenting on her weight but realises He only mentioned it because Josie herself brought the subject up.

  • This weeks shopping task was superhero themed. The housemates wake to Holding Out For A Hero, and notice the former Mole Hole is now named ‘Uber Cougar’s Lair’. They are played a video by the ‘Uber Cougar’ (face obscured by shadow, although Emma Willis read the news as her later in the week after also costumed as ‘Wonder Willis’) who announces she will be kidnapping the boys in her lair and its up to the Girls to be superheroes and win tasks to free them and money for the budget.
  • Buxom Bombshell (Corin) had to break open an ice sculpture of a man in 1 hour to retrieve some boys pants, Key-Va and Key - Lee have a clues to keys task where Caoimhe climbs up an incline to unlock boxes whilst Keeley drives around a mini car to the clue locations to bring her keys to unlock the pants. Corin picks Ben, Caomihe JJ and Keeley Mario to save.
  • Meanwhile the girls get gossipy about Josie fancying JJ and getting embarrassed about whether she does and getting awkward around him. Caoimhe lets slip to him after he twigs Josie is acting weird. Meanwhile Steve Andrew and Dave are still in the lair dancing to boys boys boys and Sinitta’s macho man and getting pampering products.
  • Josie has to run in front of a green screen while some hotdog song plays and has to make as many hotdogs with sauce on the go as she can. Rachel has to run to green screen flying room when her catch phrase is played. Flys with some extra effects to wind beneath wings, Josie picks Steve to come back leaving Dave and Andrew in the lair. Ife fails to hold the cutout car up for 5 mins, as its a pretty windy day. The task ends and they free the other two.
  • Josie gets a bit moody again, this time with Caoimhe joking and teasing her about using some of the budget for things like Carrots or something. Later she has Andrew prank JJ by going up to him to whisper in his ear to ‘back the f off, Josies mine now’ LOL.

  • Davina Macaw is finally put to use to randomly repeat former things said in the house by the housemates. The one that said it must insert their coin in Bob Righter for a prize. Ife jumps the gun on Keeley’s prize so she misses getting that one.
  • Later when Ife hears her actual quote, which was about telling Josie ‘why would a 24 year old cry in the diary room if he didn’t fancy you’, and asks for John James to give up his coin for her, which he was saving to give to Josie should she need it. Once he hears what was said though he gets annoyed and starts arguing the point like he does with Ife who tries to justify herself. It simmers down once Josie finally hears her quote (rubbing it in as its the one about fancying JJ in a football kit) in front of him and collects her chocolates prize.
  • Ife is evicted, followed by a live Tree Of Temptation task kicking off as Ben is called to the diary room. The others must all dress up as Ben and be as posh as they can for 24 hrs to win Ben his suitcase back. Later Ben and JJ have another disagreement about Ben’s apparent need for approval of the public which JJ doesn’t care for after Ben makes a poor taste joke about JJ and unemployment or something or other. Anyway, they bicker about it for a good hour in the bedroom until Mario waltzes in to lighten the mood by taking off his pants and standing in front of JJ. LOL.

  • Speaking of scant clothing, Dane Bowers was the Sunday BBLB outro this week singing his single All She Needs, getting the giggles throughout as John McCririck (also one of this week’s Zig and Zag interviewees) was dancing over in the audience in his underwear.
  • Some more BBLB Guests included Nathan cooking for a mini date with Rachael, Sam Fox, the ‘Asparamancer’ who I think was also on in BB9 was back, Nicola T attempted this week’s You Vs Hm’s (Fruity Fingers, peeling an orange with gloves on), Kinga (BB6) & David (BB10), Zig & Zag’s other interview was BB10’s Freddie.
  • On Big Mouth BB8’s Carole came in to do a mini Britney Slave 4 U performance with the snake outfit, Guests Lauren Socha, Sean Hughes and Ife, Musical Guest was Donae’o with ‘I’m Fly’.

  • On the don’t come dine with me task I was also thinking they perhaps if they wanted to be really harsh twists have had the newbie who won inadvertently be the one this week for a switch up to do the save and replace. Also I’ll make a guess with Davina Macaw I had a thought could perhaps be used in one later week or the final round of noms suddenly being present in the diary room, or without the housemates being aware in like ‘a little bird told me’ or something and sortof like last season where they outright showed them all their previous noms of each other in a compilation, but here like replaying random lines of a nomination out to them and the housemates guessing who it could be about or announcing who’s up that way or something like that maybe haha. But we’ll see if She is used for something else later on.

BBUK11 Week 6 Done:
  • A Packed week! The Being Ben task continues BB Tells Ben he will be performing ‘A Ben Soiree’ later on, which will include Corin accompanying him on keyboard singing Shirley Bassey’s ‘Goldfinger’ which he teaches to her. He also has him make up some ‘Ben Commandments’ for the day for the others, and wins the suitcase back.
  • Meanwhile Josie is super paranoid about the way Caoimhe was carrying on drunk the other night and ‘all over’ John James, after Josie told her that she had feelings for him, She gets this off her chest to some of the others in the Nest, then brings it up with Caoimhe the following day, but quickly regretting it as it seems this being a huge triggering moment for Caoimhe who feels mortified that’s how its coming across and wants to leave again.
  • After they’ve both calmed down (Josie also muted both her and John James’ mics outside and seemingly telling him how she feels honestly) Caoimhe further discussing it with John James on how he feels about it gets back to Josie that Caoimhe was trying to say she didn’t know that Josie liked him (but it may have been lost in translation she meant she didn’t know Josie had it down BAD to that extent for him until this whole debacle that day). Anyways Josie is a bit wary of her again.

  • Steve parks himself on Keeley’s bed for the afternoon whilst Keeley relays a story about how she’s dated a few Footballers but finds she’s been mislabelled often as a ‘Wannabe WAG’.
  • Theres a party and cake for the 10th anniversary of the first airing of BBUK. The following day after nominations (Steve’s vote pushes Rachel above the rest of a tie on 2pts to Caoimhe’s 7 nominations) theres a mini task comp that is quite comical with slo mo action in a kindof of tug of war with stockings over the heads and faces smushed up. Steve makes the pair ups, and Caoimhe gets competitive as Keeley reckons she’s gonna win in their match up, but Caoimhe takes it out. Mario also has bit of a sulky moment losing to John James, which Dave and Ben discuss later. Winners got a party with pampering products (Andrew and Dave get right into spray tanning each other later), whilst Josie and John James get a punishment for the mic muting by having to write something on each other.

  • Caomihe tells the others that she really cant hack it anymore and has made the resolute decision to leave the next day. Later in the bedroom Keeley overhears Caoimhe discussing it with John James and misinterprets it as bitching about the others which causes a bit of a bedroom argument.
  • The next morning they smooth things over as Caoimhe prepares herself to leave and is given a sendoff by the others. On BBLB she is reunited with Shabby while she also gets a special segment with Davina on the Eviction show and appears on Big Mouth. Of course BBLB uses the ‘Keeva Leava’ rhyming in BBLB News, while there were a few Irish people in the Big Mouth Audience who cleared up that it can be pronounced ‘Queevah’ but Caoimhe said she usually spells hers with a K and prefers the pronunciation ‘Keevah’. Another note was she was the attemptee in You Vs Housemates this week for the Fruity Fingers, but failed to peel the orange quicker than the viewer (about 59 seconds to viewers 20 seconds).

  • John James has a bit of a cry over Caoimhe leaving. Theres a further shake up in the noms as they are announced as Keeley’s nominations made have also been voided by saying to Steve she wouldn’t nominate him, whilst all votes for Caoimhe were also discarded. Meaning its Rachel, Keeley and Corin up.
  • The Save and Replace task is called ‘Spiders in a bathtub’ which involves the first housemate to successfully scale the halfpie wall and get on top wins. As they all struggle together though, Keeley badly sprains her ankle which really distresses Rachel as Corin attempts to keep going with the task (after asking if Keeley is ok) until its called time out as Keeley is taken to the diary room for assessment.
  • Later Ben gets in a squabble again with Andrew and John James for a moment as he tries to justify why he wasn’t with everyone crowding around Keeley’s bed before she is taken off to Hospital as Mario tries to de-escalate and separate him and John James to see Keeley off. Later John James also comes to the diary room to debrief about being really unsure how to handle the whole Josie declaring her feelings thing and even brings up thoughts of he should just walk to escape the whole thing but BB nudges him to try talking to Josie again to sort it out.

  • New shopping task is obviously inspired by Glee, Housemates wake up to Fame! and the house decked out as ‘BB High - home of The Parrots’. They get played an intro by Andrew Stone, who enters the house to help select a duet for the video among other tasks that will need to get over 100K of views on BB Website by Friday as part of their Glee Club. LOL. Josie first thought Stone was H from Steps LOL. He gives them a dance class to Olivia Newton John’s Physical, and They all dress as different groups, Geeks/Geekettes, Jock and Cheerleaders and audition in the ‘Dance Studio’ with different songs including Greatest love of all, I Believe I can Fly, Hero by Enrique Iglesias and Flying with out Wings by Westlife etc.
  • Some of the housemates (particularly Dave) think it might be rigged for John James and Josie to be picked by A.Stone for the main leads but its Steve and Rachel with Second lead Mario and Corin. Andrew is left with a guitar solo which he does really well at but also a bit of snark at Stone about. Ben has some issues with his hair and Mario thinks as per usual he’s not putting in any effort. They all go to small task room to record the Don’t Stop Believing song after rehearsing it earlier. John James and Josie are getting a bit touchy during naps lately.
  • The Eviction is announced as cancelled, as Keeley is still recovering from surgery on her ankle, but later decides to continue resting at home and wont be returning to the house.
  • The Following day, Housemates Film the DSB Music video with Andrew Stone’s camera crew coming into the house, Ben Bitches a little about Mario having a few Divo like moments with it. A Stone announces Andrew/Corin as the winners of the Duet outside the house on eviction night. Dave theorises they may have wanted John James and Josie but John James ended up not being that up to it vocally, so Andrew/Corin have the comedic factor after their rehearsal of Ive Had The Time Of My Life in the Dance Studio. A Stone leaves the house after that. John James and Josie continue being snuggly.

  • Friday Morning; After earlier in the week looking like they were getting closer, Ben is bitching about Rachel talking all night keeping him awake. However they talk it out in the bathroom and later theres a moment where Dave and Ben come off as two supportive male relatives to Rachel or something I thought LOL. Some of the group speculate about John James and Josie feelings for each other.
  • Andrew and Corin perform on the eviction show, starting out not coming in at the right time but the crowd helps them get to the chorus. After they return BB announces the video got over 100K views so they passed the task. Also, as was earlier revealed on BBLB, The housemates will be played 6 short intros for potential newbies, and must pick 3 of them. Theres Jo, Meghan and Laura for the girls, and JJ, Joel and Sam for the boys. John James puts it to a vote as they only have a minute to decide, and they choose in order JJ, Jo and Laura. Gee, now theres 4 J housemates with similar names (plus I’m gonna have to stop using JJ as shorthand for John James in the next updates LOL). I think a pretty good mix though.
  • Laura lets slip to Josie that John James saying he doesn’t look at her like that in Diary room John James tells Josie it wasn’t in a bad way though and later says I love you in bed together.

  • Some of the BBLB Guests this week included Scouting For Girls doing the Sunday outro song with ‘Popular’ and each member doing some things during the ep like Evicted Depicted, That Gameshow thing and holding the car above their head during the chat with the others like Ife. Stacey Solomon from X Factor was back
  • Zig & Zag interviewed Samanda (BB8) and Luke (BB9). Sophie (BB3) also made an appearance during that gameshow thing, and Rodrigo from BB10 dropped in as well.
  • You Vs The HMS’ Caoimhe failed to win the Fruity Fingers one with a time of 59seconds or so against viewers 20 seconds, Apprentice’s Raef tried this weeks ‘Full of Beans’ which was chop-sticking baked beans across bowls. Andrew Stone was on teaching Brian Belo some dance moves and did a BBLB outro with his band ‘Starman’. (I checked out a little of that Pineapple Dance Studios show he was on, funny. Ife and BB7’s Grace also had a VT set there dancing to the BB Theme.).
  • Andrew Stone was also part of This weeks eviction show with Davina and on Big Mouth, alongside guests Kim Woodburn and Doc Brown (and Caoimhe). Musical guest was Mz Bratt, with David (BB10) in a cheerleader outfit dancing to her song ‘Selecta’.

    Onto the next few episodes!

Yes, your JJ references had been confusing me knowing there was another JJ to be added to the mix.

Still baffles me really Josie wasn't widely seen as a complete bitch that series as she really was horrid at times and others in that position would have got voted out at the first chance. 15 years later though she is deservedly one of our most loved daytime TV stars.

BBUK11 Week 7 Done:
  • The 3 new housemates are set a task by BB called ‘Dave-ja-Vu’ where they have to retell the same story 3 times to Dave/ with him in earshot, including the words, ‘Swimming Trunks’ (Jo), ‘Elephant’ (Laura) and the welsh place ‘Merthr Tydfil’ (JJ). Scotts Mills also tries this in his interview with George Lamb on BBLB. They suceeed and win the house a candy land themed party with costumes.
  • Earlier in the day both Steve and Mario seem to be having a lull of boredom and Steve thinks he wouldn’t mind leaving. Mario also randomly spending a lot of time on his own and he disappears from the party to hide in the toilet for a bit which is noticed by the others. They both discuss this with Rachel later and think it might also have something to do with the shake up in dynamics with new people arriving so will ride it out kinda thing.

  • Monday’s ep was hard to track for now, but I managed to get the gist through the various BBLB recaps. Main event was Tree of Temptation giving Andrew a 24 themed task which had him acting like Jack Bauer for 24 minutes, screaming at everyone to come to the bedroom and get on the floor as he explained some bull about a second house and there being some kindof swapsies and eviction. This won him a treat in the diary room with some model girls basically giving him a bit of a lapdance and attention. LOL.
  • Elsewhere topic brought up whether Ben is starting to become a flirt or is that just how it looks as Rachel and Ben have some sort of heated words in the bathroom over whether he’s playing off his affections for Rachel and turning around and seeming to chase Laura.
  • Corin showing appreciation for JJ’s looks was also a topic of discussion on Big Mouth whether its harmless admiration of his ‘fit’ factor vs she should watch how that might come across seeing how she has a girlfriend.

  • The following episode is another dramatic one. First up was noms, Dave is automatically up as punishment for discussing noms with Ben beforehand. On tally Ben is up on 4, followed by John James and Steve tied on 3pts. Then, John Jomes puts his foot in it with Josie, muting his mic and repeating to her what he was discussing with Dave etc in the nest earlier that he doesn’t want to come across like he’s leading her on, comparing it to the Shabby and Caoimhe situation, which Josie doesn’t take well, suggesting he should swap beds with JJ, and refusing to discuss it any further walking off away from him for some space.
  • This sends John James into a tailspin. again though, and after discussing things with JJ, whom he’s grown close to, suddenly he walks past Josie at the carousel apologising and breaks the fire exit in an escape attempt, JJ and Dave going after him into the camera run.
  • After producers calm him down, he agrees to return to the house and Josie relents and tells him he’s being silly (again) and making her look silly also, and they seemingly sort it out.
  • Later Laura also suddenly gets emotional and confides in Corin that she wants to leave partly because she’s finding it difficult and cant hack it and partly due to a pre-existing issue with her boyfriend cheating or something. She agrees to sleep on it. The next day though she comes to Big Brother again and meanders a bit, after the others convince her to give it maybe a week and see how she feels.

  • Josie and John James have now started stealing kisses beneath those covers, and Josie tells Corin about it. The Save and Replace task is amusing as its 4 guys up, and its a Bride throwing the bouquet task with them all dressed in Wedding dresses, throwing the bouquet to their chosen helper dressed in red spandex suits. Steve has Corin, John James JJ, Dave Mario and Ben has Laura. It comes down to a sudden death round where the helper has to stay stationary. JJ misses his catch whilst Corin wins it for Steve, who replaces himself with Andrew. Josie later wears the wedding dress teasing John James.
  • Andrew proceeds to get a bit drunk on wine, after chatting with Mario about his crush on Josie and to her about if she and John will see each other outside, BB calls him and Dave to diary room to drink water after he bangs into the bathroom door and helps clean him up later on. He later chats with Joh James about not having to feel awkward around each other and that its just a crush and they have no ill feeling towards one another (after John James discusses his crush with Dave and Josie).
  • After getting up in the morning and having a chat with Jo and Corin in the bathroom about random stuff, Laura decides to just complete her walk by breaking the fire exit. It takes a while for the others to notice she’s gone until BB announces it.

  • New shopping task is the classic ‘Ignore the obvious’ The housemates are allowed to incur a certain number of reaction fails, but this number (88) is hidden in a safe in the bedroom until the end of the task. The task instructions are delivered by a Male stripper postman. Some of the other things during that day included a marching band streaming through the backyard and house, an open house walkthrough with a Real estate agent and couple, a bunch of people dressed as Zombies wandering through the bedroom and disappearing through the closet, Ben’s friend as a toilet attendant, Corin getting cream pies rubbed on her in the diary room, and Marcus Bentley casually hanging around announcing whats going on in the house as it happens.
  • Mario’s grandfather also was dressed as Santa sitting next to him in the diary room. Mario earlier was getting annoyed with Ben’s Quiz game in the Nest, where they were both teasing each other a little over pandering to their interests or whatever. Later Mario was stirring Ben up by just staring at him and Laura without saying anything. He was also feeling a bit sulky with Ben doing the quiz again later and giving Andrew questions about James Bond, and goes off to the diary room for a bit stil a bit annoyed with not talking to his grandfather when he could’ve seeing as some of the others aren’t taking the task that seriously.

  • The following day the task continues right up through the eviction. They had a random hot guy come in and nude up against the wall showering and then sit by them in a towel for a moment LOL. Dave and Steve’s wives also dropped by for a sit at a table set up in the backyard. Ben has to try and remain composed in the diary room whilst a Clown pops balloons full of things, and some one came in to put up a poster advertising the eviction show performance by Jedward of their cover of All The Small Things from the house garden (John James: ‘Oh I Hate those guys! ….Ben and Dave!’ LOL).
  • Davina comes through the house during the eviction and reads the eviction numbers next to them. Ben is evicted (john James again surprised it wasnt him, Andrew and Dave were saved first, and he has been saying he thinks he would go). Josie is relieved, she’s been confiding in Corin about kissing John James and stuff. I thought it would’ve been interesting to see Ben without Dave, but OTOH Daves been in and out kinda thing with the entertainment and Ben started to plateau a little lately, getting a little more bitchy and the putting his foot in it then trying to backpedal and overexplain himself was perhaps starting to wear a little bit imo. More on that in the end of season wrap ups.
  • Sam Pepper was already announced as Laura’s replacement, and he enters the house as part of the task, the safe key around his neck and a gigantic ’New housemate’ arrow sign on his head and T-shirt that says ‘Ignore Me’. He baits Josie saying she was being a bitch just in a stirring way, which she bites back at a little. BB reveals Jedward playing their song outside and then they take their time exiting, setting off an alarm on the way out LOL crazy.
  • BB allows them to interact with Sam, and later has him read out the contents of the safe. The Housemates failed 86 times so very close but they passed.
  • Sam continues stirring up Josie (apparently they spent time in Lockdown together) by mimicking her sucking her thumb and stuff, but a bit later on, He is joking with her parodying John James under the covers and he’s laughing at it too. Andrew was initially a bit iffy with him too. It’ll be interesting to see how he gets on, hes already got a bit of the personality by way of last name kinda like Jon Tickle from BB4 somewhat haha.

  • BBLB: Zig & Zag’s interview was Nikki Grahame this week, Rodrigo from BB10 had a VT with Keeley bit of update on her. BB6’s Maxwell was part of that gameshow thing segment and had a bit with Emma too, Jedward were on about their upcoming performance in the house, Aston from JLS was on the phone a mate of JJ’s.
  • Some more BBLB Guests included Keith Lemon, an ex special forces/stuntman about Andrews Jack Bauer task Emma and a producer entered the house in gorilla suits as part of ignore the obvious, whilst Rav Wilding entered as a cross from BBLB walking through the house. Emma’s mum came on during Davina’s interview dressed as Santa, and the F&F recreated the bouquet throwing. Marina & The Diamonds were Sunday’s musical outro with ‘Oh No’.
  • Big Mouth was a little crazy too, with Guests comedians Ava Vidal & Rich Fulcher joined Jedward on web watch, they had Ben do a autocue to camera as some strip line, whilst it was a bit fall over each other for a minute as Ben went to kiss on cheek some of the audience on request and Davina, Rich and Jedward all were falling around set LOL. hey had another quiz style outro with creating Fragrance slogans and stuff for Andrew and Ben, and musical Outro was Dj Fresh feat Cec’ile on ‘Gold Rush’ whilst BB10’s Freddie stripped in the corner.

    Onto the next few episodes!

BBUK11 Week 8 Done:
  • Sam is given a secret task by BB to win his suitcase back by passing off 4 outrageous outfits (including a hat thats similar to Shabby’s, a pink velour tracksuit and other items) as his own that he’s brought in until further notice. The housemates all cotton on eventually though and during which Sam also gets a talking to for waving his crotch in Josie’s face during a play fight in the yard. I wonder if John James was thinking luckily he was clothed otherwise Turkey Slap flashbacks anyone? Sam will now only have these clothes until further notice.
  • The housemates get the video messages from home played in the lounge an Steve gets a bit emotional seeing his kids. (They also had Keeley go visit them in a VT this week on BBLB).
  • Josie and Sam start one upping one another after Josie John James and JJ all in on a prank to dip Sam’s toothbrush in nail stuff so it tastes weird. Sam puts Garlic in Josie’s Pillowcase which is intercepted by John James. Josie gets the shits after walking in on a discussion about selling their story to the magazines and Sam with no filter reckons Josie would be the type who would.
  • John James tries to reason with her to give Sam the benefit of the doubt kinda thing as they were all having that discussion, Whilst Jo thinks everyone taking sides in the argument is getting a bit ridiculous and circular iykwim, as Rachel Dave and some of the others try and tell Sam that having some forethought before you speak isn’t always holding yourself back tiptoeing around issues and being fake, theres no benefit to just saying things that only go out of your way to shit on others. The next day Sam is still prying into Josie and John James relationship status but at the same time he and Josie kindof move forward again.

  • Mini task to open a box in the garden is a ‘Playground endurance task’ which sees the housemates each try and perform various Playground activities, last one standing wins the prize. After Corin gives up Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes, Its down to Mario and Sam on the rocking things and JJ and John James on the See Saw, with Andrew persisting with the Slide. They end up throwing it in agreeance to let Andrew win the prize, which turns out to be an Arabian Night themed dinner in the Nest. He chooses Corin to come and Sam to silently fan them in the corner.
  • Nominations, Mario ends up ahead on 5 points followed by a tie between John James and Rachel. John James and Josie mute their mics again under the covers and get a day long punishment not to be allowed in the same room together and not sleep in the same bed. They circumvent this as far as they can sitting on opposite sides of doors, where Jo has a bit of a go at explaining the pov on their relationship saying the way John James is keeping his cards to his chest about where its headed is creating a lot of drama, curiosity and mystique (Sam thinking it should be ‘Britain’s Business’) where Josie asks John James why they should have to label it. They end up sleeping next to each other on the floor.
  • Dave is given a Tree of Temptation task to get 3 housemates to genuinely Yawn to win a message from his kids - he fails though as he starts making it way too obvious. So the message is read to him in the diary room in the Tree’s voice - but played in reverse.
  • Josie starts getting annoyed with Sam again asking questions, and is also a bit tense with John James in her pov appearing to give him a pass only because he’s trying to empathise with him being on the outside of the group dynamic and doesn’t want to make the house mood needlessly worse iykwim.

  • Noms are announced and the Save and replace task is dressed in velcro cockroach suits, housemates must crawl along a velcro mat and swat a fly at the end. Mario has the quickest time, but causes a whole thing about his method for selecting his swap. He flipped a button after telling everyone his deduction method, between Steve and Dave, ultimately choosing Dave - but not announcing which side was which beforehand. Again Jo gets a bit over how John James and Dave appear to keep going over the same points in debriefing with Mario about it (There was also a kindof panel between Mario’s friend, Aisleyne and Shabby on BBLB about it where Mario’s friend tried to explain He hadn’t fully thought it through how it might look like he was going to pick Dave all along not calling it beforehand).
  • Another secret booze task has Andrew hiding a glass bottle in the toilet closet and guarding it, faking being sick whilst BB tells Jo separately to search for it. She doesn’t find it, which means Andrew won them the booze.
  • The housemates had also been teasing Corin all day about her crush on JJ. The topic comes up that he could sleep in her bed tonight as they are two of he only few without a bed partner (Sam has been sharing with Rachel). After a bit of cuddling, scandalous it seems as theres some movement beneath the duvet thats not quite clear if its innocent hand placement or giving JJ some slap and tickle iykwim (it seems suggestive as she asks him if she should stop and he tells her not to) LOL.
  • Of course this is heavily discussed on Big Mouth and BBLB but they only have spoken to Corin’s sister on the phone and Davina was one of the very few reminder mentions that Corin has a girlfriend. The girlfriend we haven’t heard anything from yet we don’t know what their relationship is like, whether this is flirting thats gone a bit too far or whatever (and Corin discusses it’s awkwardness with Jo and Josie afterwards), and the Gf was also curiously absent from Corin’s messages from home. Hmm the plot thickens.

  • Shopping task is all things Charles Dickens. John James is not impressed with his role as one of 2 ‘Mrs Habershams’ having to spend 24 hours with Rachel in the task room wearing a dress. He checks with BB whether leaving Rachel to do it on her own is allowed which its not. They agree to throw it in after a few hours to watch the ‘Fagan’s Gang’ from Oliver Twist (Andrew as Oliver, JJ as Artful Dodger, Sam, Josie and Jo as the rest) perform ‘Consider Yourself’. Their video must pass 100K views on the website. Sam annoys the crap out of Josie again during rehearsals and even JJ is getting a bit flustered.
  • Steve has to go to the dartboard every time ‘Bullseye’ is played, and stay until he hits a bullseye. Corin is Scrooge, who has about 78 coins to meter out to the others as she sees it when they ask to do things like cook, shower etc. Unbeknownst to her she must keep at least 28 coins (number is hidden in Steve’s eyepatch) to pass that part.
  • Dave is Mr Bumble and must serve up the housemates bowls of gruel 3 times a day. He later has a bit of debate with John James about his method of giving housemates uneven amounts as a strategy to who is most likely to eat more of it, initially giving Sam a whole heap as a gag. Andrew even comes up and does the famous ‘More’ line.

  • Dave, John James and Rachel (the nominees) cant stop joking about how Sam is a surefire nomination sponge next week - The housemates are played this conversation back on the screen and told that as punishment those 3 cannot nominate Sam next week. Josie later gets done for the same thing.
  • Tree of Temptation gives Josie and JJ a secret task to double the budget if they manage to pickpocket 5 of the housemates task items. They complete this. Sam has an argument with Corin over what he deems wasting the gold coins. They don’t know that they have passed 3 fails for that task and failed it already (Josie made herself a sandwich without a coin for one).
  • Josie tells the girls (and later John James a bit embarrassingly for her) she is starting to get a bit sexually frustrated with him at times. Sam inadvertently relays outside info by giving an opinion on John James might be popular on the outside (he still thinks he’s a good shot to go) and it would be harder if He and Josie were up against each other. A punishment is coming for this.
  • Mario is ‘David Copperfield’ the illusionist, - he’s been practicing for a magic performance, which he does as this week’s outside on eviction night feature, producing Davina from a box. Rachel is evicted. Afterwards BB gathers the housemates in the task room to announce the task results. Dave Failed his part for a costume fail, Corin kept over 28 coins but failed for other reasons. The online video got over 170000 views. They won 150 pound which doubled to 300.

  • BBLB: Ben was used a bit, from his interview being done as a chat show with him hosting, He interviewed Vanessa Feltz, got a haircut, did some background pickpocket gags and went to a Shirley Bassey (Tribute?) show (VT to be shown on Sunday’s BBLB. Zig & Zag’s Interviews were Nadia (BB5) and Jon Tickle (BB4);
  • Some other guests included Judy James, Melanie Blatt from All Saints, Sam Pepper’s graffiti gang. Australian actor Adam Garcia did Ben’s evicted depicted and took part That Gameshow thing (which also had a ‘Gladiators’ style round featuring BB9’s Mario and BB10’s Marcus)
  • Brian Dowling was on discussing a diagram of the housemates who were in different lockdown groups together which was interesting - Josie, Sam, Mario and Keeley were all together, also Caoimhe and Dave, and Ben and Nathan. Davina chat with Emma was them stuck to the wall in the cockroach suits. Sunday’s musical outro was Tinchy Strder and backup singing ‘In My System’
  • Big Mouth: Guests were Rik Edwards and George Lamb, with Rachel. Comedian Micky Flanagan was on webwatch, whilst Ben came in with a prop chainsaw after a wacky VT spoof of Eminem’s Stan ft BB9’s Kathreya, as ‘Beninem’, also playing ‘what’s Ben doing under the duvet?’. BB10’s Rodrigo also came in decked out in body paint and carnivale outfit as introducing the ‘Who Say Dis?’ game segment.

    Onto the next few episodes!
