Yes but usually for scheduling purposes a show will go for 13 weeks (26 eps).

I think Shane and Sharn's best argument to the Brian and Monika would be that if Shonella get to the end they would have an amazing story of success about how they got there even though the Contenders were outnumbered at merge, so that's why they have to get rid of them.
