BB 2025 season ratings thread

I hope next year will be longer because, for me, it takes about three to four weeks to really get involved in the show. If I don't know the housemates it's not the same for me; I end up just watching without the same level of excitement until I start to connect with the people.
If you look at it through the commercial side, the recent numbers give 10 and Paramount a strong hand when they’re dealing with agencies. Big Brother has delivered consistent reach across both linear and BVOD, which lets them go into negotiations with actual proof that the format lifts total audience rather than just patching gaps in the schedule. For advertisers who locked in inventory during those early weeks, they would have secured spots at some of the cheapest CPMs in the market. 10’s base rates sit lower than Seven and Nine, yet Big Brother ended up delivering competitive reach and solid co-viewing. That means agencies walked away with more audience than they paid for, which is the kind of thing they remember when they’re planning the next quarter. This also gives 10 room to nudge their pricing up in specific breaks around Big Brother or bundle premium BVOD inventory with the linear spots. When a network can show both uplift and consistency across platforms, it changes the way buyers treat their slate. I’d be surprised if 10 isn’t already using this in their upfront conversations.

I’m glad it’s been doing well and 10 took a risk bringing it back that looks to have paid off well for them.

I mean if you take out any former knowledge or ideas of what big brother is, there definitely has been some solid eps this season and not a bad season overall.

But i am definitely expecting and hopeful for a better season next year as I’m assuming they’ll put in a bigger budget, get more experienced crew and more thought into the series. I’m not expecting perfection, just a slight improvement at minimum.

I highly doubt they will, but I’m hoping just because it’s rated well they don’t get ahead of themselves and try and pull a stint like a celeb series as well or a massive 12 week series, as I think that’ll be overkill, I think an 8 week series is perfect.

Last night's ratings, unfortunately ratings like these will make the network and producers think the majority of people enjoy the showmances:

Big Brother had its best Thursday ratings of the season up 40,000 on the previous results to 556,000 last night. Another easy win in its timeslot in the key demos.

The previous week’s ep had 798,000 in consolidated.

This is where a four week pilot series made no sense - it tells them nothing and if anything gives a false impression of what works. Hopefully Ten look more at what fans and focus groups have to say rather than ratings alone. The real "pilot" will be how they react to things in the second run.

It gives them good ammunition to go sell sponsorships and up that budget.

The average ratings are good compared to any of Channel 7 seasons (probably except for the first season), but again, if the producers would take into consideration of the feedback and such, I think it will be better for sure. (and could compete with the likes of Love Island, whose reliance is on BVOD)
However, if they still don't learn from any of these (including bias editing and favouritism) then the ratings will start slipping like when Channel 7 did their second season in 2021.
I still think the livestream is still a gamechanger in keeping those ratings up high, but they really need to be "laxed" more on conversations and things that they can show or unmute, because those mutes and cuts alone will drive people away from the streams and the show itself in the long run.
