Episode Australian Survivor (2016) - Episode 26 FINALE Discussion

Can we keep US Survivor out of this thread please? It has its own thread.

Sorry I am a few episodes behind and can do without the spoilers.

Ok sorry, the discussion has been about Kristie so that's why I read it as.

Was Kylie ostracised though? She was determined to be part of the women's alliance and couldn't look beyond that even when it was clear they didn't want her.
 
According to comments Pags made Kylie was kind of ostracized and he couldnt understand why. She was always cheerful, worked hard around camp, did really well in challenges and was helpful in medical issues because she had had some paramedic training as a firefighter. Perhaps her eternal cheerfulness and energizer bunnyness rubbed some of the grumpier players the wrong way....it happens.
 
Well it would be interesting to have some other point of view then. All I'll probably remember of Kylie and Matt is that they were talked of as being big gameplayers and yet I saw little evidence of that. Both just seemed at the bottom of the alliance they were in and then got jettisoned. Kristie was more lucky in that she got kept around and ended up having more of a storyline.

I don't think Survivor is just about being happy and helpful though, that makes it sound like Big Brother. No doubt there will be pettiness, but you have to find the right people to ally with to survive, Kylie seemed to ally with the wrong people.

I completely agree. Being a nice helpful happy person is great in real life...and I am absolutely certain that that is exactly what Kylie is...but in Survivor it isnt necessarily an asset. Actually as human beings, not game players Kylie, Kate, Sue and Craig were my favorite people.
 
So All Star Family Feud: Survivor Edition is ... what time tonight? Do we need a thread for that?
 
I have been quite busy with work and life in the last few weeks so couldn't watch and discuss the show with everyone else like I did at the start. Instead I have to resort to keeping away from the site and other social media in order to avoid spoilers and watch it at my own pace when Im free haha.

Anyway finally just finished watching the last episode. Was pretty predictable and dull for the last 4 or 5 tribal counsels I reckon so that's why I probably wasn't really motivated to make extra time for the shows ( I remember staying up til 3am and going work next day when I binge watched the US version years ago!!) . Most shocking event during the last few eps was seeing how dumb it was for Flick to tell El straight to her face that she will be voting her off that night only to completely backfired. Don't know what everyone here thinks but I think that was pretty dumb and the way she'd allow herself to be treated as the 'bad guy' and ostracized by the power couple after that was painful to watch. I was actually reluctantly rooting for Flick until that point since she seem to be one who is at least strategizing and then wanted to her gone.

I'm so glad it wasn't final between Lee and El. That would've ruin the season. Otherwise it was an okay season overall and it will only get better next season! Glad that Kristie ended up winning, although she did screwed a lot of 'more likeable' players with her flip-flopping, which ultimately further Lee and El boring game play.

I say bring on Survivor Australia season 2!!!

Agreed that was the stupidest move... but ultimately it paved the way for Kristie's win, so as frustrating as it was for us to watch, she actually did viewers a favour by delivering a much less predictable result.

Next season will actually be season 4. But yes, bring it on. I hope the producers learned a lot from this one and don't repeat some mistakes they made this time around (too many non-elimination eps, 'pick your own tribe' debacle etc).
 
Interesting group of people on tonight. Sue, Rohan, Phoebe and Conner on one team. Lee, El, Sam and Brooke on the other.
